Minister of Youths and Sports, Solomon Dalung has commended FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria for partnering the ministry to develop sports in Nigeria.
Dalung, while unveiling the renovated power gymnasium at the National Stadium in Lagos, expressed his pleasure in commissioning the newly refurbished Gymnasium at the National Stadium, Lagos.
?Without mincing words, we appreciate the immerse contributions of this sports loving company, FrieslandCampina WAMPCO to the Para Powerlifting Federation by single-handedly refurbishing and equipping the gym with modern equipment worth millions of Naira. This will go a long way in developing and training our Para Powerlifting team for national and international competitions.?
?I am also very delighted to that Friesland Campina will be supplying the Para Powerlifting teams camped at the National Stadium with Peak Milk monthly to enhance their nutritional intakes.?
The Minister also talked about the importance of private sector participation in developing sports in Nigeria and urged the private sector to emulate FrieslandCampina WAMCO.
He also thanked the Para Powerlifting Federation for consistently making the country proud in international events and urged them to make the nation proud at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia.

The Head Coach of Nigeria Para-Powerlifting Federation (NPPF), Are Feyisetan, believes this gesture would go a long way in helping the athletes as they have been using outdated facilities for many years as the Gym had not been renovated since it was built in 1973.
