TASCE provost solicits support for college growth
The pioneer Provost, Tai Solarin College of Education, Omu-Ijebu, Dr. Abiodun Ojo, has appealed to the public and the private sectors to aid the rapid development of the institution.
He made this call during the familiarisation tour of all the host communities around the institution including Omu, Igbile, Ikise, Odo Jobore, Ibido-Omu, Irete and its environs.
According to him, the establishment of the TACOED is a blessing to the host communities, adding that this would improve the socio-economic and educational growth of the area.
He, however, urged the indigenes of the area to cooperate with the authorities of the college and the Ogun State Government to enjoy more dividends of democracy.
The provost also appealed to landlords not to increase house rent so as to build good relationship with the students.
Ojo also cautioned the members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers against reckless driving and hike in transport fares.
While receiving the team to his palace, the Olomu of Omu, Oba Mosuro Ramuja II, promised the unflinching support of the community to the provost and his team.
He thanked the state Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, for establishing the college in the area, adding that efforts would be made to assist in the development of the institution.
At Odojobore and Idibo Omu, the provost urged the communities to assist the college by contributing towards the protection of lives and property.
Ojo also visited the Divisional Police Officer, Odogbolu, Mr. Wale Adeleke, who assured the college of adequate security around the campus.
Meanwhile, the Ijebu-Ode Club has organised a Co*ktail party in honour of the provost for what the club president, Otunba Segun Ijaodola, called his immense contributions to the development of education and the club.
