Zamfara Transports 540 Pilgrims to S’Arabia

Five hundred and forty pilgrims from Zamfara State were yesterday  transported to Saudi Arabia from the Sultan Abubakar International Airport, Sokoto.
According to News Agency of Nigeria reports,   the pilgrims, including those from Birnin Magaji and Zurmi local government areas, were expected to have been transported to the holy land on Sunday.
 Public Relations Officer of the state Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Saidu Maishanu, told NAN that the flight was delayed till yesterday due to  screening of documents and other boarding processes.
He said another batch of 520 pilgrims from Gummi and Shinkafi, as well as  some officials of the agency were being screened for the second flight  today.
The state Governor, Mahmud Shinkafi, advised the pilgrims to pray for peace and progress of the state and the country.
 Chairman of the Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Ibrahim Mallaha, also appealed to them to abide by the 40kg luggage approved by the National Hajj Commission.
