Reading the conversation that has taken place is the reason I normally do not enter discussions about God. Why get upset or bent out of shape if someone does not believe in God the way I do? None of us have to give account for someone else's beliefs or actions--do we? I only have to give account for my own actions, way of living, and belief in God for myself.
I believe that God sent his son Jesus (who was God in the flesh) to come down and redeem mankind from their sins. And I believe there is one God, but three functions or manifestations of that one God. One part of God functions as the Father (who sent his son); the other part of God functions as the son (who came and died for mankind), and the other part of God functions as the Holy Spirit (who fills and dwells in believers with power to live holy and righteous). Now if everyone said, "Patricia, we do not believe the way you did", should I fall apart because no one believes like I do. No one is going to shake my faith and change my mind, for it is that--my mind and right to believe as I choose to believe--and guess what--everyone has a right to the same priviledge. God does not put a gun to anyone's head and force them to believe in him--nor should we.
I do not see the wind, but I feel when it blows. Why do I have to prove my faith in God? I do not see him physically, but I believe he exists; for I feel him and know that he is with me.
Just my thoughts.
