NLC SAYS E-PAYMENT IMPOSES HARDSHIP ON WORKERS
« on: March 28, 2009, 03:57:46 PM »
The Chairman of the NLC in Kwara, Mr Emmanuel Aiyeoribe, has advised the Federal Government to find solution to the hardship the e-payment system has imposed on workers.

Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Ilorin, Aiyeoribe said that the e-payment policy should not be used as a tool to bring suffering to civil servants.

He said that many federal civil servants in the country have not collected their February salary till date as a result of the system.

?The e-payment system introduced by the Federal Government is bringing untold hardship to federal civil servants. Many of them here in Kwara have not collected their February salary and the delay is as a result of the e-payment.

?We urge the Federal Government to look seriously into the matter and find a lasting solution to it,?? the labour leader said.

Aiyeoribe, however, said that labour will not kick against the system whenever the state government introduceds it so long as ?workers receive their salaries as and when due?.
