The Rector, Baptist College of Theology, Lagos, Dr. Emiola Nihinlola, has said that adherence to sound academic culture and extensive reading are key success factors for any students.
Nihinlola, who stated this during the matriculation the college organised for the fresh students of the college, added that the students should see pastoral work as a professional career where professional skills and competencies are key ingredients for success. He said these factors have become imperative if they desired to make a success of their studies and ministry.
He reminded the students that as a degree-awarding institution, the college would focus on producing pastors that are spiritually dynamic, analytical, sound and logical in their ministerial duties.
”If you must succeed in life, you must read wide, and embark on activities that will engender your personal, spiritual and academic development,” he said.
The Dean, School of Education, Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Ijanikin, Dr. Ademola Farayola, in his remarks at the event, urged the students to seek wisdom, understanding and knowledge in order to excel in their academic works.
He stated that the purpose of life journey is to seek wisdom and the ability to improve on one‘s endeavour on a consistent basis.
