The Cross River state goverment hit hard on motor-cycle riders by banning the use of motor-cycle in the capital city. This was taken into action last year by the state goverment after a bill was pass against the use of motor-cycle as a means of transpot in the capital city, reasons for this were laid down by the spokeman of the house of assemble, who explained reasons for the ban due to the increase in accident and death cause by the reckless driving of motor-cycle operators in the state, he also stated that the ban was to help in the development of the state. A cryout by residents of the city of calabar were in the air as they express their veiw on the matter, a few felt it was the right thing to be done, while majority were against as it, as motor-cycle is the major & the fastest means of transportation in the state and also a means of self-employment in the state. The outcry fell on deaf ears, all means to urge the governor, Sen. Imoke to revese the dicision proof abortive. And the aftermath was and is still roaming round the town, as the one time busy city return to it clam and the residents back to 1900, as people now move on foot due to increase in taxi price and also the small puse of the state, the steady darkness during the past xmas eiv and now am writing this post, the increase in jobless men which will result to increase in criminal activies in the state etc, THE CROSS RIVER STATE CAPITAL RESIDENTS ARE REALLY LIVING OUT THEIR WOST NIGHTMARE.
