The Lagos State Government on Thursday said its recent initiative towards restoring public schools to their former glory was already yielding results.

The Public Relations Officer of the state Ministry of Education Mr. Tunji Bakare, said the initiative was targeted at equipping the schools with adequate facilities and infrastructure through the Save Our School programme.

Bakare, who said this in a statement made available to our correspondent, said the latest support came in the form of donation of school furniture to St. Agnes Catholic Primary School, Yaba whose pupils, hitherto, had been making do with improvised furniture.

He said the donation was from a member of the National Assembly, Senator Munirudeen Muse and Boltrade Nigeria Ltd.

According to him, Muse and Boltrade Nigeria Limited donated 125 sets of classroom furniture to the school.

Presenting the furniture to the school, the Special Adviser to the Deputy Governor, Ms. Ronke Azeez, said that the gesture was a welcome development and a response to the Support Our Schools initiative.

Azeez, who extended the state?s appreciation to the donors, called on other individuals, companies and corporate organisations to partner with the state in moving the education sector forward through the donation of materials or infrastructural facilities to any of the state?s public schools
