Google Play has been one of the most annoying app for some people, especially for people who normally subscribe for a limited data plan or those who are using a low end Android smartphones.  The most annoying issue about Google Play is the auto update, which sweetly consumes your data without your permission and the consumption of RAM when running in background process.  I'll be sharing how you can safely remove Google Play without affecting Google service framework on your Android smartphone.

Before proceeding, i'll recommend you do nandroid backup (fully back up your phone via custom recovery) and you must have root explorer installed on your phone.  It work perfectly on HTC Droid Incredible 2 which i tested it on.  The Google Play system file is normally under System/App folder, first you need to download another Google play app to your memory card which you can download from HERE, mount your root explorer to R/W and go to system folder, click on app and locate vending. apk among the application lists and delete it(i will suggest you back up the file to your memory card coz you may need it later).  After deleting the vending. apk file in your system/app folder make sure you don't restart of off your phone during this process. . . . read more at cabnet-onmobile. blogspot. com
