It might surprise you that the most expensive ‪Android‬ ‪tablet‬ is capable of feeding an average Nigeria for at least six weeks but that tablet is not a ‪‎Samsung‬ product.

In a post this morning, EwtNet named Sony Xperia Z2 Quad Core as the most expensive Android tablet you can purchase online, ahead of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition Quad, Samsung Galaxy Tab4 10.1 and Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.

The device will cost you a whooping sum of ₦106,000.

Android is winning the mobile OS war in Nigeria, the reason for this rapid growth is not far fetched as EwtNet staff round up the top 6 'cheap' Android devices you can purchase from the comfort of your home.

If you have a budget of ₦59,990 and below... down to ₦49,900. Here is a list, not just a list but review and specifications of laptops you can buy with that budget

I personally picked the best I could find, putting lack of electricity and lengthy working hours into consideration.  PS: Nothing to be scared of, they are all from reputable manufactures.

Like many small business owners, you may believe your business cannot benefit from having a website or that a website is not within your budget. Or maybe you think because you don?t use a computer, neither do your potential customers. These are misconceptions. These 8 reasons show why your company NEEDS a professional website, no matter what size your business.

Today, more and more consumers use the internet to search for the products or services they need. Your small business will gain credibility by having a website. Without one, potential customers will go to your competitors that do. If you already have a website but it is "home-made", having it professionally redesigned will provide your business with a professional image which will inspire even greater confidence. For home-based businesses, this is particularly beneficial since you do not have a store front to promote your products or services.

As a small business owner you probably think you can't afford a professional website, but you can't afford NOT to. Although the cost of designing a website varies, once it's up and running, a website for a small business generally costs under $100 a month and, in some cases, as little as $20. Compared with the cost of a newspaper ad, when you consider the potential market you can reach with a website, it is a very cost effective way to promote your business.

Think of your website as being your online brochure or catalogue. It is much easier and quicker to update information about your products and services on your website than in print material, making it an effective way of letting your customers know about the arrival of new products, upcoming events, special promotions, or any new services you now offer. Unlike print ads which quickly become outdated, your website can provide current information and news.

A website is available to both your regular and potential customers 24/7/365 providing them with the convenience of reviewing your products and services when your store or office is closed. With today?s busy lifestyles, this is a great selling point when making a purchase decision.

Whether you provide products or services, your website will provide an alternative location to sell them. As a retailer, a website (eCommerce) is a great place to sell your products to a wider market; even services can be made available globally. Don't think you'll be able to sell your products or services online? Don't forget, even cars and houses sell online!

No matter what type of business you?re in, a website is a great place to showcase your work. By including a portfolio or image gallery, as well as testimonials about your work, you can demonstrate what makes your business unique.

Providing information to your customers takes time, whether it?s on the phone, face-to-face, in a brochure, or in emails. With an online catalogue you can provide lots of information about your products and services. Once your website is up and running, it is available to your customers indefinitely, saving you time. And what is time? Time is money!

Maybe you sell environmentally friendly products and would like to share tips on how to recycle, or perhaps you?re an accountant and want to give your clients advice on how to simplify their bookkeeping practices. By including a FAQ page, adding articles or uploading newsletters to answer all your customers' questions you can keep them up-to-date. What better way to provide them with value added service than by sharing information on your website.

EWT Global Solutions has taken many business in Nigeria and 6 other countries online and it's looking to assist you take your small business to the next level. For more details, check out or view their affordable web designing packages

GENERAL DISCUSSION / ASUU May Suspend Strike Today
« on: November 16, 2013, 03:53:33 PM »

There are indications that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) in Nigeria may end its four-month old strike on Saturday, November 16.

About 120 chapters of the union have voted in support of the decision to end the strike at their various congresses held in their institutions.

However, the National Executive of the body has not ratified the decision to end the strike.

A Pro-Chancellor of the University of Benin, Senator Effiong Bob, urged ASUU to end the strike in honour of Late Fetus Iyayi, a former president of the union.

Senator Bob, who was at the residence of the late professor pointed out that Late Iyayi died while trying to resolve the issue.

?ASUU Should call of the strike so that both the union members and students can come and give him the last respect he deserves during his funeral,? he said.

Late Iyayi died on Tuesday, November 12, in an auto crash on his way to Kano for a meeting of the union.

In a meeting with the leadership of the union, President Goodluck Jonathan had agreed to provide 1.1 trillion Naira (about 6.9 billion dollars) in the next five years and the balance of 62 billion Naira (about 390 million dollars) and allowance to each university.

The union had embarked on a nationwide strike on July 1 suspending all academic activities. - See more at:

NEWS / Vampire: Man Kills And Eats Flesh Of 3-Year Old Daughter
« on: October 15, 2013, 09:48:10 AM »

A Papua New Guinea man described as a vampire has been arrested after allegedly murdering his young daughter by biting her neck, eating her flesh and drinking her blood, a report says. The grisly incident occurred on Wednesday at a settlement near Lae.

According to Papua New Guinea?s post courier, the local councilor John Kenny, who was one of the first on the scene, said the three-year-old child and her mother were visiting the father when he grabbed the girl and ran off into a nearby bush. Kenny said the man allegedly held the toddler close to him, bit deep into her neck, ate the flesh and sucked her blood.

Two boys who were climbing a coconut tree nearby saw him and ran quickly to raise the alarm.?He was just laughing at the boys and continued eating the flesh and sucking the blood,? Kenny told the newspaper. When people arrived to investigate the man dumped the body in the bush and ran away before being caught and turned over to police. Papua New Guinea is a sprawling nation where black magic, sorcery and cannibalism sometimes occur. Another picture below. Viewer discretion is STRICTLY advised. - See more at:

NEWS / Asari Explodes over New University: I Don't Owe the Niger Delta
« on: October 15, 2013, 09:45:08 AM »

Ex-militant leader, Alhaji Asari Dokubo, who got to National prominence by claiming that he was fighting for the people of the Niger Delta is now singing a new song. As part of the fall out of the Amnesty programme he got a fat contract from President Goodluck Jonathan's government worth billions.

He has now established his own University in Benin Republic and many are complaining that the Niger Delta people are still poor but Asari and other militants leaders are living large.  gathered that the ex-militant is not ready to listen to such complains.

Asari said he doesn't owe the Niger Delta people accountability. In his words:
?I don?t owe anybody. I have nothing to put back anywhere. I worked hard and made my fortune mainly from outside the Niger Delta and Nigeria."
In a post he made on CKN Nigeria blog on Saturday night, while reacting to criticisms that greeted news of his new university, Asari said he is helping people, hence no one should accuse him.

"I do what I am doing - impacting on the lives of people around me because I owe that to myself,? he wrote.

He said: ?I have never stolen in my entire 50 years. I have never been elected into any government office to appropriate resources on behalf of the people. Even when I was appointed as a member of the Rivers state Muslim pilgrim welfare board....I left the board without a stain.?

However, some Niger Deltans are saying since Asari got his contract he is getting richer at their expense - See more at:

NEWS / ASUU holds street rallies in Onitsha, Akwa
« on: October 15, 2013, 09:43:16 AM »
Members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities on Monday held street rallies in Onitsha and Awka, Anambra State, to press home their demand for the implementation of the 2009 agreement the union reached with the Federal Government.

The rally at Onitsha was conducted by ASUU members from the Anambra State University, while that of Awka was conducted ASUU members from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

At the Onitsha rally and street march held at Zik?s Roundabout, the Chairman of ASUU of ANSU, Dr. Sylvia Okonkwo, said striking university teachers would not return to the classroom unless the 2009 agreement was executed.

She said among other demands, ASUU was asking for an injection of N400bn intervention fund annually into university education over the next three years.

She also said ASUU wants the Federal Government to aid state-owned universities, pay lecturers their earned allowances, gradually increase budgetary allocation to education, transfer landed property to universities and make companies operating in Nigeria to set up research and development units. - See more at:
