A MAJOR PLAYER IN THE TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS SECTOR OF THE NIGERIAN ECONOMY HAS THE FOLLOWING POSITIONS VACANT

HEAD OF OPERATIONS
DIRECTLY REPORT TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

JOB SUMMARY:
• COORDINATE KEY OPERATIONS OF THE BUSINESS TO DELIVER HIGH QUALITY SERVICE OF LOWEST COST WHILE CONSISTENTLY MEETING INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CUSTOMERS’ DEMAND.
• TO PRODUCE ON ANNUAL BUSINESS PLAN FOR THE COMPANY AND AFTER APPROVAL ENSURES EFFECTIVE IMPLEMENTATION.
• MAKE SURE THAT THE KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS AS BUDGETED ARE MAINTAINED OR IMPROVED UPON.
• PROVIDE THE STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP, TEAM SPIRIT AND THE DRIVE TO ENSURE ACHIEVEMENT OF COMPANY OBJECTIVES ACROSS ALL REPORTING ACTIVITIES.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• DEVELOP COST CONTROL AND COST REDUCTION STRATEGIES.
• TO MAKE SURE THAT THE COST-EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT OF VEHICLE SERVICE AND REPAIRS IS CONSISTENT WITH BUDGETED LEVELS OF COSTS.
• THAT INVENTORY LEVELS AND THE MIX OF STOCKS OF PORTS HELD IN THE AREA STORES IS CONSISTENT WITH EVERYDAY REQUIREMENTS TO MAINTAIN VEHICLE AVAILABILITY, BUT NOT OVERSTOCKED.
• PROVIDE ACCURATE AND TIMELY REPORTING RETURNS ON A PERIOD BASIS INCLUDING PERFORMANCE TO BUDGET, COST FACTOR/INDICATIONS BY VEHICLE.
• WITH INPUTS FROM THE FIRST LINE REPORTING MANAGERS, PREPARE CONSOLIDATED BUDGETS, THE ANNUAL BUSINESS PLAN, PERIOD PERFORMANCE STATEMENTS AND MANAGEMENT INFORMATION. THE OVER-RIDING CONTROLS WITH THE BUDGET COMPLIANCE AND COST INDICATORS.
• INAUGURATE A PERFORMANCE TRACKING SYSTEM WHICH INCLUDES THE KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS.
• LIAISE WITH HEAD, HUMAN RESOURCES TOR RECRUITMENT, OPTIMUM PLACEMENT AND TRAINING OF ALL STAFF AND EMPLOYEE RELATION PROCEDURES.
• ENSURE THAT ALL REPORTING SYSTEMS ARE OBJECTIVE, ACCURATE AND TIMELY.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:
• DEGREE IN FINANCE, BUSINESS STUDIES OR TECHNICAL DISCIPLINE.
• AN MBA WOULD BE ON ADVANTAGE.

• MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
• 10 YEARS IN EITHER A LARGE COMPANY OR CONGLOMERATE.
• LATTERLY IN A SENIOR MANAGEMENT POSITION
• THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE A STRONG CHARACTER WITH DEMONSTRATED RESILIENCE.
• MARKETING/SELLING, FINANCIAL AND TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE IN SENIOR MANAGEMENT GRADES.

PURCHASING OFFICER
THE JOB HOLDER REPORTS TO INVENTORY MANAGER AND WILL BE RESPONSIBLE MAINLY FOR THE PURCHASE OF A WIDE VARIETY OF MATERIALS AND SPARE PARTS ON A COMPETITIVE BASIS AS REQUIRED BY THE COMPANY.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• ANALYSES PURCHASE REQUISITION TO ENSURE CLARITY AND COMPETITIVENESS IN DESCRIPTION OF MATERIALS AND SPARE PARTS, QUANTITY AND QUALITY REQUIREMENTS.
• ESTABLISHES AND MAINTAINS LIST OF QUALIFIED SUPPLIERS APPROVED BY THE MANAGEMENT
• ANALYZES BID QUOTATIONS, EVALUATE FACTORS SUCH AS PRICE AND DELIVERY SUPPLIERS.
• DETERMINES REORDER LEVELS FOR SPARE PARTS
• GUARANTEES A PROPER AND CONTINUOUS MARKET SCOUTING AND BENCHMARKING THROUGH MARKET ANALYSIS, BEING UP TO DATE ON THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE TECHNICAL MARKET, VERIFYING THE RELIABILITY OF A CLUSTER OF POTENTIAL SUPPLIERS IN ORDER TO BE AWARE OF THE TRENDS AND BE PROACTIVE WITH ALL INTERNAL MARKETERS.
• COMPLETES OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES ASSOCIATED WITH THE POSITION AS MAY BE APPROPRIATE.

QUALIFICATION:
• IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST POSSESS A MINIMUM OF OND CERTIFICATE FROM A RECOGNIZED INSTITUTION.
• MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 3 YEARS WORK EXPERIENCE IN A BIG ORGANIZATION.
• GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF FLEET MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION WILL BE AN ADDED ADVANTAGE.
• GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF MICROSOFT TOOLS SUCH AS EXCEL, POWERPOINT, WORD

FINANCE OFFICER
THE JOB HOLDER REPORTS TO THE FINANCIAL CONTROL AND IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PREPARATION OF ACCURATE, PROMPT AND COMPLETE MANAGEMENT AND FINANCIAL ACCOUNTS. THIS WILL BE ACHIEVED BY ENSURING THAT ALL TRANSACTIONS ARE CAPTURED AS THEY OCCUR INTO THE RELEVANT REPORTING SYSTEMS.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY:
• PREPARATION OF MANAGEMENT REPORTS IN THE AREA OF COST ACCOUNTING, VARIANCE EXPLANATION, PERFORMANCE EFFICIENCIES AND WORKING CAPITAL RETURNS.
• PREPARATION AND MONITORING THE OPERATING / FINANCIAL BUDGET DIRECTLY SUPERVISED BY THE FINANCIAL CONTROLLER.
• DISBURSEMENT OF WEEKLY OPERATIONS FUNDS.
• PREPARATION OF INVOICES, BANK PAYMENT VOUCHERS AND DAILY BANK POSITION.
• MAINTENANCE AND UPDATE OF FIXED ASSET REGISTER TO ENSURE EFFECTIVE TRACKING PROCESS.
• PAYROLL ADMINISTRATION.

QUALIFICATION:
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
• MUST POSSESS A MINIMUM OF A B.SC/HND FROM A RECOGNIZED HIGHER INSTITUTION, POSSESSION OF PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION (ICAN, ACCA) WILL BE AN ADDED ADVANTAGE.
• MINIMUM OF 2 YEARS WORKING EXPERIENCE PREFERABLY IN THE TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS SECTOR.
• MUST HAVE GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF MICROSOFT TOOLS, SUCH AS EXCEL, POWERPOINT ,WORD ETC
• MUST BE CONVERSANT WITH BUDGET PREPARATION, BUDGETARY CONTROL AND REVIEW.
• KNOWLEDGE OF “NAVISON ERP” WOULD BE AN ADDED ADVANTAGE.

INVENTORY MANAGER
THE JOB HOLDER REPORTS TO THE FINANCIAL CONTROLLER AND IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PREPARATION OF INVENTORY AND WORKING CAPITAL REPORT.
HE/SHE ENSURES THAT INVENTORIES OF ALL ITEMS ARE ACCURATELY AND TIMELY RECORDED AS THEY OCCUR.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• HE ENSURES THAT ACCURATE RE-ORDER LEVELS, MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM STOCK LEVELS ARE SET.
• MONITORS REGULARLY AND REVIEWS LOW MOVING /IDLE STOCK ITEMS AND PREPARE NECESSARY REPORTS FOR MANAGEMENT ACTION.
• ENSURE MONTHLY AND PERIODIC STOCK COUNTS EXERCISE ARE CARRIED OUT AND PREPARE REPORTS FOR MANAGEMENT ACTION.
• ENSURE PERIODIC FIXED ASSET VERIFICATION EXERCISE IS IMPLEMENTED.
• CARRY OUT DAY TO DAY INPUTS OF RECEIPTS AND ISSUES USING DULY APPROVED SOURCED DOCUMENTS
• SET UP THE PROPER ARRANGEMENT OF SPARES IN THE SPARE PARTS STORE.

QUALIFICATION:
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
• MUST POSSESS A MINIMUM OF A B.SC/HND IN ACCOUNTING, STATISTICS, ECONOMICS OR BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION FROM A RECOGNIZED HIGHER INSTITUTION, POSSESSION OF PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION (ICAN, ACCA OR ITS EQUIVALENT) IS COMPULSORY.
• MINIMUM OF 2 YEARS WORKING EXPERIENCE PREFERABLY IN THE TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS SECTOR.
• MUST HAVE GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF MICROSOFT TOOLS, SUCH AS EXCEL, POWERPOINT ,WORD ETC
