Qualifications:
Bsc. In mechanical engineering or structural engineering
Experience:
? Minimum of 5 years (post qualification) with contracting company (not client) involved in fabrication for oilfield construction projects. Candidate must have knowledge of fabrication of offshore structures and international codes and specifications. Ideally should also have a working knowledge of major oil company specifications (Exxon Mobil, Total and shell) must be able to demonstrate a complete understanding of the importance of HSE in the day to day activities of a busy fabrication facility.
Candidate should be energetic, enthusiastic and a team player.
Project engineer will be working within operations department of onshore based oilfield fabrication company reporting to the senior construction manager and will perform but not be limited to the following functions
1. Review of engineering activities for the assigned project to ensure the delivery of safe, high quality and ?fit-for-purpose? product within budgetary and schedule constraints.
2. Coordinate with PMT to ensure that fabrication departments is kept up to date with changes to scope of work, project schedule, manpower requirement.
3. Set up and maintain project documentation system
4. Issuance of project documentation to fabrication head within operations department
5. Tracking and reporting manpower and equipment usage
6. Tracking and reporting manpower and equipment look ahead requirements

Position description

? Assigned to an offshore integrated field development project embracing both Brownfield and Greenfield works to establish a record for all quantities to include but not limited to mechanical, electrical. Structural, piping, instrumentation and pre-commissioning
? Review and verify the quantities submitted by contractors as well as calculations and approve the quantities
? Where applicable carry out measures with site management in accordance with contractual procedures

? Monitor the usage of welding processes on the contract in accordance with approved procedures

? Assisting in the supervision of welder qualification tests.

Job specification:
? Checking that surface preparation and coating applications are in accordance with the contract specification requirements.
? Random inspections of equipment to ensure fitness for purpose
? Random inspections of equipment parameters during preparation and coating operations.
? Ensuring that Nigerdock, client and third party witness of required stage inspections is carried out and documented.
? Preparation, completion and filing of all inspection records, including: inspection log and coating inspection report.
Man specification
? A good B. sc or HND in chemical engineering or industrial chemistry and possession of following certifications
? NACE LEVEL 2
? 5-7 years and plus proven inspection experience in the oil and gas industry with emphasis on offshore structures
10. WELDER, FITTERS, RIGGERS ? REF. NO. EOC 1208/10
Welders should be certified as 6G, 6GR, TIG welders, fitters and riggers should be grade 1 certified.
