A former Minister of Education, Prof. Tunde Adeniran, has called on the leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party to close ranks in the bid to find a lasting solution to the crisis plaguing the party.
A statement by the Director, Tunde Adeniran Campaign Organisation, Taiwo Akeju, on Tuesday, said that unity was vital to the rejuvenation of the former ruling party.
Adeniran called on the leaders and supporters of the party to put behind them the disappointment of the botched national convention of the party held in Port Harcourt a few days ago.
He said, ?The PDP needs unity at this critical moment. ?We salute the steadfastness of our teeming supporters in building a strong and virile political party that would rescue power from the ruling party come 2019.
?We assure them that tomorrow would be better. All efforts are being made to achieve total reconciliation within the party.?
