GUYS:
I BEG U ALL IN THE NAME OF LOVE
1. Before U start a relationship with a lady,
U must think carefully about what U are
about to do.
A relationship is not something U should rush into or handle lightly.
2. Are U ready for a relationship with her?
Are U emotionally, mentally and
spiritually
mature to meet her needs? 3. Being sexually attracted to her
means absolutely nothing. It isn?t a sign
of
likeness,
love or any other thing Ur mind may come up with.
It may just be Ur hormones
messing with Ur mind. A woman is
more than her body and her sexuality.
She has a life
which U should be able to blend with.
Can U do that?
4. This lady has a history. Can U handle it? She has a past. Can U handle it?
Can U handle her mistakes, failures and weaknesses?
Can U handle her
dreams without being intimidated and
becoming jealous?
5. She already had a life before she met U. Can U fit into and help improve her life? 6. Love is commitment. Are U ready
to
commit Ur life to helping her grow
And
become all that she can be, by God?s
grace? 7. Is she valuable enough for U to devote
a large portion of Ur life
Towards the
accomplishment of HER dream?
Are U ready
to pour Ur resources into making her all the
Lord plans for her to be?
If U are not
ready, don?t just bother.
8. Before U open Ur mouth to say
?I love U?, Ask Urself if this is not just
moment
of ?emotional madness?.
A lady needs
much more than
?I love U?. She needs Ur commitment.
If U are not ready to make that commitment
That will lead to marriage,
Please leave her alone in peace and stop
wasting her time. ˚

Story List The Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests Psychological Effects of Abuse
Recent stories of interest Soul Stealing: Power Relations in Pastoral Sexual Abuse by Rev. Pamela Cooper White ONE of the most important tasks of the women's movement in the past
two decades--if not the most important-has been to bring violence
against women in all its forms out of the closet. Contrary to the opinion of
a man who called in to a radio talk show to tell me that the work of
battered women's shelters was "the promulgation of victimization," the
often overwhelming task of bringing this information to light is one of empowerment. Understanding that knowledge is power, women have
bravely spoken up about their experiences of abuse and formed
supportive organizations that send a message to survivors of male
violence: you are not alone. One out of three women in the U.S. is raped;
one out of four (according to the FBI) or even one in every two (according
to California's attorney general) is battered by an intimate partner; at least one out of four has been abused as a child; and at least one out of five is
an incest survivor. Despite an increased awareness of that violence, only a few works have
addressed the issue of pastors' sexual abuse of parishioners. Most of these
frame the problem as a psychosocial one rather than placing it squarely in
the spectrum of power abuse. Important exceptions are Marie Fortune's Is
Nothing Sacred? When Sex Invades the Pastoral-Relationship (1989) and
Peter Rutter's Sex in the Forbidden Zone: When Men in Power-Therapists, Doctors, Clergy, Teachers and others-betray Women's trust (1990). My own observations are based on working more than ten years in the
battered women's movement, in the church since 1984 as an ordained
pastor, and since August 1989 as a consultant in a program for survivors
of clergy exploitation. In convening a support group for such survivors, I
have witnessed the lasting devastations that these women have
experienced. The many parallels between male pastoral sexual abuse and wife or partner battering have become increasingly clear, especially as the
church is so often portrayed as family. (I agree with Fortune that we
should be de-emphasizing the image of church as family in favor of
images of community, in which boundary expectations are more clearly
defined.) Pastoral abuse--pastors engaging in sexual or romantic relationships with
their parishioners or counsels--is much more prevalent than is commonly
supposed. Estimates exceed the 10 percent figure Rutter ascribes to male
psychotherapists. The abuse often is seen by parisioners and
denominational executives as something else--a problem with alcohol, for
example, or an emotional or relationship problem of the pastor or the parishioner, or a parish conflict. A single pastor relating inti- mately with a
single parishioner is typically seen as an acceptable and time-honored
practice. I argue, however, that such intimate relating is always an
unethical boundary violation and that it is always the pastor's responsibly
to maintain the appropriate boundaries. As with rape, a pastor's sexual or
romantic involvement with a parishioner is not primarily a matter of sex or sexuality but of power and control. For this reason I call it pastoral
sexual abuse rather than "pastor-parishioner relations" or, worse, a
matter of private activity between consenting adults (which is almost
always how the perpetrator will describe it). Even when adultery is
involved, unfaithfullness is not the primary issue. I have found that
ministers enter into romantic or sexual relationships with parishioners primarily because there is an imbalance of power between them at the
outset and because they need to reinforce and heighten the intensity of
that power dynamic. This is need is driven by internal forces and Is
reinforced by societaly conditioned expectations that women will
function as a nurturing, sexual servant class. WHY SHOULD these relationships be considered abuse? If both the
minister and the parishioner are single (usually not the case), what's
wrong with their havinging a relationship? As Fortune has outlined, there can be no authentic consent in a
relationship involving unequal power. And no matter how egalitarian a
pastor's style of ministry, he carries an authority that cannot be ignored. I
deliberately use the term "he" because, as in domestic violence, the vast
preponderance of these cases involve male clergy. It is possible for a male
parishioner, particularly one with special financial or organizational clout-- a church council member for instance--to harass a woman minister. It
should also be noted that abuse also occurs between pastors- and
parishioners of the same sex. In such cases, the same power dynamics also
pertain, further complicated by internalized homophobia and pressures
and fears on the victim not to disclose or report. The clergy role carries a great deal of power in and of itself, and one of the
most insidious aspects of that power is the role of "man of God." In some
sense the minister carries ultimate spiritual authority, particularly in the
eyes of a trusting parishioner who looks to him for spiritual guidance and
support. But the male minister also possesses other forms of power: as a
man, he carries the power society confers upon men and socializes them to hold over women, often in the guise of being their protectors. He is
often physically stronger and more imposing. He may be an employer. He
may also assume a teaching or mentoring role which encourages women
to listen to his advice and correction. Often he also functions as a
counselor, with all the transference inherent in such a relationship. Because of this power, ministers must not ever get involved with
parishioners. (For a contrasting, less absolute viewpoint, see Karen
Lebacqz and Ron Barton's article "Pastor-Parishioner Sexuality: An Ethical
Analysis." Explor, Winter 1988. They argue that it may be legitimate
intimate for single pastors to fall in love with single parishioners. In this
treatment of the theme. Lebacqz and Barton also caution that a complex power dynamic must be taken into consideration.) In addition, the pastor must remain aware that dual relationships-where
the pastor is also friend, spiritual adviser, pastoral counselor,
administrator, CEO and even employer to his parishioners-can become
exploitive or inappropriately intimate. While dual relationships are often
difficult to avoid. Pastors should be trained to be conscious of the
potential for harm. and to understand that they hold the ethical responsibility as professionals for keeping the boundary intact. The harm done to victims can best be understood in terms of the
opportunities pastors have for ministry and how these opportunities are
destroyed by violating sexual boundaries. In their counseling role, pastors
have an opportunity to heal and strengthen fractured boundaries, and
many parishioners suffering from childhood abuse have these fractures.
Moreover, if a parishioner acts out sexually, the minister should recognise it as a clear cry for help. The last thing he should do is read it as a valid
invitation. It is even more reprehensible for him to initiate a sexual
relationship and exploit this vulnerability. The pastoral relationship can
and should be a sacred trust, a place where a parishioner can come with
the deepest wounds and vulnerabilities-where she can even act out
sexually. By modeling appropriate boundaries and healthy responses, the pastor can begin to empower her to heal those wounds. The harm done
when this is exploited is no less than a violation of sacred space, which
further ruptures and destroys the women's boundaries, devastating her
mental health and her sense of self. What every therapist knows (or
ought to) about this should also be required training for every pastor. A
pastor's sexual or romantic involvement with a parishioner is primarily a matter of power and control. Pastors have an opportunity to emphasize a power-with rather than a
power-over model in the parish. But sexual relationships with female
parishioners reinforce a traditional male power dynamic and breed a
closed, destructive parish model. In his pastoral role, the pastor has
opportunities to validate the gifts and talents of his parishioners. When he
focuses on a woman's sexuality, whether or not he denigrates her other abilities, those talents are discounted. Frequently the very talents that
attracted him to her in the first place become discounted and devalued by
him once the sexual relationship begins. Finally, when a pastor violates a parishioner's boundaries he takes away
the church's appropriate, powerful and sustaining spiritual guidance and
support and, because of threats to her reputation, robs her of an
important arena for her creativity and contributions. Many victimized
women report that not only have they lost their parish community, but
their trust has been so violated that they cannot go to any church. Both pastor and victim lose. Their families lose. And the church loses. But
the woman victim loses the most and, as things stand in most
denominations, the pastor loses the least. Typically, when such a
relationship or multiple relationships are uncovered, he gets a slap on the
wrist, a lot of sympathy and is referred to a counselor. The parish is left to
cope with feelings of betrayal and rape--most often directed at the woman as seductress. His family is angry at his betrayal (although they
often minimize and deny it). and his wife is usually left feeling confused,
abused and fearful. The family of the woman involved is generally broken
up and the burden of blame placed on her. She loses her reputation. her
parish, sometimes her job and even her whole life in the community. The
best she can usually expect from denominational leaders is sympathy, not Justice-that is. they take no action to prevent the pastor from doing it
again, nor do they recognize the seriousness of his violation. At worst, she
can expect to encounter disbelief or blame. Like batterers, abusive pastors are frequently charming and charismatic In
situations outside the abusive relationship, because the real dynamic is
power, not sex, they are often perceived as having strong leader- ship
qualities and are often described as visionaries or political movers and
shakers (or they believe that they are), They are often manipulative and
foster a climate of secrets, gossip and an inner circle. As with batterers, there is no racial or class profile to this group. In my experience, about half the time these men also abuse alcohol. But,
as with domestic violence, drinking is not the cause of the abuse, although
it is often used as the excuse. The common myth, probably held by his
wife, the parish and the denomination, is that once he admits and deals
with his alcohol problem, the sexual misconduct will stop. My experience
is that sexual misconduct and exploitation does not stop until it is dealt with explicitly. A purely addiction-treatment model will not address a
male power addiction, because the dependency model does not confront
the root social forces sustaining and normalizing male power over
women. It is difficult to guess how consciously these pastors abuse women. They
tend to see themselves, when questioned, as victims of female wiles.
Sometimes--as when threatened with suspension by their denomination--
they admit that they are in need of treatment to "build up their fortitude
against being seduced." What they generally fail to see is their own
responsibility. The internal dynamics at it work in these men may include: history of an
abusive childhood; low self-esteem and a fear of failure; deeply held
traditional values about male and female roles, however disguised in
liberal rhetoric; poor impulse control; a sense of entitlement, of being
above the law, or other narcissistic traits, difficulttry accepting
responsibility for mistakes and difficulty establishing appropriate intimate relationships and friendships with male peers (he may have what Mary
Pellauer calls a "Lone Ranger" style of ministry). Continued on Page II Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests www.snapnetwork.org

CULTURE / CHEATING.......
« on: July 22, 2013, 11:49:26 AM »
Cheating!!!!! Alot of misconceptions are given to this act. Whenever the word cheating
is mentioned, majority are quick to yell at the top of their lungs that its all
men that cheat...infact some says it runs in their blood to cheat. The honest gospel truth is, both genders cheats. Now lets talk about the men and their cheating habits. I'm actually gonna talk to the married women here because they need to
be told a few things. **Exhales**
..........You see ma'am, the mistake most women often make is focusing all
their love, time and affection on the kids once the kids starts arriving. This
mistake is often done unintentionally. . .however the men are very
jealous(take it or leave it) some of them will open up to their wives and
make feelings of lack of attention from her known, while some men will just seek refuge in the arms of some woman outside.
.........Nagging also pushes a man to cheat. So watch it.
.........Tense atmosphere in the home can make a man cheat, that is why its
adviseable you ensure the homefront is tranquil at all time.
........Hygiene is also an issue for some men. By the time you start litering
the whole house with kiddies stuffs and leaving it all messy, your man will likely keep away from the house and come home late just to sleep.
.........The kind of pals a man mingles with also goes a long way in playing
a vital role as to his cheating habit, a man who hangs out with friends
who cheats on their wives will most definitely be cajoled into cheating
aswell.
.........Being stiff in bed will also make a man cheat. Just so you know, there is nothing like respect in bed with your man. Be his whore. If you discover your husband is cheating on you and you decide to quit
your marriage, goodluck to you.. .. .. ..however should you decide to stay and work on keeping your
home;;;the worst mistake you'l ever make is to steal numbers from his
phone and call the girl he's cheating on you with. The best you can do is
ignore the girl and address the issue with your husband. He's the one who
broke the agreement you both had, he's the one who broke the trust you
had in him. The girls in question met and fell for him just like you did. They might not even know you do exist and even if they knew, you don't
know the lies your husband must have fed them with. So it's better you
entomb them in the mystery of their own nothingness. .......Urhmmmm a smart woman whose husband gets calls from his
mistress in the middle of the night will never pick a fight over the call
with her man. Here's the deal...the mistress knows he's got a wife and
she's calling in the middle of the night to cause nothing but trouble.
Should the wifey in question continiously pick a fight with her man over
this, before long, she'l become a terrible nag to her man and the man will be running further into the arms off the woman outside. This is the aim of
the woman outside. Words are great tools. Personally i can melt the strongest heart with the
words of my mouth. Gat no time for shouting, na myself i go give
headache later. . . .my dear married women, don't shout when you have a
point to butress to your man, shouting will only make you loud. Speak to
him with empathy and bruise his conscience with touchy words that'l
forever pri*k his conscience....silence is golden. Don't act on impulse and don't be quick to spit venom at your man when you're upset. Be a
woman of very few potent words, and also be unpredictable,,,when he
expects you to go left, just go right. I bet you, he'l fix himself without
being told. However it's important you know its not all men that cheats, there are
stilla few noble men who don't cheat. So its wrong to assume all men are
the same because you've not tasted all of them. Above all, never you get tired of going on your knees....the highest place
in this world is at the feet of God, take your supplications to him and
watch him do wonders for you.

GENERAL DISCUSSION / Anti christ church in Nigeria

Antichrist Church In Nigeria Where Animals Are Offered As Sacrifice and
Visitors Served With Alcohol Discovered Anti-christ Church Where Animals Are Killed For Sacrifice and Visitors
Served With Alcohol Discovered In Ogun State, Nigeria Welcome to a weird church where animals are freely slaughtered for
sacrifice. As you step into this place of worship, you are confronted with
the sight of a spot on the right that will make you conclude that you may
have strayed into a slaughterhouse.
Even though insinuations of a slaughterhouse stick out starkly and grisly,
this is by no means an abattoir. There is neither buying and selling of meat in this worship centre called As God Said, It Must Done, The Temple
of The Most High God. An evangelist at the church explained that the spot is called the ?Earth
Altar? and that it?s where different types of sacrifices are offered unto God. Located on a street named after it, Off Fakunle Street, Oke-Aro in Ogun
State, a suburb near Lagos, the church is neither Pentecostal nor orthodox.
All the same, both the shepherd and the sheep are strongly convinced
that they are serving the living God the right way. This reporter gathered that the blood splattered all over the ?Earth Altar? is
that of animals. Similarly, in sharp dissonance, the mode of worship
verges on the oddity, just as members cling on to what many people will
consider unusual beliefs and teachings of the church. As your curiosity wanders untrammeled at the multihued sight of the
church and the strangeness of its name, you meet Prophet Blessed Dike,
the general overseer and self-styled seer. He tells you with celestial audacity that God revealed the name of the
church to him while in a trance. ?While I was praying God gave me the
name of this church from the Book of Isaiah 46 verse 11?, he said. A probing by this reporter further revealed that besides the ?Earth Altar?,
the church also has a place called the ?Holy of Holies.? A worker in the
church, Mr. Isaiah Anyaehie explains that the ?Holy of Holies? was put up as
a replica of the ark of God built by Moses in the Old Testament. Like the pool of Bethesda in the Bible, members believe that anytime you
are sick and you climb into the ?Holy of Holies?, you would instantly
receive your healing. Here, members show forth when they also want to receive forgiveness of
sins and other requests from God. ?We have access to the ?Holy of Holies?
anytime there is a special programme in the church. When you ascend
into the ?Holy of Holies?, you would be healed of whatever ailment you
have and whatever you ask God for, He would do it for you,? another
member said. While you are still wondering why the entire premises is painted in red
and white, the self-styled seer tells you that white symbolizes peace
while red is totemic as it blots out sins. ?God used the blood to wipe out the sins of Adam and Eve. We offer
sacrifices because that is what God commands. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and
other great men in the Bible offered sacrifices,? he said. A female member of the church revealed to this reporter that members of
this church are expected to wear red or white attires every first and last
Sunday of the month. On the floor of the auditorium, there are straight
red lines drawn across the floor. She explained that the red lines are
Angels? pathways. ?God revealed to Daddy to make those pathways
because angels usually visit the church,? she said. There are two types of sacrifices that are offered in As God Said It Must Be
Done, the Temple of The Most High God, this reporter gathers. There is the
sacrifice of atonement, which is offered when seeking forgiveness of sins
from God. In carrying out the sacrifice, the prophet slaughters whatever animal the
member provides at the ?Earth Altar? and ?forgiveness? is obtained from
God after the prophet has prayed and blessed the person. There is also the sacrifice of thanksgiving offered when a member wants
to thank God for a favour granted him by God. The type of animal used for
this type of sacrifice may vary based on individual needs. ?You can bring a
cow, a ram, a goat, a chicken or even a dove,? another female member of
the church said. Creepy and funny caveats are never in short supply at As God Said It Must
Be Done, the Temple of The Most High God. For instance, a woman who is
in her monthly cycle is not allowed to enter into the temple; else, she may
be visited by God?s wrath. Prophet Dike said ?It?s a sin for a woman to come into the church while
she is observing her menstrual flow. It is a very terrible thing. No woman
has the right to come into the presence of God while she is menstruating.? Despite his weird doctrines, Prophet Dike is very hospitable albeit in a
way that one may describe as shocking. As soon as visitors to the church
among whom was this reporter stepped into the auditorium, he instructs
his workers to bring them refreshments. This consists of two cartons of canned Guinness, popularly known as small
stout. While you are yet to overcome the shock of seeing a prophet of
God serve alcoholic drinks in the church, he further instructs that some
bottles of whisky be brought to entertain his guests. Seeing the surprise on the faces of his visitors, he immediately explained
the reasons for his actions. ?There is nothing like alcohol or strong drink in
the bible, so where did you get that from? In Deuteronomy 14 verse 26,
God says, ?You shall spend that money for whatever your heart desires,
for oxen or sheep, for wine or similar drink, for whatever your heart
desires, you shall eat there before the Lord your God and you shall rejoice, you and your household.? God told us to spend our income on what we want. If a man calls himself
a man of God and he doesn?t have money, the anointing would turn to
annoyance. It is better that you drink in the House of God than to go to a
public place and misbehave? he said. Before the prophet was through
with attending to his visitors, he had gulped two bottles of small stout. ?Are you not afraid of going to hell? this reporter queries the prophet?
Then he laughs hysterically and said ?It is unfortunate that you have been
taught the wrong doctrine from the time you were little. Who told you
that hell exists? Heaven and hell do not exist. Can a spirit judge a spirit?
There is nothing like heaven or hell. They don?t exist. All the punishment
is here on earth. If a man cannot feed himself and his family, he is living in hell. If he
cannot pay his house rent and cannot afford to buy a car for himself, he is
living in hell. When your mates are enjoying life and you cannot enjoy it,
you are living in hell. ?If you are suffering, it means that God is punishing you for something
you have done, so there is no hell anywhere. When a man dies, that is the
end. He does not go anywhere and God does not judge him. In Mark 12,
verses 18 to 27, it is written there that ?God is not the God of the dead but
of the living. ?So what death are we talking about? If you are living well and you are
enjoying your life, you are living in heaven. People like Aliko Dangote,
Adenuga, Otedola, Obasanjo and other rich men are living in heaven
already. In the Bible, it is written that it?s God?s wish that we live in health and
prosper even as our soul prospers.? Led by God to steal?
Reflecting on how he came into the ministry as well as his early
encounter with the ?holy spirit?, Prophet Dike hinted ?From my tender
age, I used to steal a lot. Wherever any person kept money, I would steal
it, even if I was not there when the money was being kept. You may
have money in your pocket and you would not know when I would take it. ?I remember when my father used to hide his money in the spring bed in
his room. Though I wasn?t around when he kept it, but the spirit of God
would lead me to where the money was and I would just go straight to
the room and to the exact spot where he kept the money and steal it. I
did not know that it was the hand of God that was at work in me. ?This thing continued and because of that, my father sent me to Benin
after my primary education. I went there but I continued having the same
problems until I finally came to Lagos. It was while I was in Lagos that
Jesus appeared to me and gave me the message from God. ?On April 14, 2001 by 7am, I was approaching Omole Phase 1 Estate when
Jesus appeared to me in the form of a young man. I remember that I had
a cigarette in my mouth and I thought that the odour of the smoke would
offend him. He told me ?Son, my father is calling you?. ?I had this encounter three times. In one of such encounters, Jesus came to
my shop where I was a panel beater and told me, ?Son, my father has
need for you. The time for panel beating is up, now is the time to panel
beat your children. Father said you are too stubborn, but if you think you
are stubborn, He?s more stubborn than you.? ?After He said that, He disappeared and I didn?t see him again. I still did
not obey. I went from one shop to the other but it was one misfortune
after the other. At a time, my shop got burnt and that was when I decided
to obey God?s instruction. That is why till date, no one can come out and
say he shepherded me. I do not have any human mentor; it?s God that is
my mentor. He speaks to me all the time and when I need anything, I go to Him for advice. No man can say he ordained me. It was God that
ordained me.? Man of God or Anti-Christ?
?People can call me names. Some may say I am an antichrist. Others may
say I am Ogboni, but I do not care. My calling was foretold in the Bible.
The book of Isaiah 42 verses 1-2, says ?Keep silent before me, oh Islands
and let the people renew their strength. Let them speak; let them come
near and let them speak; let us come near together to judgment. Who raised up the righteous man from the east, called him to his foot,
gave the nations before him, and made him rule over kings? He gave
them as the dust to his sword and as driven stubble to his blow.? The man
from the East that God was referring to is me,? Prophet Dike boasted and
added that ?On October 28, 2012, I met with God in the Garden of Eden. In that revelation, Oyedepo was there, Adeboye was there, Okonkwo was
there, Pope John Paul was there and so many other pastors. While we
were meeting, God was very angry and told me to drive them away ,
because they were not doing His will and they were encouraging people
to worship Jesus instead of God. Four months after that, the Pope died.
God raised me to test people to know whether they are obeying the law of God or the law of men. There is nothing like the trinity. What we have
is God, the Word and the Spirit. And those are the three witnesses.? God is angry with Nigeria
?One of the reasons why God is angry with Nigeria is because they have
abandoned the day that God said the New Year should be celebrated.
They are now celebrating January 1 as the New Year day. It is totally wrong. New Year should be celebrated on July 10 each year
and not on January 1. In the book of Leviticus 16 verse 29, God says: ?This
shall be a statute forever for you. In the seventh month on the tenth day
of the month, you shall afflict your souls and do no work at all, whether a
native of your own country or a stranger who dwells among you.?, he
quipped. On the New Testament
More curious to know why some of their doctrines negate what is written
in the Bible, especially in the New Testament, Prophet Dike said ?the New
Testament is the mind of man but the Old Testament is the mind of God. ?In the Old Testament, God spoke directly to the prophets and they wrote
down what He said, but in the New Testament, the disciples only wrote
their minds. For instance, there is nothing like being born again because
God can never be born again. The New Testament is not the mind of God.
It is men speaking and not God. In the book of Matthew for instance, what
is written there is the mind of Matthew and not the mind of God. But in the Old Testament, God spoke directly to his prophets. He spoke directly to
people like Moses, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Solomon and so on.? One of the cardinal points of Christianity is the belief that Jesus Christ is
the son of God, and that he died for the sins of the world and rose again.
Prophet Dike is furious over these assertions. ?Jesus was just a servant and
not God. He has finished his duty on earth the same way other prophets
finished their calling,he said adding ?Any Christian that leaves God and
starts giving glory to Jesus should be ashamed. Jesus can never be God. He is not the savior and he did not die for anyone. Anyone that tells you
that Jesus is the son of God is a fraud and is not of God. Do the Muslims
worship Mohammed? No. They worship only God, but you see Christians
worshiping Jesus and even equating him with God. ?In the book of Deuteronomy, God says he is the only one that should be
worshiped and that we should not bow down to any image. So why do
people worship Jesus when he is just a prophet? He did not die for
anybody?s sins. He died just like any other human being. If he died for
you, why are many people still afraid to go to their villages? If you say
that Jesus is the only son of God, then what was Adam? Was he not also a son?
?When Adam who was made in the image of God could not save you,
then who is Jesus to save you? I don?t want to hear the name of Jesus
because he is not God and has never been God. God is very angry with
Nigeria because they have taken His glory and given it to a mortal man.
Why we have this high level insecurity is because of God?s wrath.? This reporter sought to know from some members why they attend the
church and if they are not skeptical of the doctrines propagated by the
prophet. The leader of the men?s fellowship in the church, Mr. Richard
Onyekachukwu said that he would continue attending the church because
God used the prophet to raise him from the dead. His wife, Esther confirmed his claim. According to her, ?My husband was
admitted at LASUTH (Lagos State University Teaching Hospital) for what
started as fever. The situation gradually worsened and he eventually died. Doctors had certified him dead and his brothers had started making plans
to take him to the village for burial. But when I called the prophet,
without seeing my husband, he prayed for him and he came back to life.? [Report by Chinelo Obogo, Saturday Sun] Without doubt, this man is an antichrist. Lord have mercy! End time is here for real.

NEWS / six former Bosnian croat leaders convited of war crime

6 former Bosnian Croat leaders convicted of war crimes Image UPDATED: May 29, 2013 14:00 GMT Six former top Bosnian Croat leaders were handed long prison sentences
Wednesday after they were convicted of crimes against humanity and
war crimes, including the rape and murder of Bosnian Muslims. The offenses, which date to between 1992 and 1994, formed part of a
wider conflict that followed the break-up of the former Yugoslavia in the
early 1990s. Christiane Amanpour: Bosnia's lesson for Syrian slaughter The six were accused at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former
Yugoslavia of trying to "ethnically cleanse" non-Croats from areas of the
territory of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Bosnian Croat
leadership, along with Croat leaders, wanted to make this territory part of
a "Greater Croatia," said the ICTY, which is based in the Hague. In order to achieve this, they carried out crimes against Bosnian Muslims
and other non-Croats that included murder, rape, sexual assault,
destruction of property, imprisonment and deportation, the ICTY
statement said. Jadranko Prlic, Bruno Stojic, Milivoj Petkovic and Valentin Coric were
convicted on 22 counts of the indictment for war crimes and crimes
against humanity. In photos: Remembering the Bosnian war Prlic, the former president of the Croatian Defense Council and later head
of the government of a wartime Croat entity, Herceg-Bosna, was
sentenced to 25 years in prison -- the toughest penalty. The other three were given prison terms ranging from 16 to 20 years in
length. Two of the accused, Slobodan Praljak and Berislav Pusic, were acquitted
on some of the charges against them. Praljak, a former assistant defense minister of Croatia and at the same
time a commander of the Croatian Defense Council, was convicted on 20
counts and sentenced to 20 years in prison. He played an important role in securing weapons and ammunition for the
Croatian Defense Council army, the indictment said. Pusic, who was formerly in charge of detention facilities and prisoner
exchanges for the Croatian Defense Council, was found guilty on 18
counts and given 10 years in prison. Defense lawyers for the six have 30 days to appeal their convictions and
sentences. 'Extreme violence' The chamber ruled by a majority that the accused wanted to create a
Croat entity to unify the Croatian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Later,
these areas were to be either joined with the Republic of Croatia or
remain in close association with it, the ICTY said. The indictment focused on crimes committed in eight municipalities,
including Mostar, the ICTY said. The chamber concluded that "in the majority of cases, these crimes were
not committed in a random manner by a few undisciplined soldiers. On
the contrary, they were the result of a plan put together by the (accused)
members to remove the Muslim population of Herceg-Bosna." Others were also part of this joint criminal enterprise, it said, and together
they secured personnel and coordinated operations on the ground to
carry out the plan. In the case of the historic city of Mostar, "extreme violence" was used to
evict Bosnian Muslims from West Mostar, claimed by the Croats, to the
other side of the city, the statement said. "Muslims were woken up in the middle of the night, beaten and forced to
leave their apartments, often still in their pyjamas. Many women,
including a girl of 16, were raped" by Croatian Defense Council soldiers, it
said. From June 1993 to April 1994, East Mostar was under siege and the
Muslim population there was subject to "intensive and constant" shelling
which left many civilians dead or injured, it said. Other testimony focused on abuses against Muslim prisoners at Croatian
Defense Council detention centers, including beatings, sexual assaults and
using them as forced labor on the front lines. The trial, which started in April 2006, is one the largest and most complex
the tribunal has handled, it said. More than 200 witnesses were called,
145 of them by the prosecution, and the judgment runs to some 2,600
pages.

French same-sex couple: Why we tied the knot Image UPDATED: May 30, 2013 11:12 GMT Two men who have become France's first same-sex married couple have
opened their hearts about the special qualities in each other that made
them want to spend the rest of their lives together. In the nervous minutes leading up to Wednesday's groundbreaking
ceremony in the southern city of Montpellier, Bruno Boileau said he
adored Vincent Autin's "charisma, his ability to appease me, calm me
down ... also his sensibility and his determination." And returning the warmth, Autin told CNN in the couple's only interview
on their wedding day: "What I love about him is his objectivity and the
way he protects me. He is my great protector." But their marriage is not just about their love; they also want to build a
family and, perhaps, teach future generations how to break down
prejudices. "We want children, we want to pass down values that are important to
us, that we hold dear, that are right. And we want grandchildren and
great-grandchildren, a real family," Autin said. "One of the reasons we want children is because children have no
judgement, and we want to break down society's barriers." He added that "when French children are born into this world, they are
born with the same rights as everyone else -- but from the moment you
said you were a homosexual, society deprived you of some of those
rights. Today the French Republic has given these rights back to us." The 40-year-old, who works for Montpellier's tourism office, expressed
his gratitude to those who had helped win the controversial right for
same-sex couples to marry, legislation that was signed into law 10 days
ago by President Francois Hollande. "We are very nervous, but obviously excited. This is a step forward for
France. What's happened today is thanks to everybody who has been so
mobilized over the past few months." The change in the law has not been without its opponents, prompting
sometimes-violent demonstrations of hundreds of thousands of people
across France. "It's very sad that they turned violent," Autin said. "It's
always so surprising to feel so attacked, but you must remember this was
a minority and most people are in favor. This proves that love can
triumph over hatred." "So thankful to those who helped us come to this moment. Some of the
people we're referring to have passed away, such as Harvey Milk [the first
openly gay American elected to public office] who was a great
inspiration." Autin described how the couple met seven years ago. While surfing the
net at the same time, they both chanced on an online fan forum for a pop
star who found fame on a show similar to "Pop Idol." A group of people
decided to go for lunch, after which he and Boileau, a 30-year-old civil
servant, became inseparable. Like many a couple tying the knot, Autin declined to give details about
what outfits they would wear, but he did confide what both parties
hoped to get out of the big day: "Obviously love, but also a great party."

NEWS / facebook targets sexist hate speech
« on: May 30, 2013, 01:56:04 PM »
Under pressure, Facebook targets sexist hate speech Image UPDATED: May 29, 2013 19:44 GMT Under mounting pressure from activists and advertisers, Facebook is
ramping up efforts to stamp out hate speech, particularly depictions of
violence against women. The move, announced Tuesday, came after a weeklong campaign by
women's groups targeting pages that celebrated or made light of rape,
domestic violence and sexual degradation of women. "In recent days, it has become clear that our systems to identify and
remove hate speech have failed to work as effectively as we would like,
particularly around issues of gender-based hate," Marne Levine, a
Facebook vice president in charge of public policy, wrote in a post on the
site. "In some cases, content is not being removed as quickly as we want. In
other cases, content that should be removed has not been or has been
evaluated using outdated criteria. We have been working over the past
several months to improve our systems to respond to reports of
violations, but the guidelines used by these systems have failed to
capture all the content that violates our standards. We need to do better -- and we will." A coalition of women's groups, under the banner Women, Action & the
Media, celebrated the announcement, saying that Facebook has asked
them to be part of an ongoing conversation about improvements to the
social network. Pages flagged as offensive by the group had such names as "Kicking Your
Girlfriend in the Fanny Because She Won't Make You a Sandwich,"
"Violently Raping Your Friend Just for Laughs," "Raping Your Girlfriend"
and "Fly Kicking sl*ts in the Uterus." Searching for those pages
Wednesday delivered no results. "It is because Facebook has committed to having policies to address these
issues that we felt it was necessary to take these actions and press for
that commitment to fully recognize how the real world safety gap
experienced by women globally is dynamically related to our online
lives," author Soraya Chemaly, who helped spearhead the effort, said in a
post on the group's site. In Levine's post, Facebook promised to: -- Update guidelines that its Community Standards team uses to identify
hate speech, with help from legal experts and women's groups -- Update training for team members who police hate speech -- Increase accountability for Facebook users whose pages don't legally
qualify as hate speech but who post content that is "cruel or insensitive" -- Implement a policy that requires users who create pages with
questionable content to publicly attach their personal account to them -- Encourage groups already working on cyber-hate issues to include the
women's coalition. "These are complicated challenges and raise complex issues," Levine
wrote. "Our recent experience reminds us that we can't answer them
alone." Tasked with policing a site with roughly 1 billion users, Facebook says it
has sought to strike a balance between cracking down on hateful content
while still allowing for freedom of expression. "We seek to provide a platform where people can share and surface
content, messages and ideas freely, while still respecting the rights of
others," Levine said. "To facilitate this goal, we also work hard to make
our platform a safe and respectful place for sharing and connection. This
requires us to make difficult decisions and balance concerns about free
expression and community respect." Such issues have come up repeatedly in the past, notably when Facebook
users created fan pages celebrating accused Colorado theater shooter
James Holmes or Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The recent campaign by women's groups was launched last Tuesday with
an open letter to Facebook complaining about pages deemed offensive.
The letter complained of a double standard toward imagery on the site in
light of past controversies over Facebook removing more innocuous
content, such as photos of women ---feeding. "These pages and images are approved by your moderators, while you
regularly remove content such as pictures of women ---feeding,
women post-mastectomy and artistic representations of women's
bodies," read the letter, signed by dozens of women's groups from
around the world. "It appears that Facebook considers violence against
women to be less offensive than nonviolent images of women's bodies. "In a world in which hundreds of thousands of women are assaulted
daily and where intimate partner violence remains one of the leading
causes of death for women around the world, it is not possible to sit on
the fence. We call on Facebook to make the only responsible decision and
take swift, clear action on this issue, to bring your policy on rape and
domestic violence into line with your own moderation goals and guidelines." On Twitter, supporters posted violent images they said were originally
shared on Facebook pages. They included a picture of a woman at the
bottom of a stairwell with the caption, "Next time, don't get pregnant"
and multiple postings of a dramatized photo of a man threatening a
frightened woman with captions like "Dishes: Do them now" and
"Women deserve equal rights ... and lefts." The letter also encouraged people to contact Facebook advertisers.
According to the group, supporters sent more than 5,000 e-mails to
advertisers, in addition to posting messages to advertisers on Twitter and
Facebook itself. The group claims that 15 companies said they were pulling their ads from
Facebook as a result of the efforts. Nissan UK and Nationwide were
among those who announced they were doing so while others, like Dove
soap, said they were working with Facebook on a solution. "We fully support that today @womenactmedia & @Facebook reached a
joint position on rights," Nissan UK posted on its Twitter feed late
Tuesday. User responses on Facebook's post were mixed. While many of the
roughly 300 comments Wednesday morning thanked the site, others
suggested it wasn't enough or speculated that it wouldn't have
happened without pressure from advertisers. There was also pushback from users who called it a threat to free speech. "Oh look," said user Mathew Bates. "The hurt feelings police is attempting
to undermine the First Amendment again." Many, however, seemed optimistic -- but cautious. "It's a start but I'll believe it when I see it in the long term," wrote user
Melissa Perault. "We need to make sure FB follows up on this." Facebook's community standards page says, "Facebook does not permit
hate speech, but distinguishes between serious and humorous speech.
While we encourage you to challenge ideas, institutions, events, and
practices, we do not permit individuals or groups to attack others based
on their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, sexual
orientation, disability or medical condition."

Chinese baby, rescued from toilet, is released to grandparents UPDATED: May 30, 2013 10:33 GMT A newborn baby boy who was found alive inside a toilet pipe in Jinhua,
China, has been released from a hospital and taken home by his maternal
grandparents, police said Thursday. The child's mother is still being treated at the hospital, but has been
cooperating with the investigation, said Xiang Jiangsong, a police official. The police are labeling the case an "accident" at this time, and no charges
have been filed against the mother. Dramatic video of the infant's rescue made global headlines and sparked
reactions worldwide. Unable to pull the infant out, rescuers went to the floor below and sawed
away a section of pipe. But the baby was still stuck, so both the section of pipe and the infant
were taken to a hospital. Working together, rescuers and doctors began removing the pipe, piece
by piece. CCTV video showed the exact moment hands in white gloves gingerly
pulled away a part of the pipe, revealing the tiny face of a newborn. The infant, a boy referred to as "Baby 59," is drinking formula, doctors
said. Police said firefighters and other rescuers involved visited the baby at the
hospital and sent clothes, formula powder and diapers. The mother's account The mother of the infant is not being identified, but police say she is 22. Local police say that, so far, they believe her account of how the baby
ended up in the pipe. "That day she felt stomachaches," said Jiang Song, the vice director of
police. "So she went to the toilet. It was actually close to her due date
and the baby just slid out." Police questioned the woman, who told them that she did not intend for
the child to fall into the toilet, according to a local TV channel that was
posted on the official police Weibo account. The police said she tried to retrieve the baby with a stick, then decided to
flush the toilet to clear away the blood.

GAY GAY GAY Ladies... Sometimes laws and culture will fight against you. If you have a man beating the
hell out of you its not your fault. The law has made it hard for gay men to be who they are.
So to keep out of prison, they are forced to marry you.. Like all humans when forced to do something against our will, we lash out. Real men who
love and want women cant get enough of them. They will do all they can to prove that.
Gay men who are forced to be with you for the sake of covering up their sexual desires to
be with another man will mistreat you, beat you, cheat on you, not provide for you, harm
you in any way he can. Because he doesnt love women. You have to get rid of him for two
reasons. To stop the hurt and to protect yourself from HIV. Like any law people always find away around it. He will be sneaking to have sex with men and get really pissed off when
he has to leave that man and come back to look at you. Forced to have sex with you for
children. There are alot of clues that you are dealing with a closet gay man. He beats you, shames
you, wants to have gay sex with you, perfers the company of men, sleeps with all the
women he can (just for show to prove he is not gay) Talks to you like you are a burden,
seems sad to come home, treats you like you are the man, complains of everything you do,
and gets enjoyment out of hurting you................... These men cant really take the whole blame.
They dont want to be killed or put in prison for 14yrs. Becareful. Look before you leap. Before marriage listen to how he speaks about women. Does he talk about women with
respect? Does he call women all kinds of nasty names? We love our children and will protect
them with our lives. We wont punch them in the face and talk to them like trash. Love does
not hurt. Look before you leap Ladies. Just sit back and listen, the men will tell on
themselves. Just watch. We know God is against homosexuality and all but God too is against discrimination and
hate. You shouldn't hate no one because of their sexuality.
As yourself if you were the one that chose to be straight and ask them if they chose to be
gay too. People say God got angry in the Bible because of this, have you also forgotten when God
decided to send flood to the earth? Where those peeps gay? With all these discrimination how then do you want to help them? You would be surprised
someone very close to you is gay but very scared of letting you know.......... Gay men are
busy marrying our sisters just to show they are manly.. Is that what you want? Some people are so quick to quote the Bible and forgot the part that says, ''love thy
neighbour as yourself''.
You think hate will solve the problem..... You say all gays are going to hell, don't be surprised
you will join them for hating and discriminating. Jesus Himself didn't reject the prostitute woman cos He came for the sinners and not the
righteous..... For your info, am not gay,,,,, am so straight BUT I do not have any problem with gay men in
as much they do not want to convince me into it.................... I know I might get lots of insult on this one but you see am used to it, i just spoke my mind.
Am not supporting the act or supporting any gay stuff, what am saying is.... PREACH LOVE,
cos the Bible you're quoting is about LOVE GAYS ARE HUMANS LIKE US
You can't help them if you keep discriminating
You have no hell of your own to put no one in. Hmm, if men were God Let he who is without sin be the first to cast the stone.

SPECTACULAR LAUNCH PUTS THE SPOTLIGHT ON
ETHIOPIAN GIRLS INVESTING IN GIRLS 29.04.13 | BY GIRL EFFECT TEAM The first episode of a ground-breaking new radio drama for girls was
broadcast to millions of people across Ethiopia last Sunday. Yegna (pronounced YEN-ya, which means 'ours') follows the story of five
very different girls whose shared love of music creates an unlikely
friendship that each character draws on as she faces different challenges. The girls go on to form a girl band, and each episode of the drama features a
new song - which will be released separately to help promote the show. To celebrate the launch, Addis Ababa was treated to a spectacular 3D light
show outside the National Theatre, as well as the first-ever live performance
of 'Abet' - the first song to be released. Featuring influential Ethiopian artist Haile Roots, 'Abet' - which means 'We
are here' - is an inspiring song that signals the dawn of a new era for girls.
Since being released on the internet a few weeks ago it's been viewed more
than 350,000 times and has received rave reviews in Ethiopia. Senait Berhane, one of the 500 ambassadors who have been signed up to
spread the word about Yegna across Ethiopia, said at the launch: "Aside
from school and housework, there aren't many activities or fun shows for
girls to be a part of in their free time. I won't miss an episode when it starts.
Yegna will be a great addition to our lives." As well as tackling some of the real challenges facing many girls in Ethiopia -
including early marriage, violence and the lack of access to education - Yegna
also aims to encourage friendship. Research by the Population Council and others has shown that without
social connections, girls lack the support, advice and role models they need
to reach their potential. And yet as many as 21 per cent of Ethiopian girls
describe themselves as having no friends at all. Speaking at the launch of the Yegna programme, the deputy prime minister
of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonnen, said: "This is a very important programme
for Ethiopia, and especially for our girls. "This will help to engage the talent of girls and create opportunities for them
to be more active participants in school, society and in all economic and
political aspects - which is the direct strategy of the Ethiopian government." Each week the 30-minute show will be followed by a talk show to discuss
the themes of the drama. The audience will interact via Facebook, call-in
numbers and free SMS messaging. Yegna is recorded in Amharic, the most widely used language in Ethiopia. It
is being aired in Addis Ababa and the Amhara region - home to a combined
population of some 20 million people, including an estimated 2.5 million girls. The Yegna team is also piloting clubs based on the show, which will create
a safe space for girls to come together and learn through games. Watch the music video for 'Abet', the first Yegna single

EDUCATION / Nigerian teens invent urine - powered generator
« on: May 16, 2013, 11:29:00 AM »
GIRL POWER: NIGERIAN TEENS INVENT URINE-POWERED GENERATOR " African girls have created a generator that produces Electricity for six hours using a single
liter of urine as fuel. " When teenager Adebola Duro-Aina read a story online in July 2012 about nine members of
a family dying from a generator's carbon monoxide fumes, she says she thought about
what she could do to provide a safer alternative source of energy. Only 50 percent of Nigerians had access to electricity during 2009, and many families that
do are forced rely on multiple generators to meet their daily needs, such as powering
washing machines, TVs and fans. "I was sad about how people died while trying to provide electricity for themselves, trying
to make their living better," Adebola says from the chemistry laboratory of Doregos Private
Academy, a secondary school in Lagos. On the wall beside the blackboard reads a quote
from Charles Darwin: "Intelligence is based on how efficient a species became at doing the
things they need to survive." When the next academic year began in September 2012, Adebola enlisted three friends -
Oluwatoyin Faleke, Eniola Bello and Abiola Akindele, all students between 14 and 15 years
old in her science class - to help her find a solution to the problem. The team decided to design a generator that ran off an alternative fuel that wouldn't harm
users, and so began the tale of how four teenage girls in Nigeria invented a urine-powered
generator to create better - and safer - access to electricity. The after-school project sparked interest nationally and internationally after it was exhibited
at Maker Faire Africa, and the girls now hope to partner with larger companies to produce
the alternative generator on a mass scale. All this was possible because the teenage girls were still in school. Just imagine how many
innovative solutions to the world's problems there could be if all teenage girls were given
the same educational opportunities. source: .girleffect.org/
