NPA Cabinet Shake-Up Raises Bar On Reforms

The reforms in the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) may have taken-off in grand style with the redeployment of 19 senior management staff including general managers.

This is coming as some principal managers were promoted to the position of Assistants general managers.

The Managing Director, NPA, Hadiza Bala Usman, in her inaugural speech said: ?As a team leader, I have come to add my best efforts to transform this agency so that we can collectively achieve results for our industry. We shall prioritise investment in primary equipment and infrastructure and services committed to by NPA in the concession agreements to hasten clearance of imports and exports from the ports. As we collaborate in the best traditions of public service, I believe that with commitment and diligence our hard work can position NPA as a model agency.?


Among the top managers affected are: Mrs Akinbayo C. O. formerly Assistant General Managers Admin and Commercial, succeeds Abdullahi Buhari as the Ag. General Manager, London Office, Ephraim Okon, now Asst. General Manager takes over from Mohammed Nasir Anas, agency?s Abuja Liaison Office respectively.
The former General Manager, ND & JV, Mrs Madubuike Ugowho, is now General Manager, Special Duties, while the General Manager, Western Ports, Ajayi Micheal Kayode, becomes the General Manager, Public Affairs, reporting to the Managing Director.

Capt. Ebubegu Ihenacho, formerly General Manager, Public Affairs, has been moved to General Manager, M & C Western Ports, reporting to the Executive Director, M & O.

Also, Talabi Tolulope, who was General Manager, C&SP, now reports to the Managing Director, as General Manager, NB&JV, while former General Manager, Marine and Operations, Goje Abdulahi Aliyu, is now General Manager, Eastern Ports, reporting to Executive Director, M&O.

Similarly, former General Manager, London Office, Abdulahi Buhari, reports to the Managing Director, as General Manager, SERVICOM, while Mohammed Nasir Anas, formerly heading the Abuja Liaison Office, is now General Manager, Administration, reporting to Executive Director, Finance and Administration.

The incumbent General Manager, SERVICOM, Kabir Edward, takes over as General Manager, M&C Eastern Ports, reporting to the Executive Director, M&O.

Others also affected in the exercise include the former General Manager, PP&D, Yusuf Ahmed, who is now General Manager, Health Safety and Environment (HSE) and reports to Executive Director, M&O, while Obinomen Peter Micheal, formerly General Manager, Maintenance, is now General Manager, Capital Projects, reporting to the Executive Director, E&TS.

The General Manager, Eastern Ports, Asanga Joshua, is moved to Marine operations as General Manager, and now reports to Executive Director, M&O, while Mohammed Ahmed Rufai, formerly General Manager, Capital Projects, becomes General Manager PP&D, and reports to Executive Director, E&TS.

Among them are also the former General Manager, Special Duties, Mrs Efere Caroline, now General Manager, Superannuation; Ag, General Manager, HSE, Gbadamosi R.A. is now Ag. General Manager, Western Ports; Ag. General Manager, M&C, Onuenyenwa Simeon Obumneme, now Ag. General Manager, Corporate & Strategic Planning; Ag. General Manager, Procurement, Jatto Adeiza, is now Ag. General Manager, Maintenance; and Asst. General Manager, Operations, Dandare Ahmed, is now Ag, General Manager, Procurement.
