Title: The essence of the facts
Post by: toty5 on December 13, 2017, 07:10:18 AM
Muslims worship a God that is different from the one worshipped by Christians and Jews.
This might be due to the fact that Muslims often refer to God as "Allah".  This concept is false, since "Allah" is simply the Arabic word for the One true "God" Who created the universe and all humanity.  Let there be no doubt - Muslims worship the God of Noah, Abraham, Moses, David and Jesus.  However, it is certainly true that Jews, Christians and Muslims all have different concepts of Almighty God.  For example, Muslims - like Jews - reject the Christian beliefs of the Trinity and the Divine Incarnation.
This, however, does not mean that each of these three religions worships a different God - because, as we have already said, there is only One True God.  Judaism, Christianity and Islam all claim to be ?Abrahamic Faiths?, and all of them are also classified as ?monotheistic. ? However, Islam teaches that other religions have, in one way or another, distorted and nullified a pure and proper belief in Almighty God by neglecting His true teachings and mixing them with man-made ideas.  Islam calls upon people to return to the one true God and to worship and obey Him alone.  Islam teaches that God should be approached without intermediaries.  That is because the merciful all-knowing God is completely in control of everything that exists and that He can bestow His grace and mercy on His creatures as He pleases; therefore no intercession, atonement or incarnation is necessary.

Arabic speaking people of all religions refer to God as "Allah".  For example, if you pick up an Arabic translation of the Christian Bible you will see the word "Allah" where "God" is used in English.  Therefore, Allah is not the god of only the Muslims, but the same God worshipped by all monotheistic faiths.  This idea that "Allah" is different from "God" is illogical since it is tantamount to saying that the French worship a different "god" because they use the word "Dieu", that Spaniards worship a different "god" because they say "Dios" or that the Hebrews worshipped a different "god" because they called Him "Yahweh"!
The Quran, which is the divine scripture of Muslims, was revealed in the Arabic language, so Muslims use the word "Allah" for "God", even when they are speaking other languages.  A more literal translation of "Allah" into English might be "the one- and-only God" or "the one true God".

It should be clearly understood that what Islam is primarily concerned with is correcting humankind's concept of Almighty God.  What people are ultimately going to be held accountable for at the end of Day of Judgment is not whether they preferred the word "Allah" or the word "God", but what their concept of Him is.  The true concept of God is clarified only within the message revealed by Him.  The last message sent by God, or Allah, is the Quran.

Christmas and 25th of December
Many Christians are unaware that the true spirit of reverence which Muslims display towards Jesus and his mother Mary spring from the fountainhead of their faith as prescribed in the Holy Quran.  Most do not know that a Muslim does not take the name of Jesus , without saying Eesa alai-hiss-salaam i. e.  (Jesus peace be upon him).

Jesus is commonly considered to have been born on the 25th of December.  However, it is common knowledge among Christian scholars that he was not born on this day.  It is well known that the first Christian churches held their festival in May, April, or January.  Scholars of the first two centuries AD even differ in which year he was born.  Some believing that he was born fully twenty years before the current accepted date.  So how was the 25th of December selected as the birthday of Jesus ?

Grolier's encyclopedia says: "Christmas is the feast of the birth of Jesus Christ, celebrated on December 25 . . .  Despite the beliefs about Christ that the birth stories expressed, the church did not observe a festival for the celebration of the event until the 4th century. . . .  since 274, under the emperor Aurelian, Rome had celebrated the feast of the "Invincible Sun" on December 25.  In the Eastern Church, January 6, a day also associated with the winter solstice, was initially preferred.  In course of time, however, the West added the Eastern date as the Feast of the Epiphany, and the East added the Western date of Christmas".

So who else celebrated the 25th of December as the birth day of their gods before it was agreed upon as the birth day of Jesus ? Well, there are the people of India who rejoice, decorate their houses with garlands, and give presents to their friends on this day.  The people of China also celebrate this day and close their shops.  Buddha is believed to have been born on this day.  The great savior and god of the Persians, Mithras, is also believed to have been born on the 25th of December long before the coming of Jesus .

The Egyptians celebrated this day as the birth day of their great savior Horus, the Egyptian god of light and the son of the "virgin mother" and "queen of the heavens" Isis.  Osiris, god of the dead and the underworld in Egypt, the son of "the holy virgin", again was believed to have been born on the 25th of December.

The Greeks celebrated the 25th of December as the birthday of Hercules, the son of the supreme god of the Greeks, Zeus, through the mortal woman Alcmene Bacchus, the god of wine and revelry among the Romans (known among the Greeks as Dionysus) was also born on this day.

Adonis, revered as a "dying-and-rising god" among the Greeks, miraculously was also born on the 25th of December.  His worshipers held him a yearly festival representing his death and resurrection, in midsummer.  The ceremonies of his birthday are recorded to have taken place in the same cave in Bethlehem which is claimed to have been the birth place of Jesus .

The Scandinavians celebrated the 25th of December as the birthday of their god Freyr, the son of their supreme god of the heavens, Odin.

The Romans observed this day as the birthday of the god of the sun, Natalis Solis Invicti ("Birthday of Sol the invincible").  There was great rejoicing and all shops were closed.  There was 419 Scamon and public games.  Presents were exchanged, and the slaves were indulged in great liberties.  These are the same Romans who would later preside over the council of Nicea (325 CE) which lead to the official Christian recognition of the "Trinity" as the "true" nature of God, and the "fact" that Jesus was born on the 25th of December too.

In Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, Gibbon says: "The Roman Christians, ignorant of his (Christ's) birth, fixed the solemn festival to the 25th of December, the Brumalia, or Winter Solstice, when the Pagans annually celebrated the birth of Sol " vol.  ii, p.  383.

Christians opposed to Christmas

There are several Christian groups who are opposed to Christmas.  For example, they take the verse from the Bible in Jeremiah 10:2-4 as an admonition against decorating Christmas trees.

The King James Version reads: "Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen. . . .  For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.  They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. "

In order to understand this subject, it is helpful to trace some of the history of Christmas avoidance, particularly its roots in Puritanism.

The Puritans believed that the first-century church modeled a Christianity that modern Christians should copy.  They attempted to base their faith and practice solely on the New Testament, and their position on Christmas reflected their commitment to practice a pure, scriptural form of Christianity.  Puritans argued that God reserved to himself the determination of all proper forms of worship, and that he disapproved of any human innovations - even innovations that celebrated the great events of salvation.  The name Christmas also alienated many Puritans.

Christmas, after all, meant "the mass of Christ. " The mass was despised as a Roman Catholic institution that undermined the Protestant concept of Christ, who offered himself once for all.  The Puritans' passionate avoidance of any practice that was associated with papal Rome caused them to overlook the fact that in many countries the name for the day had nothing to do with the Catholic mass, but focused instead on Jesus' birth.  The mass did not evolve into the form abhorred by Protestants until long after Christmas was widely observed.  The two customs had separate, though interconnected, histories.

As ardent Protestants, Puritans identified the embracing of Christianity by the Roman Emperor Constantine in the early 300s CE as the starting point of the degeneration and corruption of the church.  They believed the corruption of the church was brought on by the interweaving of the church with the pagan Roman state.  To Puritans, Christmas was impure because it entered the Roman Church sometime in this period.  No one knows the exact year or under what circumstances Roman Christians began to celebrate the birth of their Lord, but by the mid-300s CE, the practice was well established.

The Quran says that Allah is merciful and that He gives severe punishment.  So is He forgiving or is He vengeful?

The Quran mentions many times that God is the Most Merciful.  In fact, all except one of the 114 chapters of the Quran begin with Bismillaahi Aahmaani Arraheem, which means, "I begin with the name of God, the Entirely Merciful and the Especially Merciful".  These two descriptions of God are sometimes translated as "The Compassionate, the Merciful"; however in Arabic grammar, both names are an intensive form of the word "merciful".  Rahmaan means merciful to all creation, and justice is part of this mercy.  Raheem means merciful especially to the believers and forgiveness is part of this mercy.  A complimentary and comprehensive meaning is intended by the use of both of them together.  In addition, Allah speaks of His forgiveness throughout the Quran.  In fact, God's mercy and forgiveness have been mentioned together more than 70 times in the Quran.  Allah repeatedly reminds us saying ?Tell My servants that I am indeed the Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful; And that My Penalty will be indeed the most grievous Penalty. ? (Quran 15:49-50)

Allah is just, and His justice necessitates that He reward those who obey and serve Him and punish those who disobey and rebel against Him.  If Allah did not punish the sinful, wicked and evil people who deserve to be punished, it would not be justice.  When punishment for wrongdoing is certain, it serves to deter potential offenders.  In contrast, if Allah forgave everyone and punished no one, there would be no reason for legislation, ethics or even morality.

Life on earth would be chaotic and nothing short of anarchy.  True justice, with its true rewards and just penalties can only be found with Allah, and that is what He has promised in the Quran ?We shall set up scales of justice for the Day of Judgment, so that not a soul will be dealt with unjustly in the least, and if there be (no more than) the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it (to account): and enough are We to take account. ? (Quran 21:47)
Allah forgives all those who repent and correct themselves at any stage in their lives, and He has invited all people to His abundant forgiveness and mercy:

Say: ?O My slaves who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the mercy of Allah.  Indeed, Allah forgives all sins.  Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.  And return (in repentance) to your Lord and submit to Him before the punishment comes upon you; then you will not be helped.  And follow the best of what was revealed to you from your Lord before the punishment comes upon you suddenly, while you do not perceive.  (Quran 39:53-5)

Say: "O my Servants who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah: for Allah forgives all sins: for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.  "Turn ye to our Lord (in repentance) and bow to His (Will), before the Penalty comes on you: after that ye shall not be helped.  "And follow the best of (the courses) revealed to you from your Lord, before the Penalty comes on you - of a sudden while ye perceive not!- "Lest the soul should (then) say: 'Ah! Woe is me!- In that I neglected (my duty) towards Allah, and was but among those who mocked!'- "Or (lest) it should say: 'If only Allah had guided me, I should certainly have been among the righteous!'

How can you confirm the existence of life after death?
The Quran teaches that the present life is a trial in preparation for the next realm of our existence.   A day will come when the whole universe will be destroyed and recreated, and the dead will be resurrected to stand in judgment before Allah ?One day the earth will be changed to a different earth, and so will be the heavens, and (men) will be marshalled forth, before Allah, the One, the Irresistible;? (Quran 14:48)

The Day of Resurrection will be the beginning of another life, one that will be eternal.   It is then that every person will be fully compensated by Allah for his or her good and evil deeds.
The explanation that the Quran gives about the necessity of life after death is exactly what the moral consciousness of man demands.   If there were no life after death, the very belief in Allah would become meaningless, or even if one believed in Him, it would then be an unjust and indifferent deity, having once created man and no longer being concerned with his fate.   Surely, Allah is just.   He will punish the tyrants, whose crimes are beyond count - having killed hundreds of innocent people, created great corruption in society, enslaved

numerous persons to serve their own whims, and so on.   Because one has a short life span in this world and since numerous individuals are affected by one's actions, adequate punishments and rewards are not possible in this life.   The Quran very emphatically states that the Day of Judgment will come and that Allah will decide the fate of each soul.
Each and every human being longs for justice.   Even if one does not uphold it for others they want justice for themselves.   For example, tyrants and oppressors who are intoxicated by power and influence and inflict pain and suffering on others will object vehemently if any injustice is done to them.   The reason such people become insensitive to the suffering of others is that they feel that power and influence prevents others from doing injustice to them.

Any person who has suffered injustice, irrespective of financial or social status, almost certainly wants its perpetrator to be punished.   Though a large number of criminals are punished, many of them get off lightly or even scot-free.   They may continue to lead pleasant, even luxurious lives and enjoy a peaceful existence.   Allah may not punish a criminal in this world but He will surely hold him accountable on the Day of Judgment and punish him

The wrongdoer may receive part of the justice that is due to him in this world, but it will remain incomplete.
The same is true of someone who deserves great reward and repayment - who has done much good, helped or taught many people, saved lives, suffered to uphold truth or patiently endured much hardship or injustice.   No earthly compensation is adequate for such relentless courage and effort.   These types of deeds can only be repaid in full in an eternal life where every individual affected by one's actions will testify for or against that person, and where one's innermost thoughts and intentions, known only to Allah, will be exposed and judged precisely and perfectly.

Belief in the Hereafter is completely logical.   Allah has made certain things pleasing and desirable to us in this worldly life, such as justice, although it is usually unattainable.   Though a person may obtain a good portion of earthly pleasures and many of his objectives, one remains convinced that the world is unjust.

Now, why would the Creator implant in us the love for something we may not experience? The answer is that this life is only one portion of our existence and the Hereafter is the necessary conclusion which balances everything out.   Whatever is missing here will be found there; and similarly, whatever is gained unlawfully here will result in deprivation there.   That is the perfect and absolute justice Allah has promised.

Finally, Allah is able to create and re-create as He wills.   He creates whatever He wills, however He wills, whenever He wills.   Allah, the Exalted, says ?even as We produced the first creation, so shall We produce a new one: a promise We have undertaken: truly shall We fulfil it.  ? (Quran 21:104)

Muhammad had religious discussions with Jews and Christians
The allegation that these Jews and Christians were its source is groundless, especially since the role of Prophet Muhammad was merely that of a teacher; he openly invited them to embrace Islam, pointing out how they had deviated from God's true teaching of monotheism.  Numerous Jews and Christians embraced Islam themselves upon hearing Muhammad?s message.

In addition, it was known that Muhammad was unlettered.  In His divine wisdom, Allah chose His final Messenger to be an unlettered man so no one would have the slightest justification to doubt him or accuse him of writing or copying the Quran.  Moreover, there was no Arabic version of the Bible in existence at the time of Prophet Muhammad.  The earliest Arabic version of the Old Testament is that of R.  Saadias Gaon of 900 CE - more than 250 years after the death of Muhammad .

We have mentioned that the Quran contains scientific miracles, and we presented a few facts stated within the book to evidence that it could not possibly have been known at that time by Muhammad or by any other person for that matter.  More and more recent scientific discoveries are being found to coincide with what is stated in the Quran, and this is irrefutable evidence that its source was none but the all-knowing God - Allah, the Almighty.

There are some similarities between the Quran and the Bible
But this is not sufficient grounds to accuse Muhammad of compiling or copying from the Bible.  The similarities between the two do not indicate that later prophets plagiarized from previous ones, but

merely point to a common source, who is the one true God, and to the continuation of the basic message of monotheism.
The coming of the unlettered Prophet was prophesized in the Bible: "And the book is delivered to him that is not learned. " (Isaiah 29:12)

The Quran says nothing about Jesus
Jesus was among the prominent messengers who were mentioned in detail in the Quran.   In fact, there is a chapter in the Quran named Maryam (Mary) that speaks about Mary and her son Jesus.   Jesus is also mentioned in various other places throughout the Quran.   Here are some of the Quranic quotations regarding Mary and Jesus:

?Relate in the Book (the story of) Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place in the East.   She placed a screen (to screen herself) from them; then We sent her our angel, and he appeared before her as a man in all respects.   She said: "I seek refuge from thee to (Allah) Most Gracious: (come not near) if thou dost fear Allah.  " He said: "Nay, I am only a messenger from thy Lord, (to announce) to thee the gift of a holy son.

She said: "How shall I have a son, seeing that no man has touched me, and I am not unchaste?" He said: "So (it will be): Thy Lord saith, 'that is easy for Me: and (We wish) to appoint him as a Sign unto men and a Mercy from Us': It is a matter (so) decreed.  " So she conceived him, and she retired with him to a remote place.   And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm-tree: She cried (in her anguish): "Ah! would that I had died before this! would that I had been a thing forgotten and out of sight!" But (a voice) cried to her from beneath the (palm-tree): "Grieve not! for thy Lord hath provided a rivulet beneath thee; "And shake towards thyself the trunk of the palm-tree: It will let fall fresh ripe dates upon thee.   "So eat and drink and cool (thine) eye.

And if thou dost see any man, say, 'I have vowed a fast to (Allah) Most Gracious, and this day will I enter into not talk with any human being'" At length she brought the (babe) to her people, carrying him (in her arms).   They said: "O Mary! truly an amazing thing hast thou brought! "O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a man of evil, nor thy mother a woman

unchaste!" But she pointed to the babe.   They said: "How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?" He said: "I am indeed a servant of Allah: He hath given me revelation and made me a prophet; "And He hath made me blessed wheresoever I be, and hath enjoined on me Prayer and Charity as long as I live; "(He) hath made me kind to my mother, and not overbearing or miserable; "So peace is on me the day I was born, the day that I die, and the day that I shall be raised up to life (again)"! Such (was) Jesus the son of Mary: (it is) a statement of truth, about which they (vainly) dispute.   It is not befitting to (the majesty of) Allah that He should beget a son.   Glory be to Him! when He determines a matter, He only says to it, "Be", and it is.   Verily Allah is my Lord and your Lord: Him therefore serve ye: this is a Way that is straight.  ? Islam opposed to knowledge and science
Islam is not opposed to knowledge and science.  Knowledge is of two types: religious, which has to do with the understanding of the religious duties one is required to carry out, and temporal, which has to do with all that is needed to know with a view to living a comfortable and beneficial life.

A Muslim is required to acquire both types of knowledge.  In fact, Islam advocated attaining knowledge and education at a time when the whole world was engulfed in utter ignorance.  The first revelation the Prophet of Islam received from Allah was ?Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created - Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- Taught man that which he knew not. ? (Quran 96:1-5)

These verses represent the first spark ever to dispel the darkness of ignorance and barbarianism in which the world had long been immersed.  And Allah reminded the Muslims of His immeasurable favour to humankind, saying: ?It is He Who has sent amongst the Unlettered a messenger from among themselves, to rehearse to them His Signs, to sanctify them, and to instruct them in Scripture and Wisdom,- although they had been, before, in manifest error? (Quran 62:2)

The early generations of Muslims became, in a matter of years, a learned and refined nation in religious as well as worldly matters, after having remained in the darkness of ignorance for centuries.  Islam awakened in man the faculty of intellect and motivated him to serve Allah, the one true God.

Religious knowledge is essential, because, without it, one will not be able to perform his or her obligations in the prescribed manner.  The Prophet said,
?To whomever He intends benefit, Allah grants understanding of the religion. ?
Allah ordered the Prophet to pray to Him for advancement in knowledge "O my Lord! advance me in knowledge. ? (Quran 20:114)
Beneficial worldly knowledge is also necessary, and Muslims are encouraged to acquire it in order to benefit themselves and their fellow men.  When the early Muslims understood this fact, they surpassed other nations in development and productivity and carried the torch of knowledge for many centuries.

Islam made great advances in the fields of medicine, mathematics, physics, astronomy, geography, architecture, art, literature, and history, to mention but a few.  Many important new procedures such as the use of algebra, Arabic numerals, and the concept of the zero ?which was vital to the advancement of mathematics-, were transmitted to medieval Europe from Muslim countries.  It was the Muslims who developed sophisticated instruments, including the astrolabe, the quadrant and good navigational maps which were to make possible the European voyages of discovery to the New World.
As T. W.  Wallbank and A.  Schrier put it:

?In medicine, mathematics, astronomy, chemistry and physics, Muslim achievements were particularly noteworthy.  Well-equipped hospitals, usually associated with medical schools, were located in the principal cities.  At a time when superstition still hampered the practice of medicine in western countries, Muslim physicians were diagnosing diseases, prescribing cures and performing advanced surgery. . .  Probably the greatest of all physicians was the 9th century figure, Al-Razi, known in the West as Rhazes.  He was the author of scores of scientific works, including a comprehensive medical encyclopaedia and a pioneering handbook on smallpox and measles.
A 10th century physician, Avicenna, (Ibn Sina) compiled a huge Cannon of Medicine which was considered the standard guide in European medical circles until the late 17th century. . .  Important advances were made in algebra, analytical geometry and plane spherical trigonometry. ?

The Quran itself is a book of guidance and it contains some amazing scientific facts.  They are amazing because although they were revealed to Prophet Muhammad over 14 centuries ago, they were not really understood by man until scientists "discovered" them in very recent times.  Although not meant to be a book of scientific facts as such, the Quran mentions certain realities that would only be recognized and appreciated through technological advancements in later centuries - further undeniable evidence and proof that it was not the work of Muhammad or of any person, but divine revelation from God.

The Quran says that only Allah knows what is in the womb
Does this not contradict medical science? To answer this we should look at the verses that relate to this matter ?and He Who knows what is in the wombs.  Nor does any one know what it is that he will earn on the morrow: Nor does any one know in what land he is to die? (Quran 31:34)

?Allah doth know what every female (womb) doth bear, by how much the wombs fall short (of their time or number) or do exceed.  Every single thing is before His sight, in (due) proportion. ? (Quran 13:Cool
If one reads the Arabic text of this verse, they will find that there is no Arabic word that corresponds to the English word 'sex' or 'gender'.  The Quran mentions only the knowledge of ?what? is in the womb.  Many have misunderstood this to mean the sex of the child in the womb, which is incorrect.

Today, science has indeed advanced, and we can easily determine the sex of the child in the womb of a pregnant mother using ultrasound scanning.  Therefore, the above verse refers to every aspect of the fetus' present and future existence.  What will be the child?s nature? Will the child be a blessing or a curse to the parents? What will happen to him or her throughout life? Will he or she do good or evil? How long will he or she live? Will he or she end up in Paradise or in Hell? Allah alone knows all of this. . .  no scientist in the world, no matter how advanced the technology, will ever be able to determine these things about a child in the mother?s womb.

qibla change in islam

There are more than 1.   5 billion Muslims in the world, and each time they pray, they turn their faces in one direction, towards Mecca.     The Islamic term for this direction is qibla.     When a Muslim prepares to pray, no matter where he is, he turns towards the qibla, the direction of the Kaba.     The Kaba is a small cube shaped building in the courtyard of the mosque known as Masjid Al Haram, in the city of Mecca, in the country of Saudi Arabia.

?For every nation there is a direction to which they face (in their prayers).     So hasten towards all that is good.     Wheresoever you may be, God will bring you together (on the Day of Resurrection).     Truly, God is Able to do all things.     And from wheresoever you start forth (for prayers), turn your face in the direction of Al-Masjid-al-Haram (at Mecca), that is indeed the truth from your Lord.     And God is not unaware of what you do.   ? (Quran 2:148-149)

Muslims do not worship the Kaba, or its contents, it is simply a focal point.     Muslims worship One God, the Most Merciful, and the Most Wise.     God decreed that when Muslims pray they all face one direction.     It is a sign of unity that encapsulates the unity embedded in the religion of Islam.

The Arabic word for prayer is salah and it demotes a connection between the believer and God; when all believers face the same direction it adds an extra dimension to the connection.     The prayer connects the believers to God and the qibla connects the believers to one another.     It has been said that if one could observe all the Muslims at prayer we would be able to see lines of worshippers bowing and prostrating like the petals of a flower opening and closing in unison.

The qibla was not always oriented towards Mecca.     The first Muslims prayed towards the al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.     Around sixteen months after Prophet Muhammad and his followers migrated from Mecca to the city of Medina, the qibla was changed to the Kaba.     According to accounts by Prophet Muhammad's companions, the change happened very suddenly.     During the noon prayer, Prophet Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, received a revelation from God instructing him to, "Turn your face towards the Masjid al Haram".

?Thus, we have made you real believers in Islamic Monotheism, true followers of Prophet Muhammad and his legal ways, a just nation, witnesses over mankind and the Messenger a witness over you.     And We made the Qibla (prayer direction towards Jerusalem) which you used to face, only to test those who followed the Messenger from those who would turn on their heels (i.   e.    disobey the Messenger).     Indeed, it was great (heavy) except for those whom God guided.     And God would never make your prayers to be lost (i.   e.    your prayers offered towards Jerusalem).     Truly, God is full of kindness, the Most Merciful towards humankind.   ?

?Verily!  We have seen the turning of your (Muhammad) face towards the heaven.     Surely, We shall turn you to a Qibla (prayer direction) that shall please you, so turn your face in the direction of Al-Masjid- al-Haram (at Mecca).     And wheresoever you people are, turn your faces (in prayer) in that direction.   .   .   ? (Quran 2:143-144)

Changing the direction of prayer establishes Mecca as the fixed central point for worship.     It establishes a common sense or purpose.

Throughout the centuries, mathematicians and astronomers have established correct ways to determine the qibla (direction) from any point on the earth?s surface.     There are two precise moments each year when the sun is directly above the Kaba, thus the direction of shadows in any sunlit place will point away from the qibla.     There are also two moments per year when the sun is directly over the exact opposite position of the Kaba, thus pointing towards the qibla.

It is important the Muslims make every effort to face the right direction when praying; however, slight deviations do not invalidate a person?s prayer.     Prophet Muhammad said, ?What is between the east and the west is qibla?.   [1]  Nowadays it is easy to locate the qibla.     It is a simple matter to look at a map and draw a line between your location and the city of Mecca.     Compasses and computer programs that locate the qibla are readily available and most mosques throughout the world have a niche in the wall to indicate the qibla.

Islam is a religion of unity.     Muslims are united by their belief in One God.     They are one brotherhood united in the language and ritual of prayer and united by the direction of their worship.     The qibla is not only about degrees of latitude or longitude it is about unity.     It is about humankind united in the worship of the One God, Creator, and Sustainer of the universe.

14.   Human beings are created from dust and it also mentions that they are created from sperm.   Isn't this contradictory?
?We made from water every living thing.  ? (Quran 21:30) And He said ?O mankind! if ye have a doubt about the Resurrection, (consider) that We created you out of dust, then out of sperm, then out of a leech-like clot, then out of a morsel of flesh, partly formed and

partly unformed, in order that We may manifest (our power) to you; and We cause whom We will to rest in the wombs for an appointed term, then do We bring you out as babes, then (foster you) that ye may reach your age of full strength; and some of you are called to die, and some are sent back to the feeblest old age, so that they know nothing after having known (much)? (Quran 22:5)

?Just ask their opinion: are they the more difficult to create, or the (other) beings We have created? Them have We created out of a sticky clay!? (Quran 37:11)
In the preceding verses, Allah has mentioned various stages of human creation.   The creation of man according to the Quran was first from water and dust, which when combined became clay.   This refers to the creation of humanity's first ancestor, Adam.   Then Allah decreed that his descendants would reproduce after that according to the same natural law that is applied to many other living beings.

Sometimes the Quran refers to semen as "water", meaning fluid.   So when Allah says in the Quran that He created every living thing from water, it can indicate that everything in creation; humans, animals and plants have all been created from water and depend upon water for their continued existence.   But a similar verse: And Allah has created every creature from water.  10 can also mean that human beings and animals are created from their fathers' semen or sperm.   This is confirmed by other verses, such as: Did We not create you from a liquid disdained?
As for scientific evidence, research has confirmed that the body of man, like that of other living beings, is made up predominantly of water, and that the elements of the human body are exactly the same as those found in the earth?s soil in greater or smaller quantities.

15.  Islam oppress women
In answering this question, we must differentiate between the teachings of Islam and the practice of some Muslims.  Although some Muslim cultures oppress women, it often reflects local customs that are inconsistent, if not contrary to Islamic teachings.  Islam expects its adherents to uphold the rights of women, to protect their social status and prevent their degradation in every way.  Islam further holds that women are equal to men in their origin, their humanity, their honor and their accountability before God.

Today, Western societies have actually demoted women to sex objects.  The United States of America is one of the leading advocates of the so-called ?women?s liberation? movement.  Ironically, it also has one of the highest rates of sexual assault and rape in the world.  According to an FBI report, in the year 1990, an average of 1756 rapes were committed in the US every single day.
The idea that Islam treats women as second class citizens worth half a man is nothing but a myth.  Islam elevated the status of women over 1,400 years ago by declaring them the sisters of men, giving them the right to education to the highest level, the right to choose a husband, the right to end an unhappy marriage, the right to inheritance, in general, the rights of a full citizen of the state.  Not only material and physical rights, but those of kindness and consideration are equally specified and significant in Islamic law.

Men and women are two equally important component parts of humanity, and the rights and responsibilities of both sexes are equitable and balanced in their totality.  Roles of men and women are complementary and collaborative.  Although their obligations might differ in certain areas of life in accordance with their basic physical and psychological differences, each is equally accountable for their particular responsibilities.  Ignoring these differences is surely unrealistic, but there is no reason to assume from them that one sex is either superior or inferior to the other in any way.
Under Islamic law, when a Muslim woman gets married she does not surrender her maiden name, but keeps her distinct identity.

In a Muslim marriage, the groom gives a dowry to the bride herself, and not to her father.  This becomes her own personal property to keep, invest or spend, and is not subject to the dictates of any of her male relatives.  The Quran places on men the responsibility of protecting and maintaining all of their female relatives.  It means, as well, that a man must provide for his wife and family even if she has money of her own.  She is not obligated to spend any of her money towards the maintenance of her family.  This relieves a woman of the need to earn a living, but she can work if she chooses to do so or if her circumstances warrant it.
The family, like any other organization, needs order and leadership.  The Quran states that the husband has a "degree" of authority over his wife, which means guardianship.  It is important to note, however, that guardianship is in no way a license to be a tyrant within the household.  Rather, it is a burden of responsibility for the husband to care completely for his wife and children.

16.   Muslim women are forced to wear the veil
The matter of women's dress might seem trivial to some, especially in today?s Western societies; however, Islam assigns to it moral, social and legal dimensions.   Islam has defined the roles of men and women by allocating certain duties to each and granting certain rights to each.   This is in order to maintain a proper balance in society.   When men and women observe the proper Islamic dress, they not only protect their own honor and reputation, but they contribute greatly towards peace and order in society.

In general, there are certain guidelines concerning Muslim women?s dress.   Their garments should not be tight or translucent as to reveal the shape of what is covered.   They must cover their entire bodies except the hands and face.   This mode of dress is called "Jilbaab" which refers to a woman's outer garment, with which she is entirely covered.   Muslim women do not dress modestly in obedience to their fathers, brothers or husbands, but only in obedience to God?s commandments.

Both men and women are expected to be chaste and modest and avoid any type of dress and conduct that may invite temptation.   Both are instructed to look only at what is lawful for them to see and to guard their chastity.   Allah directs men first and then women in the Quran:

?Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: And Allah is well acquainted with all that they do.   And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers or their brothers'

sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments.   And O ye Believers! turn ye all together towards Allah, that ye may attain Bliss.  ? (Quran 24:30-31)
The additional requirement for women to conceal their adornment and natural beauty is due to their greater need for privacy and protection.   Except in the company of close relatives, a woman is required to cover her entire body with loose fitting garments with the exception of her face and hands.

The Quran states why Allah has prescribed particular dress regulations for women ?O Prophet! Tell thy wives and daughters, and the believing women, that they should cast their outer garments over their persons (when abroad): that is most convenient, that they should be known (as such) and not molested.   And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.  ? (Quran 33:59)

17.   Islam permit polygamy
Polygamy is a form of marriage wherein a person has more than one spouse.   Polygamy can be of two types.   The first type is called polygyny, where a man marries more than one woman, and the other is polyandry, where a woman marries more than one man.   In Islam, a limited form of polygyny is permitted, whereas polyandry is completely prohibited.

In contrast to Islam, one will not find a limit for the number of wives in the Jewish Talmud or the Christian Bible.   According to these scriptures, there is no limit to how many women a man may marry.   Therefore, polygyny is not something exclusive to Islam but was practiced by early Christians and Jews as well.   According to the Talmud, Abraham had three wives, while King Solomon had hundreds of wives.   The practice of polygyny continued in Judaism until Rabbi Gershom ben Yehudah (955-1030 CE) issued an edict against it.

The Jewish Sephardic communities continued the practice until as late as 1950, when an Act of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel extended the ban on marrying more than one wife, thus prohibiting the practice for all Jews.   In the early teachings of Christianity, men were permitted to take as many wives as they wished, since the Bible placed no limit on the number of wives a man could marry.   It was only in recent centuries that the Church limited the number of wives to one.
At a time when men were permitted an unlimited number of wives, Islam limited the number to a maximum of four.   Before the Quran was revealed, there was no upper limit for polygyny and many men had scores of wives.   It gives a man permission to marry two, three or four women, on the condition that he deals with all of them equitably, benevolently and justly, as indicated by Allah's statement ?Marry women of your choice, Two or three or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one? (Quran 4:3)

It is not incumbent upon Muslims to practice polygyny.   In Islam, taking an additional wife is neither encouraged nor prohibited.   Furthermore, a Muslim who has two, three or four wives may not be a better Muslim as compared to a Muslim who has only one wife.
John Esposito, a professor of religion and international affairs and Islamic studies at Georgetown University, writes: "Although it is found in many religious and cultural traditions, polygamy is most often identified with Islam in the minds of Westerners.   In fact, the Quran and Islamic Law sought to control and regulate the number of spouses rather than give free license.  " He continues: "The Quran allows a man to marry up to four wives, provided he can support and treat them all equally.   Muslims regard this Quranic command as strengthening the status of women and the family, for it sought to ensure the welfare of single women and widows in a society whose male population was diminished by warfare, and to curb unrestricted polygamy.  " (John Esposito, Islam: The Straight Path)
There are certain circumstances which warrant the taking of another wife.   For example, if there is a surplus of unmarried women in society, especially during times of war when widows are in need of shelter and care.   Infant mortality rates among males are higher when compared to that of females.   During wars, there are usually more men killed than women.   Statistically, more men die due to accidents and diseases than women.   The average life span of females is also generally longer than that of males.   As a result at any given time in practically any given place, there is a shortage of men in comparison to women.   Therefore, even if every single man got married to one woman, there would be millions of women who would still not be able to find a husband.

In Western society, it is not uncommon for a man to have girlfriends, or if he is married, to have extramarital affairs.   Seldom is this practice scorned, despite the harms that stem from it.   At the same time, polygyny is banned in western society although it produces none of these adverse effects; rather it preserves the honor and chastity of women.   Within a second, third or fourth marriage the woman is a wife, not a mistress; she has a husband who is obligated by Islamic law to provide for her and her children, not a ?boyfriend? who may one day cast her aside or deny knowing her if she becomes pregnant.

There is no doubt that a second wife who is lawfully married and treated with honor is better off than a mistress without any legal rights or social respect.   Islam strictly prohibits and penalizes prostitution, fornication, and adultery and permits polygyny under strict conditions.

18.  A man is permitted to have more than one wife, then why can?t a woman have more than one husband?
Islam teaches that Allah has created men and women as equals, but not as identical beings.  They are different, physically, biologically and physiologically and each have different capabilities.  Their roles and responsibilities are therefore different but they complement one another.
Some may object to a man having the right to more than one wife by insisting that, in fairness, women should also be able to practice polyandry.  However, the following few points could be part of the reason behind its prohibition by God:
a) One of the benefits of polygyny is that it solves the problem of women outnumbering men.
b) In general, men are polygamous by nature while women are not.
c) Islam assigns great importance to the recognition of parents, both the mother and father.  When a man has more than one wife, the parents of children born in such marriages can easily be identified.  But in the case of a woman marrying more than one husband, only the mother of children born within the marriage would be known without resorting to laboratory tests.  Psychologists tell us that children who do not know their parents, the father in particular, undergo severe mental disturbances and trauma, and often have unhappy childhoods.

19.   Islam impose harsh punishments for sex outside marriage
Punishment in Islam has a social purpose, which is to dissuade others from committing the same crime.   The nature of the punishment depends on the seriousness of the crime in question.   Nowadays, some are opposed to the Islamic punishment for fornication and adultery because they see it as disproportionate or too harsh a punishment.   The basic problem here is the different standards by which the severity of the crime is measured.

Islam views adultery as a very serious crime, because it undermines the very foundation of the family system upon which the whole superstructure of the society is built.   Illicit relationships destabilize the family and bring about the breakdown of the system.   Family breakdown imperils the physical and mental health of future

generations, which in turn leads to a vicious circle of decadence, dissipation, and dissolution.   Therefore, it is imperative that all measures must be taken to protect the family.   That is why Islam emphasizes protection of the family by imposing severe punishments for activities that threaten the family foundation.   These punishments are the same for men and women alike.

There is no overstating of the fact that Islamic punishments are only a part of a vastly larger integrated whole.   There are essential conditions for the application of prescribed punishments in Islam:
First, Muslims are strongly encouraged to marry whenever possible, providing a lawful means of gratification.   Prophet Muhammad said:
?O youths, whoever of you can afford marriage (financially and physically) let him get married; for indeed it lowers the gaze, and keeps one chaste; whoever cannot get married, he should fast, for it safeguards him.  ?

A man may legally take as many as four wives as long as he treats each of them equitably and justly.   In cases of confirmed incompatibility or dissatisfaction, a wife has the right to request the dissolution of the marriage.

Second, Muslims, whether married or unmarried, must adhere to proper dress and behavior guidelines at all times.   Privacy is to be respected and compromising situations strictly avoided as a matter of obedience to Allah.

Third, only a legitimate Islamic government has the right to implement these punishments.   Such an Islamic government must establish justice as its core value in all affairs so that the social and cultural environment of the country is congenial for the moral life of its citizens.   It is only after the above two conditions have been fulfilled that a government is entitled to implement Islamic punishments on its land, and only then does the court gain the authority to judge a case according to its provisions.

And finally, any case that comes before the court for judgment must be investigated thoroughly and proper evidence brought before the court to satisfy all the requirements of Islamic law.   Conviction is subject to strict conditions, which are most difficult to fulfill.   This means that, in reality, the punishments are seldom carried out without the connivance of the criminal, and serve primarily as deterrents.

20.  A woman?s share of inherited wealth half that of a man?s, unfair!
Islam abolished the former practice whereby inheritance went only to the oldest male heir.  According to the Quran, a woman automatically inherits from her father, her husband, her son and her childless brother.  The Quran contains specific guidance regarding the division of the inherited wealth among the rightful beneficiaries.

The three verses that broadly describe the share of close relatives are found in chapter 4, verses 11, 12 and 176.  In these verses, Allah establishes the right of children, parents and spouses to inherit a specific share without leaving the matter to human judgment and emotions.  In the absence of certain close relatives a share is apportioned to more distant ones.  The system of inheritance is a perfectly balanced product of the Creator's knowledge of human need and takes into account His imposition of greater responsibility upon particular members of the family in varying situations.

In most cases, the female inherits a share that is half that of the male.  However, this is not always so.  There are certain instances when they inherit equal shares, and in some cases, a female can inherit a share that is more than that of the male.  But even when the male is given a larger share there is a perfectly logical reason behind it.  In Islam a woman has no financial obligations towards her family, even if she is wealthy or has her own source of income; the economic responsibility always lies upon the man.  As long as a woman remains unmarried, it is the legal obligation of her father, brother or other guardian to provide her food, clothing, medication, housing and other financial needs.  After she is married, it is the duty of her husband or adult son.  Islam holds the man financially responsible for fulfilling all the needs of his family.

So the difference in shares does not mean that one sex is preferred over the other.  It represents a just balance between the roles and responsibilities of family members according to their natural, physical and emotional makeup.  In general, the woman is in charge of running the household and taking care of the needs of those within it, so she is alleviated from financial obligations.  Despite this, she receives a share of inheritance which becomes her own property to save or use as she pleases.  No other person has claim to any portion of her share.  In contrast, the man's share becomes a part of his property from which he is obligated to maintain his children and all female members of the household, so it is constantly being consumed.

Suppose someone died leaving a son and a daughter.  The son's share of inheritance will be depleted when he gives a dowry to his wife and supports his family, including his sister until she marries.  Any additional income will have to be earned through his work.  However, his sister's share remains untouched, or might even increase if she invests it.  When she marries, she will receive a dowry from her husband and will be maintained by him, having no financial responsibilities whatsoever.  Thus, a man might conclude that Islam has favored women over men!

In addition, the Muslim may make a bequest at his own discretion, in which he can will up to one third of his property to anyone who would not inherit otherwise.  The bequest can be a means of assistance to other relatives and people in need, both men and women.  One may also allocate this portion or part of it toward charities and good works of his choice.

The calendar year of Islam begins not with the birthday of our prophet (peace be on him), not from the time that the revelation came to him (Bethat) nor from the time of his ascension to heaven, but with the migration (Hijra) from an undesirable environment into a desirable place to fulfill Allah's command.  It was migration from a plot that was set by the leaders of the Quraysh who were plotting to kill prophet Muhammad, and to destroy the truth that today is being conveyed to mankind everywhere against tyranny and injustice.  Their purpose was to destroy the foundation of the Islamic state, the Sunnah of the tradition of the prophet, and to prevent the revelation being delivered by Allah's messenger to mankind.

The Islamic calendar is reckoned from the time of migration (Hijra) of Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) from Mecca to Madina.  The Prophet's decision to migrate from Mecca came after several years of inhuman treatment of the faithful by the powerful tribes who were united despite all their feuds to stop the spread of Islam.

Prophet Mohammad's decision to leave Mecca coincided with the infidel's plan to assassinate him.  In 622 AD, the Quresh tribesmen held a meeting and decided that a band of young men, one from each tribe, should assassinate Prophet Mohammad collectively so that their responsibility for the murder could not be placed on any particular tribe.

On the eventful night, the Prophet asked his cousin Ali Ben Abutalib to take his place in bed to make the Meccans think that he was asleep.  The Prophet himself slipped out unobserved alongwith his loyal follower Abu Bakr (who was chosen as the first C aliph after the death of the prophet).  They secretly made their way to a cave named Thawr, not far from Mecca and lay in hiding there for a day or two until Abu Bakr's son reported that the search for him had been given up.  Then the two set out from Madina on camel back.  They reached Quba, on the edge of the Madina oasis, on 12th Rabiul Awwal.  With Mohammad's arrival in Quba a new phase of his career and glory of Islam started.

This migration has a special significance in the history of Islam.  It ended the Meccan period of humiliation and torture and began the era of success.  His own people to whom he preached Islam for 13 years neglected the Prophet of Islam.  But he was cordially received in Madina as an honored chief.

In Madina his power enhanced day by day.  Here he was not only the religious leader but took the role of a politician and statesman too.  Prophet Mohammad expired ten years after his migration to Madina but only in one decade he changed the course of human history.

In view of this special significance of the Prophet's migration the consultative body advised the Second Islamic Caliph, Omar ben Khattab, to start the Islamic year from the date of migration of the Prophet from Mecca to Madina.

According to early Moslem scholars, Abu Musa Al Shari drew attention of Omar to an improperly dated debenture or IOU which was payable in the month of Shaban but it was not clear which Shaban was actually meant, the present one or the coming one.  Omar called the dignitaries for consultation who made several suggestions to begin the Islamic calendar.

Ali (who later became the fourth caliph) suggested the Hijra as the beginning of the Islamic year with Moharram as its first month.  Consequently, Caliph Omar in 21 A. H.  or 641 A. D introduced the Islamic calendar in its present form.

QURANIC GUIDANCE

The guidance about the Islamic calendar is taken from the following verses from the Holy Quran: (In the name of GOD most gracious and most merciful)

"Lo the number of the months with God is twelve months. " IX:36.

"They ask thee, of new moons.  Say: They are fixed seasons for mankind and for the pilgrimage. " II:189.

"He it is who appointed the sun a splendor and the moon a light, and measured for her stages, that ye might know the number of the years, and the reckoning. " X:5

The Islamic Calendar of 12 Lunar Months is determined by observation of the new moon with no effort by intercalation (addition) or other means to synchronize the Lunar year with the Solar year.

21.   Islam is a militant religion
In Islam, the use of force is allowed only in special situations, particularly when the Muslim community is threatened by hostile forces.   This is indeed natural and logical for any nation.   Then again, the use of force in a campaign of jihad is determined by the leader of the Muslim community in a very ordered and ethical way.   Islam considers all life forms as sacred, but particularly emphasizes the sanctity of human life ?take not life, which Allah hath made sacred, except by way of justice and law: thus doth He command you, that ye may learn wisdom.  ? (Quran 6:151)
?if any one slew a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people.  ? (Quran 5:32)

Such is the value of a single human life, that Allah equates the taking of even one human life unjustly with killing all of humanity.   It is important to understand that in Islam, war is only permitted in specific and dire circumstances.   It is despised and only permitted as a last resort when all other attempts at peace have been made.   It keeps warfare at a level of mercy and respect for the enemy such as none other has been able to reach.   The Prophet, sometimes had to fight for the mere survival of his mission, but once security was ensured, he immediately reverted to peace and diplomacy.

Even in a state of war, Islam enjoins that armies deal with the enemy justly in the battlefield.   Islam has drawn a clear line of distinction between the combatants and the non-combatants of an enemy country.   The Prophet told his armies, "Do not kill any old person, any child or any woman.  ? And he said: "Do not kill the monks in monasteries.  "
Upon seeing the corpse of a woman on a battlefield, Prophet Muhammad angrily asked his companions why she had been killed, and he strongly condemned the atrocious act.   For those enemies active in combat and those taken as prisoners of war, the list of rights is lengthy.   There should be no torture; no killing of the wounded or defenseless, no mutilation of enemy bodies and return of corpses to the enemy must be honored.   In light of the aforementioned, it becomes crystal clear that Islam does not permit aggression, violence, injustice, or oppression.   At the same time, it calls for morality, justice, tolerance, and peace.

Far from being a militant dogma, Islam is a way of life that transcends race and ethnicity.   The Quran repeatedly reminds us of our common origin ?O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other).   Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you.  ? (Quran 49:13)
It is the universality of its teachings that makes Islam the fastest growing religion in the world.   In a world full of conflicts and deep schisms between human beings, a world that is currently plagued with terrorism, perpetrated by individuals and by states, Islam is a beacon of light that offers hope for the future.

It is very unfortunate that nowadays, Islam has become synonymous with "terrorism".   Far from promoting terrorism, Islam is a religion of peace whose fundamentals teach its followers to maintain and promote peace and justice throughout the world.   Islam does not condone ?terrorism? as defined and understood nowadays: plane hijackings, hostage taking and the torturing and killing of innocents in order to achieve political or even religious goals.   This is not how Islam teaches Muslims to solve their problems, achieve their goals, or to spread their religion.

The question that should be posed instead is: Do the teachings of Islam encourage terrorism? Certainly not - Islam totally prohibits all terrorist acts.   It should be remembered that all religions have misguided followers.   To be evenhanded and just, one must consider the teachings of the religion, as they are the yardstick by which the actions of its adherents can be assessed as being right or wrong.
It is completely unfair to judge Islam by the wrongdoings of some misguided or ignorant Muslims, or by the deteriorating condition of Muslims and the blatant corruption that pervades the Muslim world.   In fact, what Islam preaches is one thing and what so many Muslims nowadays practice is something completely different.

The only way we can do justice to Islam is to find out about its noble teachings, which are clearly set out in the Quran and prophetic traditions.   Former pop singer Cat Stevens, now known as Yousef Islam, observed: "It is wrong to judge Islam in the light of the behavior of some deviant Muslims who are always shown on the media.   It is like judging a car to be bad if the driver is drunk and he crashes it into a wall.  "
Islam is a religion of peace, which is acquired by submitting one?s will to the will of the supreme Creator, God.   Islam promotes peace but at the same time, it exhorts its followers to fight oppression.   The fight against oppression may, at times, require the use of force, and sometimes force has to be used to maintain peace.

Certainly, Islamic law allows war under particular circumstances.   Any religion or civilization that does not, would never survive.   But Islam never condones attacks against innocent people, women or children.   Islam also clearly forbids "taking the law into one's own hands", which means that individual Muslims cannot go around deciding who they want to kill or punish.   Trial and punishment must only be carried out by a lawful authority and a qualified judge.

22.  Islam was spread by the sword
It is another common misconception among some non-Muslims that Islam would not have the millions of adherents it has all over the world, had it not been spread by the use of force.
The following proofs will make it clear, that far from being forcefully ?spread by the sword?, it was the inherent force of truth, reason and logic that was responsible for the rapid spread of Islam.
Islam has always given respect and freedom of religion to all faiths.  Freedom of religion is ordained in the Quran itself ?Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. ? (Quran 2:256)

The noted historian De Lacy O?Leary wrote: "History makes it clear however, that the legend of fanatical Muslims sweeping through the world and forcing Islam at the point of the sword upon conquered races is one of the most fantastically absurd myths that historians have ever repeated. "

Another famous historian, Thomas Carlyle, in his book Heroes and Hero worship, refers to this misconception about the spread of Islam: "The sword indeed, but where will you get your sword? Every new opinion, at its starting is precisely in a minority of one; in one man?s head alone.  There it dwells as yet.  One man alone of the whole world believes it, there is one man against all men.  That he takes a sword and tries to propagate with that will do little for him.  You must get your sword! On the whole, a thing will propagate itself as it can. "
If Islam was indeed spread by the sword, it was the sword of intellect and convincing arguments that was used.  It is only this type of sword that conquers the hearts and minds of people.  The Quran says in this connection ?Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious?.

The facts speak for themselves:
Indonesia is the country that has the largest number of Muslims in the world, and the majority of people in Malaysia are Muslims.  But, no Muslim army ever entered Indonesia or Malaysia.  It is an established historical fact that Indonesia entered Islam not due to war, but because of its moral message.  Despite the disappearance of Islamic government from many regions once ruled by it, their original inhabitants have remained Muslims.
Moreover, they carried the message of truth, inviting others to it as well, and in so doing endured harm, affliction and oppression.  The same can be said for those in the regions of Syria and Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, North Africa, Asia, the Balkans and in Spain.  This shows that the effect of Islam on the population was one of moral conviction, in contrast to occupation by western colonialists, finally compelled to leave lands whose peoples held only memories of affliction, sorrow, subjugation and oppression.

- Muslims ruled Spain (Andalusia) for about 800 years.  During this period, the Christians and Jews enjoyed freedom to practice their respective religions, and this is a documented historical fact.

- Christian and Jewish minorities have survived in the Muslim lands of the Middle East for centuries.  Countries such as Egypt, Morocco, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan all have significant Christian and Jewish populations.
- Muslims ruled India for about a thousand years, and therefore had the power to force each and every non-Muslim resident of India to convert to Islam, but they did not, and thus more than 80% of the Indian population remains non-Muslim.
- Similarly, Islam spread rapidly on the East Coast of Africa.  And likewise no Muslim army was ever dispatched to the East Coast of Africa.
- An article in Reader?s Digest ?Almanac?, yearbook 1986, gives the statistics of the increase of the percentage of the major religions of the world in half a century from 1934 to 1984.  This article also appeared in The Plain Truth magazine.  At the top was Islam, which increased by 235%, while Christianity had increased by 47%.  During this fifty- year period, there was no ?Islamic conquest? yet Islam spread at such an extraordinary rate.
- Today, the fastest growing religion in North America, Europe, and Africa is Islam.  The Muslims in most of these lands constitute a minority.  The only sword they have in their possession is the sword of truth.  It is this sword that is converting thousands to Islam.
- Islamic law protects the privileged status of minorities, and that is why non-Muslim places of worship have flourished all over the Islamic world.  Islamic law also allows non-Muslim minorities to set up their own courts, which implement family laws drawn up by the minorities themselves.  The life and property of all citizens in an Islamic state are considered sacred whether they are Muslims or not.

It is clear, therefore, that Islam was not spread by the sword.  The often-alleged "sword of Islam" did not convert all the non-Muslim minorities in Muslim countries.  In India, where Muslims ruled for about a thousand years, they are still a minority.  In the U. S. A.  and Canada Islam is the fastest growing religion and has over seven million followers.
In his book The World's Religions, Huston Smith discusses how the Prophet Muhammad granted freedom of religion to the Jews and Christians under Muslim rule:
The Prophet had a document drawn up in which he stipulated that Jews and Christians "shall be protected from all insults and harm; they shall have an equal right with our own people to our assistance and good offices," and further, "they shall practice their religion as freely as the Muslims. "
Smith points out that Muslims regard that document as the first charter of freedom of conscience in human history and the authoritative model for those of every subsequent Muslim state.

The Quran says that Muslims should kill the non-believers wherever they find them.

There are a few verses from the Quran that are quite often misquoted or quoted out of context to perpetuate the myth that Islam promotes violence and exhorts its followers to kill those outside the fold of Islam.  The words Kill the polytheists wherever you find them are often quoted to portray that Islam promotes violence, bloodshed and brutality.

In order to understand the context, it is necessary to read from the beginning of the chapter.  It discloses that there was a peace treaty between the Muslims and the pagans of Mecca.  The pagans violated this treaty, so a period of four months was given them to make amends; otherwise war would be declared against them.  The complete verse actually says:

?But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. ? (Quran 9:5)

This verse is a command to the Muslims who had entered into an agreement with the pagans, who soon violated the agreement, to fight and kill those who betrayed them wherever they found them.  It would seem that any open-minded person would consider the historical context of this verse and agree that it cannot be used as ?evidence? that Islam promotes violence, brutality and bloodshed, or that it exhorts its followers to kill anyone outside the fold of Islam.
The very next verse gives the answer to the allegation that Islam promotes violence, brutality and bloodshed ?If one amongst the Pagans ask thee for asylum, grant it to him, so that he may hear the word of Allah; and then escort him to where he can be secure.  That is because they are men without knowledge. ? (Quran 9:6)
The Quran not only stipulates that a pagan seeking asylum during the battle should be granted refuge, but also that he is escorted to safety.  In the present age, what military commander would direct his soldiers not just to spare an enemy during battle, but to escort him to a place of safety? Yet, that is exactly what Almighty Allah instructs in the Quran.

Arun Shourie, one of the most persistent critics of Islam in India, quotes the same verse (9:5) in his book, The World of Fatwas, p.  572.  But alter quoting it, he skips the next verse and jumps to the one after it.  This is a clear indication that some of the opponents of Islam are biased and prejudiced in their criticism.

This idea can be easily be disproved, as only about 15 to 20 percent of Muslims in the world are Arabs.  There are more Indian Muslims than Arab Muslims, and more Indonesian Muslims than Indian Muslims.  This assumption is possibly based on the fact that most of the first generation of Muslims were Arabs, that the Quran is in Arabic and that the Prophet Muhammad was an Arab.

However, history testifies that the Prophet, his followers and the early Muslims made every effort to spread the message of Islam to all nations, races and peoples.  From the very beginning of the mission of Prophet Muhammad his followers came from a wide spectrum of countries and races.  Among them was Bilal, the African slave; Suhaib, the Byzantine Roman; Abdullah bin Salam, the Jewish Rabbi; and Salman, the Persian.

Furthermore, it should be clarified that not all Muslims are Arabs and not all Arabs are Muslims.  An Arab might be a Muslim, Christian, Jew, atheist or follower of any other religion or ideology.  Additionally, some countries - such as Turkey and Iran (Persia) - that uninformed people consider to be "Arab" are not Arab at all.  The people who live in those countries speak languages other than Arabic and are of a different ethnic heritage.

Since religious truth is eternal and unchanging, and humanity is considered one universal brotherhood, Islam teaches that God's revelations to humanity have always been consistent, clear and universal.  The truth of Islam is meant for all people regardless of race, nationality, cultural or linguistic background.  A brief look at the Muslim World, from Nigeria to Bosnia and from Malaysia to Afghanistan is sufficient proof that Islam offers a universal appeal; a message for all of mankind - not to mention the fact that significant numbers of Europeans and Americans of all races and ethnic backgrounds are finding and coming into Islam.  The Quran clearly says, And We have not sent you ?We have not sent thee but as a universal (Messenger) to men, giving them glad tidings, and warning them (against sin), but most men understand not. ? (Quran 34:28)

We would now like our readers to ask themselves what they think are the reasons for all the propaganda and misinformation currently being perpetuated about Islam.  If Islam was just another false religion that made no sense, would so many feel a need to invent so many falsehoods about it? The reason is merely that the ultimate truth of Islam stands on unshakable ground, and that its basic fundamental belief in the oneness of Allah is above reproach.  Thomas Carlyle said:

A false man found a religion? Why, a false man cannot build a brick house! If he does not know and follow truly the properties of mortar, burnt clay and what else he works in, it is no house that he makes, but a rubbish- heap.  It will not stand for twelve centuries, to lodge a hundred and eighty millions; it will fall straightway.  A man must conform himself to Nature?s laws, be verily in communion with Nature and the truth of things, or Nature will answer him, No, not at all! Speciosities are specious - ah me! - a Cagliostro, many Cagliostros, prominent world-leaders, do prosper by their quackery, for a day.  It is like a forged

bank-note; they get it passed out of their worthless hands: others, not they, have to smart for it.  Nature bursts up in fire-flames; French Revolutions and such like, proclaiming with terrible veracity that forged notes are forged.  But of a Great Man especially, of him, I will venture to assert that it is incredible he should have been other than true.  It seems to me the primary foundation of him, and of all that can lie in him, is this.

, we must never rely on second hand information to understand the religion of Islam.  Rather, it needs to be studied from its authentic sources and by speaking to sincere, practicing Muslims.  , one will surely find a different picture than what is commonly projected by the Western media.  A person may even find that Islam provides the answers for all the questions and challenges in life

Have you ever wondered why a nun can be covered from head to toe and she?s respected for devoting herself to God, but when a Muslim woman covers, she?s viewed as ?oppressed?? Or why a Jew can grow a beard and he?s just practicing his faith, and when a Muslim does that, he?s an ?extremist??

People in the west seem to have many misconceptions about Muslims and Islam.  Many believe that the western world is advanced, enlightened and liberated, while Islam is just the opposite: primitive, ignorant and oppressed.  One reason for this belief is that the media has time and again portrayed the Muslims in a way contrary to Islamic teachings.  The key to understanding Islam and Muslims is to resist stereotypes and examine each situation according to Islamic teachings, and NOT some Muslims? actions

1: Hijab is oppressive:

So what exactly is hijab? To observe the hijab, Muslim women are required to cover their body with modest clothes that don?t reveal their figure in front of male strangers.  However, hijab is not just about outer appearances; it is also about noble speech, modesty, dignified and righteous conduct.  It goes without saying that these manners are also required of men.

There is nothing in hijab that restricts a Muslim woman?s freedom to express her views and opinion, to own property, to have an education and a career, or to choose a husband.  The hijab is an act of honour and dignity, an empowerment, and a guarantee that a woman will be judged according to her inner spiritual beauty rather than her outer superficial appearance.  The hijab liberates and raises a woman?s status, and demands that she be judged according to her intellect rather than her sexuality.

The reason Muslim women observe hijab is simply because Allah (God) made it a compulsory act of worship for them, and Allah knows what is best for His creation.

The hijab gives women the freedom to be active members of society, while maintaining their modesty.  The hijab is meant for the public as women do not have to observe hijab when they are at home with their family!

The hijab does not symbolize suppression, oppression or silence.  Rather, it is a shield guarding against degrading remarks, unwanted advances and unfair discrimination.  Of all converts to Islam, 75% are women! Would you enter a religion that oppresses you? So the next time you see a Muslim woman, know that she covers her physical appearance, not her mind or intellect! Allah says:

?O Prophet, tell your wives and daughters and the believing women to draw their outer garments around them (when they go out or are among men).  That is better in order that they may be known (to be chaste women) and not abused. . . ? Qur?an 33:59

2: Islam oppresses women:

One of the most disturbing misconceptions is the negative portrayal of women in Islam namely that Islam degrades and oppresses women.  According to the teachings of Islam, the only thing that distinguishes people in the sight of God is their level of piety.

This verse proves that real honour and status is not attained because a person is rich or poor, black or white, male or female but attained through piety and devoutness.  Therefore, it comes as no surprise to learn that for every male convert to Islam, four females convert.  Some reasons for this overwhelming female conversion rate are due to the following rights enshrined in Islam:

? total control of their wealth;

? choose their spouse;

? keep their own surname when married;

? own property, operate a business, study, and receive equal pay for equal work;

? inherit property, and to have their marriage dissolved in the case of neglect or mistreatment;

? participate in all forms of worship that men participate in.

Allah says:

?Verily the most honourable of you in the sight of Allaah is the most God conscious? Qur?an 49:13

Islam guaranteed these rights, among many others, to women over 1400 years ago ? rights that women in the West are still lacking.

Without doubt, there are Muslim women who are oppressed and not given their rights.  However, this is not the fault of Islam.  The problem is that in many places in the world, culture and traditions have come to overshadow the teachings of Islam, either through ignorance or harmful cultural practices.

While Islam enshrines the rights of women, it also acknowledges the fact that men and women are not identical.

Allah says: ?. . . and the male is not like the female. . . ? (Qur?an: 3:36)

Islam has therefore ordained different roles for men and women to reflect this undisputable fact.  Women have been granted the honour and tremendous responsibility of caring for the family and the household.  While Men have been given the responsibility of providing financial support , security and maintenance for the family and the household.

In conclusion, the noble position of women in Islam can be summarized by the following saying of the Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon him):

?The world and all things in the world are precious, but the most precious thing in the world is a virtuous woman. ?

Allah also says:

?Whoever works righteousness whether male or female, while he (or she) is a believer ? We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward (in the Hereafter) according to the best of what they used to do. ? Qur?an 16:97

If Islam opposes idol worship, why do Muslims pray to a square structure?

The simple cube-shaped stone building located in Makkah is called the Ka?bah or the Sacred House.   It is the point toward which Muslims face when they pray.   Although Muslims face the direction of Ka?bah during prayer, they do not worship it.   Muslims worship and pray only to God.

The Ka?bah was built by the prophet Abraham and his son Ishmael in response to God's command over 4,000 years ago.   Abraham consecrated the House for the worship of the one true God and invited all of humanity to visit it for that purpose.   Even today Muslims who are physically and financially able are required to make a pilgrimage to it once in a lifetime.   The Ka?bah has remained at the center of a continuous tradition of worship and devotion up to the present day, symbolic of permanence, constancy and renewal.

There were periods in human history during which mankind deviated from the monotheism taught by God's prophets.   Before the advent of Muhammad, religion among the Arabs had degenerated into polytheism and paganism, and Makkah was completely submerged in idolatry; some 360 idols had been placed in and around the Ka?bah to be worshipped there along with God.   Prophet Muhammad was sent to restore to mankind the pure monotheism taught by all the messengers of God and reinstate the worship of Him alone.   This he accomplished, and the Ka?bah was finally cleared of all manmade deities.

Among the ancient religious rites particular to the Ka?bah is walking around it.   This suggests the integrating and unifying power of monotheism in human life and how a Muslim's existence should revolve around a pure devotion to God.   The Ka?bah symbolizes the unity of all true religion, the brotherhood of all the prophets, and the essential consistency of their message.

When Muslims pray facing toward this single central point, they are reminded of their common purpose and long-term goal.   Even when standing directly before the Ka?bah in prayer, one is not to look at it but rather at the ground before him.   The spiritual focus is on God alone and never upon any created object.

Muhammad ibn (son of) Abdullah ibn (son of) Abdul Mutalib, was born on 12 Rabi 'Awwal in the year 570 C. E.  (Christian Era) in Makkah, (today: Saudi Arabia) and he died in 633 C. E.  in Yathrib (today: Madinah, Saudi Arabia)

In Arabic the word prophet (nabi) is derived from the word naba which means news.  Thus we deduce that a prophet spreads the news of God and His message, they are in a sense God?s ambassadors on earth.  Their mission is to convey the message to worship One God.  This includes, calling the people to God, explaining the message, bringing glad tidings or warnings and directing the affairs of the nation.  All the prophets were anxious to convey God?s message sincerely and completely and this included the last prophet, Muhammad.  During his final sermon Prophet Muhammad asked the congregation three times whether he had delivered the message, and called on God to witness their answer, which was a resounding ?yes!?.

As well as the essence of their call to One God, another accepted sign of the truth of the prophets is how they live their lives.  The accounts of Prophet Muhammad?s life that we have inherited from our righteous predecessors illustrate that Muhammad?s Prophethood was guided by God from the very beginning.  Long before, Prophethood Muhammad was being prepared to guide humankind to the straight path and his life experiences stood him in good stead for such a weighty mission.  Then at the age of 40 when Prophethood was bestowed upon him, God continued to support and affirm his mission.  Any account of Muhammad?s life is filled with examples of his exemplary character; he was merciful, compassionate, truthful, brave, and generous, while striving solely for the rewards of the Hereafter.  The way Prophet Muhammad dealt with his companions, acquaintances, enemies, animals and even inanimate objects left no doubt that he was ever mindful of God.

Muhammad?s birth was accompanied by many so called miraculous events and the talk of the extraordinary events no doubt functioned as signs of Prophethood,

Special but not unique circumstances surrounded childhood of Prophet Muhammad and these undoubtedly had a bearing on his character.  By the time he was eight years old he had suffered through the death of both his parents and his beloved grandfather Abdul Muttalib.  He was left in the care of his uncle and great supporter Abu Talib.  Thus even as a young boy he had already suffered great emotional and physical upheaval.  Both the many chroniclers of Muhammad?s life and the Quran acknowledge his disrupted life.

Did He not find you (O Muhammad) an orphan and gave you a refuge? (Quran 93:6)

Muhammad?s uncle Abu Talib was poor and struggled to keep his family fed, thus during his adolescence Muhammad worked as a shepherd.  From this occupation he learned to embrace solitude and developed characteristics such as patience, cautiousness, care, leadership and an ability to sense danger.  Shepherding was an occupation that all the prophets of God we know of had in common.  ??The companions asked, ?Were you a shepherd?? He replied, ?There was no prophet who was not a shepherd. ??[1]

In his teens Muhammad sometimes travelled with Abu Talib, accompanying caravans to trade centres.  On at least one occasion, he is said to have travelled as far north as Syria.  Older merchants recognized his character and nicknamed him Al-Amin, the one you can trust.  Even in his youth he was known as truthful and trustworthy.  One story that is accepted by most Islamic scholars and historians is the account of one of Prophet Muhammad?s trips to Syria.

The story goes that the monk Bahira foretold the coming Prophethood and counselled Abu Talib to ?guard his nephew carefully?.  According to biographer Ibn Ishaq, as the caravan in which Prophet Muhammad was travelling approached the edge of town, Bahira could see a cloud that appeared to be shading and following a young man.  When the caravan halted under the shadow of some trees, Bahira ?looked at the cloud when it over-shadowed the tree, and its branches were bending and drooping over the apostle of God until he was in the shadow beneath it. ? After Bahira witnessed this he observed Muhammad closely and asked him many questions concerning a number of Christian prophecies he had read and heard about.

The young Muhammad was distinguished among his people for his modesty, virtuous behaviour and graceful manners, thus it was no surprise for his companions to see him, even as a youth many years before Prophethood, shun superstitious practices and keep away from drinking alcohol, eating meat slaughtered on stone altars or attending idolatrous festivals.  By the time he reached adulthood Muhammad was thought of as the most reliable and trustworthy member of the Meccan community.  Even those who concerned themselves with petty tribal squabbles acknowledged Muhammad?s honesty and integrity.

Muhammad?s virtues and good moral character was established from a young age, and God continued to support and guide him.  When he was 40 years old Muhammad was given the means to change the world, the means to benefit the whole of humanity

The Nation of Islam is a Muslim group
Islam and the so called "Nation of Islam'" are two different religions.  NOI is more of a political organization since its members are not limited to a single faith.  Muslims consider this group to be just one of many cults using the name of Islam for their own gain.
The only thing common between them is the jargon, the language used by both.  "The Nation of Islam" is a misnomer; this religion should be called Farrakhanism, after the name of its propogator, Louis Farrakhan.

Islam and Farakhanism differ in many fundamental ways.  For example, Farakhan followers believe in racism and that the 'black man' was the original man and therefore superior, while in Islam there is no racism and everyone is considered equal in the sight of God, the only difference being in one's piety.  There are many other theological examples that show the 'Nation's teachings have little to do with true Islam. There are many groups in America who claim to represent Islam and call their adherents Muslims.

Any serious student of Islam has a duty to investigate and find the true Islam. The only two authentic sources which bind every Muslim are1.  the Quran and 2authentic or sound Hadith.  Any teachings under the label of "Islam" which contradict or at variance with the direct understanding of fundamental beliefs and practices of Islam form the Quran and authentic Hadith should be rejected and such a religion should be considered a Pseudo-Islamic Cult.  In America there are many pseudo-Islamic cults, Farrakhanism being one of them.  An honest attitude on the part of such cults should be not to call themselves Muslims and their religion Islam.  such an example of honesty is Bahaism which is an off-shoot of Islam but Bahais do not call themselves Muslims nor their religion, Islam.  In fact Bahaism is not Islam just as Farrakhanism is not Islam.

four wives

The religion of Islam was revealed for all societies and all times and so accommodates widely differing social requirements.

Circumstances may warrant the taking of another wife but the right is granted according to the Quran, only on condition that the husband is scrupulously fair.  No woman can be forced into this kind of marriage if they do not wish it, and they also have the right to exclude it in their marriage contract.

Polygamy is neither mandatory nor encouraged but merely permitted.  Images of "sheikhs with harems" are not consistent with Islam, as a man is only allowed at most four wives only if he can fulfill the stringent conditions of treating each fairly and providing each with separate housing etc.

permission to practice polygamy is not associated with mere satisfaction of passion. It is rather associated with compassion toward widows and orphans.  It was the Quran that limited and put conditions on the practice of polygamy among the Arabs who had as many as ten or more wives and considered them "property".

It is both honest and accurate to say that it is Islam that regulated this practice, limited it, made it more humane, and instituted equal rights and status for all wives.  What the Qur'anic decrees amount to taken together is discouragement of polygamy unless necessity for it exists.  It is also evident that the general rule in Islam is monogamy and not polygamy.

It is a very tiny percentage of Muslims that practice it over the world.  However permission to practice limited polygamy is only consistent with Islam's realistic view of the nature of man and woman and of various social needs, problems and cultural variations.

The question is however far more than the inherent flexibility of Islam it also is the frank and straight forward approach of Islam in dealing with practical problems.  Rather than requiring hypocritical and superficial compliance, Islam delves deeper into the problems of individuals and societies, and provides for legitimate and clean solutions which are far more beneficial than would be the case if they were ignored.  There is no doubt that the second wife legally married and treated kindly is better off than a mistress without any legal rights or expermanence.

Do Muslims are a barbaric, backward people?

Among the reasons for the rapid and peaceful spread of Islam was thesimplicity of its  doctrine-Islam calls for faith in only one God worthy of worship.   It also repeatedly instructs man to use his powers of intelligence and observation.

Within a few years great civilizations and universities were flourishing, for according to the Prophet (pbuh), 'seeking knowledge is an obligation for every Muslim man and woman'.

The synthesis of Eastern and Western ideas and of new thought with old, brought about great  advances in medicine, mathematics, physics, astronomy, geography, architecture, art, literature and history.

Many crucial systems such as algebra, the Arabic numerals, and also the concept of  the zero (vital to the advancement of mathematics) were transmitted to medieval Europe from  Islam.   Sophisticated instruments which were to make possible the European voyages of discovery  were developed, including the astrolabe, the quadrant and good navigational maps.

The Islamic roots of European civilization and the construction of the 'European identity'

Quote:
Historian Bettany Hughes presents a picture of Islamic civilization in Spain and the impact that this civilization had on the development of modern Europe.  Hughes also indicates how the 'European identity' was artificially constructed by the Islamic origin of the acquired civilization "ethnically cleanse", to erase.

This false, ethnically purified image of Europe is unfortunately currently used for the Muslims to deny any contribution to European civilization and even enemies of civilization to label them.

History of the Moorish Empire in Europe

Infrastructure
The Andalusia in the 10th century, tells mp Scott, was crossed in all directions by awesome aqueducts.  Cordoba was a city of fountains, roads were miles long brightly lit, paved, well maintained and regularly visited by security patrols.

For comparison: in London there were no paved streets until the 14th century, at night the city was plunged into blackness.  It took until the reign of Charles II (in the 17th century) that even poorly active street lighting was installed in London.

Demography
On the death of Elizabeth England had about 4 million inhabitants.  The population of Islamic Spain may have been over 30 million.  No less six centuries earlier In London in 1700, was the most populous city in Christian Europe, only half the size of Cordoba in the year 900, and Almeria and Seville each had a population as large as the British capital 800 years later.  (. . . )

Hygiene
In the middle of the 10th century there were 900 public baths built in the capital of Moorish Spain, in the 18th century there were not even so much in all the countries of Christian Europe together.  (. . . ) The fatal effects of the plague are convincing evidence of the appalling hygienic conditions that prevailed everywhere.  The water was removed from the polluted river or from sources that stank of dirt.  (. . . )

Science
Nothing illustrates the contrast in terms of science better than the importance attached to books.  Scott let us know that the library Mostandir, the sultan of Egypt, 800 thousand books housed.  The library of Tripoli contained 200 thousand.  When Baghdad was destroyed by the Mongols in the 13th century, books were thrown into the Tigris covered the entire river, and colored water of the black ink, while an even larger share went up in flames.  The caliphate of Spain had 70 public book collections, and alone the large library of Al-Hakam II contained 600 thousand books.  Many private collections were correspondingly large, that of Ibn al-Mathran, the personal physician to Saladin, contained 10 thousand manuscripts.

Four centuries later, there were only books in Christian Europe, except those were kept in monasteries.  The royal library of France contained 900 books, of which two-thirds was theological content.  (. . . )

Education
In Muslim countries it was difficult to even come who could not read and write.  Against a farmer In the same time allowed many senior people in Europe not say this of himself.

Christmas is the Pagan ritual entered into the religion through the church in 325 AD by Constantine in Constantinople.

The birth of Jesus was in mid-summer rather than winter of solstices which was the invention of the Pagans to worship ?SUN? being born (raised) on 25th December, as they worship Sun so they thought that Sun has died on 23rd December because of shortest day, suddenly when sun was lifted up on 25th December they overjoyed and believed that the ?SUN? has born on 25th of December and from that day this cult was entered.

Two verses from the Quran and Bible show that the birth of Jesus was in mid-summer not in winter Solstices.

The Quran says in chapter Maryam 19:25:

And shake the trunk of date-palm towards you, it will let fall fresh ripe-dates upon you.

In this verse, Allah was commanding Mary, mother of Jesus, through an Angel to go to Palm tree and shake the trunk and dates will fall thereof then eat them and get refreshed in your pangs and throes.

Now if you meet any horticulturist he will tell you that the dates always fall in mid-summers.

Now let us analyze the Bible.

Luke 2:8

?And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. ?

Ask these Christian missionaries why were shepherds looking at their flocks in 25th December at night time? When at that time it happened to be much cold in the open field that the flocks could freeze to death.  Those days were not like these days as there was a city heat of vehicles and industries.

Then we are told that when Jesus was born three kings came to visit the child by following the star from the east.  How come in the winter nights stars can be seen? As we know that the mist, fog and smoke cover the sky in winters.

So we can conclude that Bible is not giving the specific date neither the Quran but the hint is there that it was summer time not winter.

The tradition was added by the Church in 325 AD regarding the names like Easter Day, Eucharist and Christmas etc.

The Quran is the holy book which Muslims recite and turn to for guidance in all aspects of their life.

It is the last testament in a series of divine revelations from God.  It comprises the unaltered and direct words of God, revealed through the Angel Gibrael, to the final Prophet, Muhammad (pbuh)1 some 1400 years ago.  Islam is a continuation of the teachings of previous Prophets, such as Noah, Abraham, David, Moses and Jesus (peace be upon them all), some of whom were also given divine books.  Muslims believe that the key message brought by all Prophets was the same; to believe in One God and not to associate partners with Him, to stay away from sins and to lead a life devoted to earning Gods pleasure.  All Prophets taught about life after death and gave glad tidings of paradise for those who obey God, but warned of punishment in hell for those who choose to disobey Him.

The Quran is unique because it is the only revealed book that exists today in the precise form and content in which it was originally revealed.  Furthermore, it was actively recorded during the time the religion was being established.  The distinctive approach of the Quran is that its spiritual message includes practical injunctions aimed at the general welfare of human beings, society and the environment in which we live.  The Qurans message is eternal and universal, transcending our differences in race, color, ethnicity and nationality.  It provides guidance on every aspect of human life, from economics and the ethics of trade to marriage, divorce, gender issues, inheritance and parenting.  It neither condemns nor tortures the flesh nor does it neglect the soul.  It does not humanize God, nor does it deify man.  The Quran describes signs of Gods existence in the universe and how everything is carefully placed in the total scheme of creation.

?Everything made so much sense. This is the beauty of the Quran; it asks you to reflect and reason?. When I read the Quran further, it talked about prayer, kindness and charity.  I was not a Muslim yet, but I felt the only answer for me was the Qur?an and God had sent it to me. ?

Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam), former British pop star.

This brochure examines two common questions asked by those seeking to understand the origin and authorship of the Quran.  1) What evidence supports the Qurans claim of authenticity ,i. e. , that it has not been interfered with? 2) Even if the Quran has been preserved, what evidence supports that it is the Word of God and not simply Muhammads (pbuh)own writings?
Preservation of the Quran

The Quran has been preserved for over 1400 years through parallel memorization and writings.

?We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; and We will assuredly Guard it (from corruption). ? [Quran 15:9]

The Quran is the only book that has been memorized in its entirety by millions.  The process of memorization began during the Prophets (pbuh) life and continues to be emphasized by Muslims, even to this day. The use of memorization in oral transmission through the generations had mitigated somewhat from the beginning the worst perils of relying solely on written records, related John Burton.  [John Burton, An Introduction to the Hadith, Edinburgh University Press; 1994, p27].

Muhammad (pbuh) was very vigilant in preserving the entire Quran in written form as well.  The Prophet (pbuh) could not read or write, so as soon as a portion of the Quran was revealed, he called upon his scribes to record the revealed text. The Prophet (pbuh) specified the part of the Quran the revelation belonged to and had the companions read back what was written to ensure that it corresponded exactly with what was revealed. Thus, the complete Quran was not only memorized by the Prophet (pbuh) and many of his companions, but also existed in written form during his lifetime. Within a year after the Prophets (pbuh) death, a manuscript of the entire Quran was assembled by a committee led by the chief scribe of the Prophet (pbuh), who followed stringent criteria to safeguard against any errors.  The manuscript was unanimously approved by the companions of the Prophet (pbuh), including the hundreds that had memorized the entire Quran.  Several replicates of the manuscript were prepared under the leadership of the third caliph and were distributed to the main Muslim centers.  One such copy is currently at the museum in Tashkent in erstwhile (Soviet Union) and a facsimile of it, produced in 1905, is available in the Columbia University Library (USA).
Who Wrote the Quran

Muslims believe that the Quran is the Speech of God and not a book written by Muhammad (pbuh) himself.  The information above provides evidence for the preservation of the Qur?an, but what suggests that it was actually the word of God?

1) Historical accounts document, and the Quran openly declares, that Muhammad (pbuh) was unlettered.

You (O Muhammad) were not a reader of any Scripture before it, nor did you write (such a Scripture) with your right hand, for then those who follow falsehood might (have a right) to doubt it.  [Quran, 29. 48]

2) The Quran was revealed at a time when the Arabs excelled in oral poetry.  Poetry competitions like todays rap competitions, were held in the marketplace.  Muhammads (pbuh) recitation stunned its listeners for its beauty in Arabic.  Many converted simply by listening to the deep acoustic rhythms, literary merit and wisdom of the Quranic verses.  In contrast, the Arabic of 1400 years ago was restricted to words and expressions relevant to the simple life of desert men and it was impossible to express metaphysical ideas or scientific, religious and philosophical concepts.  In fact the science of Arabic grammar was developed after the revelation of the Quran, using the Quran as a basis for devising its rules.  It is difficult to find an explanation (other than revelation) that explains how a book existed that superseded, and also differed so greatly from any other Arabic literature.  The challenge of the Quran to produce a chapter like its own has not been met to this day:-

And if you are in doubt concerning that which We reveal unto Our slave (Muhammad) then produce a Surah (chapter) of the like thereof, and call your witnesses besides Allah if you are truthful.  [Quran, 2:23]

3) The Quran is a highly comprehensive book containing Divine truths, metaphysics, religious beliefs and worship, prayer, law and morality.  It is a book fully describing the other life, a book of psychology, sociology, epistemology, and history, and a book containing scientific facts and the principles of a utopian life.  A testament to the Divine authenticity of the Quran is that such a comprehensive book, one that was revealed over a period of 23 years, does not have any contradictory points.

Will they not then ponder on the Quran? If it had been from other than God they would have found therein much contradiction and incongruity.  [Quran, 4. 82]

4) Could Muhammad (pbuh) have been a liar or had motives for inventing the Quran? The early years of Muhammads (pbuh) mission were punctuated by persecutions and sorrow.  His followers were brutally tortured, killed and forced to migrate.  His clan was boycotted and he was stoned.  His enemies even offered him wealth and kingship if he abandoned his call to the belief in One God.  Instead, the Prophet (pbuh) lived a very austere life and never pursued any worldly gains like fame, power or wealth.  Furthermore, the life of Muhammad (pbuh) was a practical embodiment of the Divine message and a study of his life (through the Hadith2) provides an appreciation of this fact.  Even before he received the Prophethood, he was known in his society as Al-Ameen (The Trustworthy) and As-Sadiq (The Truthful).  Both Muslim and non-Muslim scholars attest to his honesty and integrity 3 .

5) The Quran mentions things that were not known at the time.  How can the existence of these verses be explained? The Quran has scientific descriptions only recently discovered by modern science and that could not have been known 1400 years ago.

Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay); then we placed him (as a drop of) sperm in a place of rest, firmly fixed; then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of than clot We made a (foetus) lump; then We made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh;then We developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah,The Best to Create [Quran, 23:12-14).

Professor Keith Moore, a prominent scientist of anatomy and embryology (University of Toronto, Canada) commented: It has been a great pleasure for me to help clarify statements in the Quran about human development.  It is clear to me that these statements must have come to Muhammad (pbuh) from God, or ?Allah?, because almost all of this knowledge was not discovered until many centuries later.  This proves to me that Muhammad (pbuh) must have been a Messenger of Allah.

The Quran describes the expansion of the universe:

And it is we who have built the univrse with (Our creative) power; and verily, it is We who are steadily expanding it.  [Quran, 51:47].

It was not until 1925, when Edwin Hubble provided evidence of receding galaxies, that the expanding universe came to be accepted as a scientific fact.

Professor Alfred Kroner, a world-famous geologist, explained: Thinking about many of these questions and thinking where Muhammad (pbuh) came from, he was after all a bedouin.  I think it is almost impossible that he could have known about things like the common origin of the universe, because scientists have only found out within the last few years with very complicated and advanced technological methods that this is the case.

The Quran describes geographical concepts that were proven after its revelation.  For example, it was the common dogma 1400 years ago that the earth was flat, but the Quran described it as a sphere, compressed at each end (like an ostrich egg):

And the earth moreover, He has made egg shaped4 [Quran 79:30].

In 1597, when Sir Francis Drake sailed around the world, the earth became known to be a sphere.
What can explain the origin of the Quran?

The life and character of the Prophet (pbuh) , the depth of the Quranic message, its appeal and relevance to both the spiritual and the mundane, all testify to the Divine origin of the Quran.  These points compel us to admit our inability to provide an explanation that relies solely upon material causes.  In a world starved of love and compassion, the Qurans universal message is the perfect antidote to the collective despair of the human condition.

2.  Hadith, the collection of recorded saying and actions of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

Muhammad was the founder of Islam

Muhammad(pbuh) was born in Mecca in the year 570. Since his father died before his birth and his mother shortly afterwards, he was

raised by his uncle from the respected tribe of Quraysh. As he grew up, he became known for his truthfulness, generosity and sincerity, so that he was sought after for his ability to arbitrate in disputes.

The historians describe him as calm and meditative. Muhammad (pbuh) was of a deeply religious nature, and had long detested the decadence of his society.

It became his habit to meditate from time to time in the Cave of Hira near Mecca. At the age of 40, while engaged in a meditative retreat Muhammad(pbuh) received his first revelation from God through the Angel Gabriel This revelation which continued for 23 years is known as the Quran. As soon as he began to recite the words he heard from Gabriel, and to preach the truth which God had revealed to him, he and his small group of followers suffered bitter persecution which grew so fierce that in the year 622 God gave them the command to emigrate.

This event, the Hijra 'migration', in which they left Mecca for the city of Medina, marks the beginning of the Muslim calendar.

After several years, the Prophet and his followers were able to return to Mecca, where they forgave their enemies and established Islam definitively. Before the Prophet saw dies at the age of 63, the greater part of Arabia was Muslim, and within a century of his death Islam had spread to Spain in the West and as far East as China.

He died with less than 5 possessions to his name. While Muhammad (pbuh) was chosen to deliver the message, he is not considered the "founder" of Islam, since Muslims consider Islam to be the same divine guidance sent to all peoples before. Muslims believe all the prophets from Adam, Noah, Moses, Jesus etc. were all sent with divine guidance for their peoples. Every prophet was sent to his own people, but Muhammad(pbuh) was sent to all of mankind. Muhammad is the last and final messenger sent to deliver the message of Islam.

Muslims revere and honor him (pbuh) for all he went through and his dedication, but they do not worship him.

"O Prophet, verily We have sent you as a witness and a bearer of glad tidings and a warner and as one who invites unto God by His leave and as an 419 Scamng lamp." (Quran33:45-6)

the story of Moses  peace be upon him and especially the Exodus from Egypt of the Hebrews.  concerning the historical time-frame occupied by the Exodus in the history of the pharaohs, I have concluded that the most likely is the theory which makes Merneptah, Ramesses II?s successor, the pharaoh of the Exodus.

evidence leading us to situate Moses in the history of the pharaohs.  Moses was probably born during the reign of Ramesses II.  Biblical data.  are therefore of considerable historical value in the story of Moses.  A medical study of the mummy of Merneptah has yielded further useful information on the possible causes of this pharaoh?s death.  The fact that we possess the mummy of this pharaoh is one of paramount importance.  The Bible records that pharaoh was engulfed in the sea, but does not give any details as to what subsequently became of his corpse.  The Qur?an, in chapter Yoonus, notes that the body of the pharaoh would be saved from the waters:
?Today I will save your dead body so that you may be a sign for those who come after you. ? Qur?an, 10:92
A medical examination of this mummy, has, shown that the body could not have stayed in the water for long, because it does not show signs of deterioration due to prolonged submersion.  Here again, the comparison between the narration in the Qur?an and the data provided by modern knowledge does not give rise to the slightest objection from a scientific point of view.
Such points of agreement are characteristic of the Qur?anic revelation.

The main causes which brought about such differences as arise from the comparison between the Holy Scriptures and modern knowledge is known to modern scholars.  The Old Testament constitutes a collection of literary works produced in the course of roughly nine centuries and which has undergone many alterations.  The part played by men in the actual composition of the texts of the Bible is quite considerable.

The Qur?anic revelation, on the other hand, has a history which is radically different.  As we have already seen, from the moment it was first commto humans, it was learnt by heart and written down during Muhammad?s own lifetime.  It is thanks to this fact that the Qur?an does not pose any problem of authenticity.

A totally objective examination of the Qur?an, in the light of modern knowledge, leads us to recognize the agreement between the two, as has already been noted on repeated occasions throughout this presentation.

It makes us deem it quite unthinkable for a man of Muhammad?s time to have been the author of such statements, on account of the state of knowledge in his day.  Such considerations are part of what gives the Qur?anic revelation its unique place among religious and non-religious texts, and forces the impartial scientist to admit his inability to provide an explanation based solely upon materialistic reasoning.

Such facts as I have had the pleasure of exposing to you here, appear to represent a genuine challenge to human explanation leaving only one alternative: the Qur?an is undoubtedly a revelation from allah.

An-Nawwas ibn Sam?aan reported that Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him said:
"Righteousness is good character, and sin is whatever bothers you and you do not want people to know." (Saheeh Muslim)
Hence one can say that Islam as a whole came to perfect good manners, as did the Prophet himself:
"Indeed I was only sent to complete the most noble character traits." (Saheeh Muslim)
As Islam is not a mere religion but a complete way of life, incorporating all of its various facets and aspects, good manners is actually regarded as a means of worship by which one may achieve the same reward of doing other more obvious voluntary acts of worship. The Prophet, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, stated:

"Through his manners and good conduct, the believer can attain the status of a person who frequently fasts and prays at night." (Abu Dawud)
Rather, the Prophet even stated it to be one of the best forms of worship, second to none but the obligatory mandates of Islam:
"On the Day of Resurrection, nothing will be heavier in the scale (of good deeds) of the believer than good conduct. God hates the one who swears and hurls obscenities." (Abu Dawud, Al-Tirmidhi)
Through maintaining good conduct, one becomes one of the beloved servants of God. The Prophet said:
"The most beloved slaves of God to God are those who have the best manners." (Al-Hakim)
When one realizes the importance of good character and its essentiality in defining righteousness, an aspect which is the goal of Islam, this exhorts Muslims to fulfill this aspect of faith as well, since one can not become "righteous" through mere belief and devotion to God in themselves without good character.

But what is regarded as good character? We find that the Quran and Sunnah in various texts define it to be any trait that is beneficial to humans, both to oneself as well as to others, at the same time not being generally or specifically prohibited by Islam. For example, God says:
"Those who suppress their anger, and forgive other people ? assuredly, God loves those who do good." (Quran 3:134)
Righteousness is dealing fairly, justly and politely with one?s family. The Prophet said:
"The believers with the most perfect faith are those with the most perfect conduct and manners. And the best ones amongst you are those who are best to their families." (Al-Tirmidhi)
Truthfulness is an essential aspect of good character which leads to Paradise. The Prophet said:
"Indeed truthfulness is righteousness, and indeed righteousness leads to Paradise." (Saheeh Muslim)
For this reason, we look to divine guidance in order to define for us good manners and character, exemplified by the Prophet,
as God said:
"Surely, you (O Muhammad) are upon a high standard of moral character." (Quran 68:4)
God also said:
"Indeed in the Messenger of God you have a beautiful example of conduct to follow?" (Quran 33:21)
Aisha, the wife of the noble Prophet, was asked about his character. She replied:

MISHIGAS!

The god of MUHAMMAD is not the same God of Abraham, Isaac, and Yacub.

There is no evidence to suggest that the Islamic god has anything whatsoever to do with The God of Moses and The Holy Prophets.  He is an IDENTITY HIJACKER, with a lot of TALK- but absolutely nothing else.

Whereas The God of The Bible performs Signs and Wonders, these are not for entertainment purposes or showing-off: these are Services performed by God implementing The Holy Promises of HIS COVENANTS with MOSES and with YESHUA.

ALLAH has no corresponding Signs or Wonders, because HE IS NOT A COVENANT-KEEPER.

MUHAMMAD'S concept of God was based on hearsay, because he could not read The Scriptures for himself.  Therefore, hr was receptive to the Belief that GOD ALMIGHTY could be as USELESS as  the God of TOMSN CATHOLICISM his uncle WARAQUAH taught him about.

A God Who helps those who help themselves, but cannot be relied upon to do anything.

ABRAHAM'S COVENANT with God began with his CIRCUMCISION, and the first thing God did was to give him a son by his wife: ISAAC- who had been barren her whole marriage, and was then NINETY YEARS OF AGE.

God Promised to implement His Promise of Blessing the World through his Seed through ISAAC.

ISHMAEL was Abraham's firstborn by his wife's slave HAGAR: he did not figure in to these Promises.

Therefore ISLAM hijacks the Testimony of Yahweh God's Test of Abraham, Commanding him to sacrifice the son through whom He had made the Promises, only to stop him at the last minute.

This hijacking does not work, because it would mean that God had done this to Abraham before, and he would know that God was not serious.

Also, Ishmael was the son of a slave, and therefore expendable.

Abraham would have seen God as removing a superfluous heir: it would not be a test of anything.

ISLAM is therefore based on a lie.

No Prophets came from Ishmael's lineage: EVER.

That is because GOD WAS NOT WITH ISHMAEL'S DESCENDANTS, and NONE of them achieved HOLINESS.

HOLINESS is difficult to achieve, even when you know what you are doing; ISHMAEL'S DESCENDANTS DID NOT KNOW WHAT THEY WERE DOING, AND FELL INTO IDOLATRY- as did the Children of Israel- who had every reason to know better.

OUR IGBO FELLOW COUNTRYMEN ARE EXAMPLES OF THAT.

THEY are the descendants of ERI, the fifth son of GAD, son of YACUB, who left EGYPT before the Exodus, and never received THE MOSAIC COVENANT.

They worshipped everything except GOD, because they did not know any better.

THE ISHMAELITES were aware of THE ISRAELITES, but did not respect YAHWEH GOD, but descended into IDOLATRY- one of which gods was called "ALLAH:" not that those worshippers had any idea what they were talking about.

Even when Muhammad eliminated idolatry from Arabia, and made Allah an Abstract Entity, THAT DID NOT MAKE HIS ALLAH THE REAL GOD AND CREATOR.

The sort of Spirits that inspired THE QUR'AN are a dime-a-dozen.

The reason why we don't have millions of ISLAMS, is that only MUHAMMAD was stupid enough to KILL for his god.  THAT is what the ALLAH ENTITY needed: THE WILLINGNESS TO KILL FOR HIM.

While alive, this Entity feeds upon the LIFE ENERGIES of those who VIOLATE THE LAW OF MOSES FOR HIM- then, after they DIE, he gets to FEAST on their SOULS, if they do not survive the SORTING PROCESS.

If they do (by being able to TOTALLY-RECALL their ENTIRE LIVES, on-the-spot,) he gets to IMPRISON their SOULS in a FALSE PARADISE or HELL.

This can be verified.

YAHWEH GOD Promises to show HIS Servants EVERYTHING.

"ALLAH" does not.

He cannot afford to.

We change and die

And the laws of allah remain
It's that simple

If you are a Jew will follow the teachings of Moses, peace be upon him

If you are a Christian you will follow the teachings of Jesus, peace be upon him

As well as Jewish and Christian will follow the teachings of Jesus, peace be upon him

Jesus Christ, peace be upon him a prophet for Jews only

And also the true teachings of the Torah and the Gospel perfectly matched to the teachings of Islam

So it is simple and does not require twisting and turning and fraud

The Prophets of the Old Testament such as Abraham, Noah and Jonah never preached that God is part of a Trinity, and did not believe in Jesus as their saviour. Their message was simple: there is one God and He alone deserves your worship. It doesn?t make sense that God sent Prophets for thousands of years with the same essential message, and then all of a sudden he says he is in a Trinity and that you must believe in Jesus to be saved.

The truth is that Jesus preached the same message that the Prophets in the Old Testament preached. There is a passage in the Bible which really emphasizes his core message. A man came to Jesus and asked ?Which is the first commandment of all??Jesus answered, ?The first of all the commandments is Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.??[Mark 12:28-29]. So the greatest commandment, the most important belief according to Jesus is that God is one. If Jesus was God he would have said ?I am God, worship me?, but he didn?t. He merely repeated a verse from the Old Testament confirming that God is One.

Some people claim that Jesus came to die for the sins of the world. But consider the following statement of Jesus: This is eternal life: to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you sent. I have glorified you on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.[John 17:3-4]. Jesus said this before he was caught and taken to be crucified. It is clear from this verse that Jesus did not come to die for the sins of the world, as he finished the work God gave him before he was taken to be crucified.

Also Jesus said ?salvation is of the Jews? [John 4:22]. So according to this we don?t need to believe in the Trinity or that Jesus died for our sins to attain salvation since the Jews don?t have these beliefs.
5. The Early Christians

Historically there were many sects in early Christianity who had a range of beliefs regarding Jesus[1]. Some believed Jesus was God, others believed Jesus was not God but partly divine, and yet others believed he was a human being and nothing more. Trinitarian Christianity which is the belief that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are one in three persons became the dominant sect of Christianity, once it was formalized as the state religion of the Roman Empire in the 4th Century. Christians who denied Jesus being God were persecuted by the Roman Authorities[2]. From this point onwards the Trinitarian belief became widespread amongst Christians. There were various movements in early Christianity which denied the Trinity, among the more well known of them is Adoptionism and Arianism.

Dr Jerald Dirks who is an expert on early Christianity had this to say on the subject: Early Christianity was quite conflicted about the issue of the nature of Jesus. The various Adoptionist positions within early Christianity were numerous and at times dominate. One can even speculate that Arian and Nestorian Christianity might well be an extremely sizable source within Christianity today, if it were not for the fact that these two branches of Christianity, which were located primarily in the middle east and in North Africa were so similar to the Islamic teaching regarding the nature of Jesus that they quite naturally were absorbed into Islam at the beginning of the seventh century.?[3]

Since there were so many sects in early Christianity, each with different beliefs about Jesus and with their own versions of the Bible, which one can we say was following the true teachings of Jesus?

It doesn?t make sense that God sends countless Prophets like Noah, Abraham and Moses to tell people to believe in one God, and then suddenly sends a radically different message of the Trinity which contradicts his previous Prophets teachings. It is clear that the sect of Christianity who believed Jesus to be a human Prophet and nothing more, were following the true teachings of Jesus. This is because their concept of God is the same as that which was taught by the Prophets in the Old Testament.
Jesus in Islam

The Islamic belief about Jesus demystifies for us who the real Jesus was. Jesus in Islam was an extraordinary individual, chosen by God as a Prophet and sent to the Jewish people. He never preached that he himself was God or the actual son of God. He was miraculously born without a father, and he performed many amazing miracles such as healing the blind and the lepers and raising the dead ? all by God?s permission. Muslims believe that Jesus will return before the day of Judgement to bring justice and peace to the world. This Islamic belief about Jesus is similar to the belief of some of the early Christians. In the Quran, God addresses the Christians about Jesus in the following way:

O People of the Book, do not commit excesses in your religion, and do not say anything about God except the truth: the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, was nothing more than a messenger of God, His word, directed to Mary and a spirit from Him. So believe in God and His Messengers and do not speak of a ?Trinity?? stop [this], that is better for you? God is only one God, He is far above having a son, everything in the heavens and earth belongs to Him and He is the best one to trust. [4:171]

Islam is not just another religion. It is the same message preached by Moses, Jesus and Abraham. Islam literally means ?submission to God? and it teaches us to have a direct relationship with God. It reminds us that since God created us, no one should be worshipped except God alone. It also teaches that God is nothing like a human being or like anything that we can imagine. The concept of God is summarized in the Quran as:

?Say, He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He does not give birth, nor was He born, and there is nothing like Him.? (Quran 112:1-4)[4]

Becoming a Muslim is not turning your back to Jesus. Rather it?s going back to the original teachings of Jesus and obeying him.

Prophet Ismail the son of the Prophet Ibrahim peace be upon them
The mother of the prophet Ismail
she was  princess
hostage
by the Egyptians
The Prophet Abraham married her
And descendants of Ismail Prophet Muhammad peace be upon himAdvent of Prophet Isma'il and Desertion by his Father:
The Prophet Isma'il (peace be upon him) was the eldest son of Prophet Ibrahim (peace he upon him) by his second wife Hajira.  As he had no off-spring from his first wife Sarah, he entered into matrimonial allegiance with Hajira, a devoted lady.  He did so with the consent of his first wife.  The Prophet Ibrahim (peace he upon him) prayed to his Lord to bless him with a son.  The Prophet Isma'il (peace he upon him) was born to him in response to his prayers.  The Holy Qur'an makes mention of it in these words:

"Ibrahim said: My Lord! Grant me of the doers of good deeds.  So We gave him the good news of a boy possessing forbearance." (37: 100, 101)

Shortly after his birth, in obedience to a Divine behest, he was left by his father Ibrahim (peace be upon him) along with his mother at the place where stands Ka'bah.   It was a barren and waterless place with no trace of life in any form.  The great Patriarch, Ibrahim (peace be upon him) left them to their fate with a heavy heart and prayed:

"O' Lord! I have made some of my off-spring settle in this barren valley near the Sacred House so that they may keep up prayer." (14: 37)

The scene of departing Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) from his family was highly pathetic.  It is narrated on the authority of Ibn 'Abb?s that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) brought with him his wife Hajira and his son Prophet Isma'il (peace be upon him) whom she suckled.  They placed the child close by the spot where Ka'bah now stands.  In those days Mecca was uninhabited and without water.  The Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) placed beside them a bag full of dates and a skin full of water.  When Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) returned, the mother of Prophet Isma'il (peace be upon him) ran after him and said: Ibrahim! Where are you going? Why have you left me in the wilderness where none is to take pity on us.  Nothing is available here to eat and drink.  She repeated this several times but Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) did not hearken to her voice.  Then she asked him.  Have God Commanded you to do so? He replied in affirmative.  She said: Then God will cause no harm to me.   Thereupon she returned back.  When Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) got out of sight, he faced towards Ka'bah and prayed: 0' Lord! Grant that the hearts of some men may be affected with kindness towards them and bestow upon them all sorts of fruit so that they may be thankful.  After this the mother of Prophet Isma'il (peace be upon him) began to suckle her child and to drink water out of the skin until it was emptied.   Soon after her son felt thirsty.  She could not bear to see him in such plight.  Hajira ran seven times from the hill of Safa to Marwa in quest of water.   As she was about to commence the eighth trip, her attention was drawn to the crying child who in the agony of thirst was kicking the ground.  Lo! the water gushed forth miraculously from the earth in the form of fountain to save Prophet: Isma'il (peace be upon him) from the tortures of thirst.  Then she drank the water and suckled her child.  May God bless the mother of Prophet Isma'il! Had she left the Zam Zam as it was or had she not filled her skin with water, the Zam Zam would always have remained an overflowing mountain.  (Bukhari)

Trial of Sincerity:
The origin of the custom of true believers running between Safa and Marwa at the time of Hajj is deep connected with Hajira, the mother of Prophet Isma'il (peace be upon him).   Similarly the rite of sacrifice also owes its origin to the Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and his obedient son.  He had received a Divine Command to sacrifice his beloved son.  Both of them stood the test with credit.  The Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) decided to fulfil the vision on one hand whereas the Prophet Isma'il (peace be upon him) was ready with alacrity to lay down his life to win the favour and pleasure of Allah.  While they were proceeding towards Mina for the performance of the solemn duty, Satan tried to dissuade them from their firm resolve but to no effect.   The Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) passed the sharp knife over the throat of his son but an angel turned the knife upside down and a heavenly message forbade the act.   The Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was desired to sacrifice in lieu of his son, a ram.  So he slaughtered a well-fed ram presented by Allah.  When the Prophet Isma'il (peace be upon him) grew up, he married a girl of the tribe but soon divorced her at the request of his father to whom  she proved to be discourteous.   After this he married a daughter of the Jurhum Chief.

Re-construction of the House of Allah:
Ka'bah is the veritable heart of Islam towards which all the prayers of the Muslims flow to vivify their souls.  It was built by the Prophet Adam (peace be upon him), the father of the human race.  When it was damaged by flood, it was reconstructed on the same foundations by the Prophet Ibrahim (peace he upon him) with the help of his son Prophet Isma'il (peace be upon him), the ancestors of the Arabs.  The Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) directed his son to bring a good stone to mark the corner of foundation.  He brought one of which the angel Gabriel gave him information.  It was the sacred Black stone-Hajar al-Aswad.  When the Prophet Ibrahim and Isma'il (peace be upon them) raised the foundations of the House of Allah they prayed:

"Our Lord! Accept from us; surely You are the Hearing, the Knowing.   Our Lord! Make us both submissive to You and raise from our off-spring a nation submitting to You and show us ways of devotion and turn to us mercifully.  You are the oft-Returning to mercy, the Most Merciful." (1:127, 128)

"Our Lord! And raise up in them an Apostle from among them who shall recite to them Your communications and teach them the Book and the Wisdom and purify them.   Surely You are the Mighty, the Wise." (2: 129).

Mecca is Habitated:
The Prophet Isma'il (peace be upon him) and his mother settled down in the vicinity of the Ka'bah.  His progeny multiplied and ramified into numerous tribes.  One of these is known as the Quraysh from which the Ishmaelite Arabs sprang up.  The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) belonged to this family.  They habitated the city of Mecca which became the centre of Islam.

Do Muslims believe in Jesus and other prophets?

Muslims respect and revere Jesus, upon him be peace, and await his Second Coming. They consider him one of the greatest of God's messengers to mankind.

A Muslim never refers to him simply as 'Jesus', but always adds the phrase 'upon him be peace' (abbreviated as (u) here). The Quran confirms his virgin birth (a chapter of the Quran is entitled 'Mary'), and Mary is considered the purest woman in all creation. The Quran describes the Annunciation as follows:

"Behold!" the Angel said, "God has chosen you, and purified you, and chosen you above the women of all nations. O Mary, God gives you good news of a word from Him whose name shall be the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, honored in this world and the Hereafter, and one of those brought near to God.  He shall speak to the people from his cradle and in maturity, and shall be of the righteous. " She said: "O my Lord! How shall I have a son when no man has touched me?" He said: "Even so; God creates what He will.  When He decrees a thing, He says to it "Be!" and it is" (Quran 3:42-47)

Jesus (u) was born miraculously through the same power, which had brought Adam (u) into being without a father:

"Truly, the likeness of Jesus with God is as the likeness of Adam.  He created him of dust and then said to him, 'Be!' and he was. " (Quran3:59)

During his prophetic mission Jesus (u) performed many miracles.  The Quran tells us that he said:

"I have come to you with a sign from your Lord: I make for you out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breath into it and it becomes a bird by God's leave.  And I heal the blind, and the lepers, and I raise the dead by God's leave. "

(Quran3:49)

Neither Muhammad (pbuh) not Jesus (u) came to change the basic doctrine of the brief in One God brought by earlier prophets, but to confirm and renew it.  In the Quran Jesus (u) is reported as saying that he came:

"To attest the law which was before me.  And to make lawful to you part of what was forbidden you; I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, so fear God and obey Me".  (Quran3:50)

The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said:

"Whoever believes there is no god but God, alone without partner that Muhammad (pbuh) is His messenger, that Jesus is the servant and messenger of God, His word breathed into Mary and a spirit emanatin from Him, and that Paradise and Hell are true, shall be received by God into Heaven. " (Hadith related by Bukhari).

Islam's Cornerstone is Following blindly?!

Many people allege that Muslims blindly follow what is said to them without thinking. Is this really true?!

In a book called, Islam in focus, Dr. Hammudah Abd al Ati writes:

True Muslims believe that faith is not complete when it is followed blindly or accepted unquestioningly unless the believer is reasonably satisfied. If faith is to inspire action, and if faith and action are to lead to salvation, then faith must be founded on unshakeable conviction without any deception or compulsion. In other words, the person who calls himself a Muslim because of his family traditions, or accepts Islam under correction or by blind imitation is not a complete Muslim in the sight of God.

A Muslim must build his faith on well-grounded convictions beyond any reasonable doubt and above certainty. If he is not certain about his faith, he is invited by God to search in the open book of nature, to use his reasoning powers, and to reflect on the teachings of the Qur'an. He must search for the indisputable truth until he finds it, and he will certainly finds it, if he is capable and serious enough.

And when it is said to them, "Follow what Allah has revealed," they say, "Rather, we will follow that which we found our fathers doing." Even though their fathers understood nothing, nor were they guided? (Qur'an 2:170)

This is why Islam demands sound convictions and opposes blind imitation. Every person who is duly qualified as a genuine and an earnest thinker is enjoined by Islam to employ his facilities to the fullest extent.

But if a person is unqualified or uncertain of himself, he should pursue his thinking only as far as his limits can take him. It will be quite in order for such a person to rely on any authentic sources of religion, which are sufficient in themselves, without applying to them any critical questioning of which he is incapable.

The point is that no one call himself a true Muslim unless his faith is based on strong convictions and freedom of choice, it cannot be forced upon any body, for God will not accept his forced faith. Nor will He consider it true Islam if it is not developed from within or originate from free and sound convections.

And because Islam ensures freedom of belief, many non-Muslim groups lived and still live in Muslim countries enjoying full freedom of belief and conscience. Muslims take this attitude because Islam forbids compulsion in religion. It is the light which must radiate from within, because freedom of choice is the cornerstone of responsibility.

This does not exempt the parents from responsibility for their children. Nor does it condone their being indifferent to the spiritual welfare of their dependants. In fact, they must do everything possible to help them build a strong, and inspiring faith.

To establish faith on sound grounds, there are various parallel avenues. There is the spiritual approach which is based mainly on the Qur'an and the Traditions of Muhammad, peace be upon him. There is also the rational approach which eventually leads to faith in the Supreme Being. This is not to say that the spiritual approach lacks sound rationality. Nor is the rational approach lacking in inspiring spirituality. Both approaches, in fact, they complement one another and may well come together in a lively interaction.

Now if someone is sufficiently equipped with sound rational qualities, one may resort to the rational approach or the spiritual approach or both, and may be confident that his/her conclusion will be right. But if one is incapable of profound inquiry or is uncertain of one's reasoning powers, one may confine oneself to the spiritual approach and be contented with the knowledge he/she can derive from the authentic sources of religion.

The point is that whether one uses the spiritual approach or the rational technique or both, one will in the end come to faith in God. All these avenues are equally important and accepted by Islam, and when properly channeled, lead to the same end, namely faith in the Supreme Being:

O People of the Scripture, there has come to you Our Messenger making clear to you much of what you used to conceal of the Scripture and overlooking much. There has come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book. By which Allah guides those who pursue His pleasure to the ways of peace and brings them out from darkness into the light, by His permission, and guides them to a straight path. (Qur'an 5: 15-16)

You have claimed that the Biblical references to killing are sometimes metaphorical; but the Quranic commands are literal.  This is a moot point; and for the time being, by citing examples from the Old Testament where killing on a large scale has been done with the help and guidance of Jehovah or Yahweh.

Read the Book of Joshua, Chapters 8 to 11.  About four chapters speak of nothing but killing, killing, killing and again killing, as commanded by Yahweh.  I quote just the last part of Joshua Chapter 10:

30: and the LORD gave it also and its king into the hand of Israel; and he smote it with the edge of the sword, and every person in it; he left none remaining in it; and he did to its king as he had done to the king of Jericho.
31: And Joshua passed on from Libnah, and all Israel with him, to Lachish, and laid siege to it, and assaulted it:

32: and the LORD gave Lachish into the hand of Israel, and he took it on the second day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and every person in it, as he had done to Libnah.
33: Then Horam king of Gezer came up to help Lachish; and Joshua smote him and his people, until he left none remaining.
34: And Joshua passed on with all Israel from Lachish to Eglon; and they laid siege to it, and assaulted it;
35: and they took it on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword; and every person in it he utterly destroyed that day, as he had done to Lachish.

36: Then Joshua went up with all Israel from Eglon to Hebron; and they assaulted it,
37: and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and its king and its towns, and every person in it; he left none remaining, as he had done to Eglon, and utterly destroyed it with every person in it.
38: Then Joshua, with all Israel, turned back to Debir and assaulted it,
39: and he took it with its king and all its towns; and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed every person in it; he left none remaining; as he had done to Hebron and to Libnah and its king, so he did to Debir and to its king.
40: So Joshua defeated the whole land, the hill country and the Negeb and the lowland and the slopes, and all their kings; he left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the LORD God of Israel commanded.

I understand that 'he left none remaining' means, Joshua killed the men, the women and the kids?even babies.  At the command of Yahweh.

And we read this in the Book of Isaiah:

[Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword.  Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished. ] (Isaiah 13:15-16)

Here we see how the Bible tells of God's commands to fight and kill.

In the New Testament, Jesus Christ is quoted as saying that he had come to bring the sword, to "set father against son and mother against daughter" (Luke 12:53) and called on his followers to kill: "But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me" (Luke 19:27).

You can see that the parable comes to an end with the previous verse, namely Luke 19:26: "For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him. "

It was after this that we find these verses: "But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me. " And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem.

It is clear that he did not want his disciples to put this into effect immediately.  And
certainly the mission of Jesus in those days did not include fighting, nor was he prepared for it.  But it would be naive to say that Jesus did not know the role of wars in the history of humanity.  He certainly knew the Law of Moses and the significance of fighting in Jewish history.  Didn't he know that the Law of Moses taught the philosophy of an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth? And yet what did he say of the Law?

[Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.  For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. . . ] (Matthew 5: 17, 18).

And from the manner in which he drove out the money changers in the Jerusalem Temple (John 2: 13-15), it is clear that he did not completely rule out the use of force, in establishing peace on earth.

The question is how did the Christians interpret the words of Jesus in their practical life? Most assuredly the import of the parable (quoted above) was not lost upon the Christians of the later centuries.  If we examine the history of Christianity, we see the above words of Jesus have been enacted in bloody reality many times - starting when an important political rebellion against the Roman Catholic Church took on a religious slant - leading to the split in European Christendom between Catholic and Protestant.  This split sparked off a series of religious wars which were ultimately to be responsible for the death of nearly a third of the entire White race.

If we argue that the essential message of Jesus is "turning the other cheek" even in the face of the worst provocation, then we have to admit that Jesus' avowed followers have belied his teaching repeatedly.  Even when their tongues call Jesus "the Prince of Peace", weapons of mass destruction are being forged in their backyards to massacre the non-Christians.  Every time a Christian bomb tears apart the limbs of an Iraqi man, woman or child in Baghdad or Fallujah, Christ's teaching is proved to be null and void.  It is funny to hear the Christians blaming Muslims for taking up weapons while they themselves had exploded two Christian atom bombs that killed millions; and theirs is the monopoly of manufacturing, distributing and using the most horrible weapons ever made by the hand of man - the followers of the Prince of Peace indeed!

The Quran is a continuation and completion of the earlier scriptures like the Torah and the Gospel; and the mission of Muhammad was a reconciliation between the harsh Law of Moses and the non-violent Gospel of Jesus.  Consider this Muslim idea in the light of Islam's acceptance of Moses and Jesus as prophets of God and their books as God-given scriptures.  Muhammad never claimed that he was preaching a new religion: he said that his mission can be compared to a brick; the last brick needed to complete the construction of a building.  All the prophets?indeed thousands of them?had preached the Religion of God before, and every prophet had a mission to fulfill.  And when the time was ripe the Last Prophet came and completed the Religion of God.

The Quran has said what means:

{So when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make (them) prisoners, and afterwards either set them free as a favor or let them ransom (themselves) until the war terminates?} (Muhammad 47:4)

The context of this verse was when the Muslims were to fight their enemies for their very existence.  After thirteen years of endurance and patience, the prophet and his companions had to leave their home town of Makkah and to emigrate to Madinah.  When the people of Madinah had welcomed him there and he was accepted as a leader there, the Makkans became unhappy.  They wanted to eliminate Muhammad and his religion; and so they sent their army to root out Islam.  And the crucial battle took place in Badr.  It was just before this that Muhammad received the revelation from God to fight:

{And fight in the way of Allah with those who fight with you, and do not exceed the limits, surely Allah does not love those who exceed the limits. } (Al-Baqarah 2:190)

This meant that the Prophet and his companions were not to start the fighting; but to defend themselves against aggressors.  That was how fighting was ordained; but we must know that once we fight, we fight to defeat the aggressors, so that we can live without fear of molestation and invasion; so that we can live in peace; so that justice is done.  Remember God does not command any one to start fighting; rather He permits people to fight in self defense or for the defense of those who are attacked unjustly.

All the passages in the Quran referring to fighting have been revealed in the context of the threats of battles from the enemies of Truth and Justice.  And when you are told to fight, you are commanded to fight on till justice is established; till the criminals are brought to book, till Peace can prevail.

When DU bombs are dropped from a height of 30,000 ft, how can you turn the other cheek? By their invasions and occupations, people whom Muslims see as representing Christians have been proving Jesus' message of Peace irrelevant and meaningless in the world of reality.  And then they quote Jesus and ask Muslims not to resist them while they go on brutally maiming and massacring people and demolishing their mosques!

You are courteous

- Hell
In the teachings of the Islamic religion
1 - includes the punishment the infidels and the polytheists, Jews, Christians and Hindus 00,000
Yet as a result of Removed from the oneness of God and its involvement

allah says in the Holy Qur'an
in the Holy Qur'an the name of God the Merciful ((72) They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary" while the Messiah has said, "O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. " Indeed, he who associates others with Allah ? Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire.  And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers.
(73) They have certainly disbelieved who say, " Allah is the third of three. " And there is no god except one God.  And if they do not desist from what they are saying, there will surely afflict the disbelievers among them a painful punishment.
(74) So will they not repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
(75) .  The Messiah, son of Mary, was not but a messenger; [other] messengers have passed on before him.  And his mother was a supporter of truth.  They both used to eat food.  Look how We make clear to them the signs; then look how they are deluded.
(76) Say, "Do you worship besides Allah that which holds for you no [power of] harm or benefit while it is Allah who is the Hearing, the Knowing?

(48) Indeed, All h does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills.  And he who associates others with All h has certainly fabricated a tremendous sin.

(31) Inclining [only] to Allah , not associating [anything] with Him.  And he who associates with Allah - it is as though he had fallen from the sky and was snatched by the birds or the wind carried him down into a remote place.

6.  And for those who disbelieve in their Lord (Allah) is the torment of Hell, and worst indeed is that destination.
7.  When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath as it blazes forth.
8.  It almost bursts up with fury.  Every time a group is cast therein, its keeper will ask: "Did no warner come to you?"
9.  They will say: "Yes indeed; a warner did come to us, but we belied him and said: 'Allah never sent down anything (of revelation), you are only in great error. '"
10.  And they will say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we would not have been among the dwellers of the blazing Fire!"
11.  Then they will confess their sin.  So, away with the dwellers of the blazing Fire.
12.  Verily! Those who fear their Lord unseen (i. e.  they do not see Him, nor His Punishment in the Hereafter, etc. ), theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward (i. e.  Paradise).

2 - punishment includes Muslim hypocrites
This means that it is not a real Muslim
But pretending to do so
  and fought Islam in secret
And the punishment of a Muslim hypocrite
  More than the infidel
God says in the Holy Qur'an
(142) Indeed, the hypocrites [think to] deceive All h, but He is deceiving them.  And when they stand for prayer, they stand lazily, showing [themselves to] the people and not remembering All h except a little,
(143) Wavering between them, [belonging] neither to the believers nor to the disbelievers.  And whoever All h leaves astray ? never will you find for him a way.
(145) Indeed, the hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of the Fire ? and never will you find for them a helper ?

Muslim who commits mistakes
Alternating also in the grave
But
Not like the infidel and an atheist, God

So
The Muslim must adhere to the teachings of Islam
And its correct application

Sayyidina Anas (RA) reported that Allahs Messenger (peace be upon him) often said:

"O Turner of hearts, keep my heart steadfast on Your religion.
So, Anas (RA) asked,
We have believed in you and what you have brought.
Are you apprehensive about us? He said,
Yes hearts are, surely, between two of the fingers of Allah.
He may turn them as He will.

Tirmidhi 35- BOOK ON DECREE AND PREDESTINATION (2147

3 - punishment for a sinner Muslim who commits sins such as murder - adultery ? Gambling -usury ----
?Sahih Al-Bukhari Narrated by Abu Huraira

The Prophet said, "Avoid the seven Great Destructive Sins. " The people enquire, "O Allah`s Messenger (saws)! What are they? " He (saws) said:

"To join others in worship along with Allah,
to practice sorcery,
to kill the life which Allah has for bidden except for a just cause, (according to Islamic law),
to eat up riba (usury),
to eat up an orphan`s wealth,
to give back to the enemy and fleeing from the battlefield at the time of fighting,
and to accuse chaste women, who never even think of anything touching chastity and are good believers?

4 - a Muslim who has good works and acts of bad in this world
God says in the Holy Qur'an
(102) And [there are] others who have acknowledged their sins.  They had mixed a righteous deed with another that was bad.  Perhaps Allah will turn to them in forgiveness.  Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

5-
The solution here   to all

Sincere repentance of the adulterer and the determination not to go back again and will accept the repentance of God
And speed to good deeds
You can repent to allah
And thus will not be subjected to punishment

allah says in the Holy Qur'an
(135) And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves [by transgression], remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins ? and who can forgive sins except Allah? ? and [who] do not persist in what they have done while they know.
(136) Those ? their reward is forgiveness from their Lord and gardens beneath which rivers flow [in Paradise], wherein they will abide eternally; and excellent is the reward of the [righteous] workers.
(68) And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse.  And whoever should do that will meet a penalty
(69) Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated
(70) Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work.  For them Allah will replace their evil deeds with good.  And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful
(71) And he who repents and does righteousness does indeed turn to Allah with [accepted] repentance
(72) And [they are] those who do not testify to falsehood, and when they pass near ill speech, they pass by with dignity
(73) And those who, when reminded of the verses of their Lord, do not fall upon them deaf and blind
(74)
(75) Those will be awarded the Chamber for what they patiently endured, and they will be received therein with greetings and [words of] peace
(76) Abiding eternally therein.  Good is the settlement and residence

(104) Do they not know that it is Allah who accepts repentance from His servants and receives charities and that it is Allah who is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful?

Spend your wealth for the cause of Allah, and be not cast by your own hands to ruin; and do good. Lo! Allah loveth the beneficent{quran 2:195

According to the latest research from WHO (the World Health Organization), there are more than a million people who die each year because of smoking.

 - 90% of people who die of lung disease died because of smoking,

 - 70% of people who die of bronchitis die because of smoking,

 - 25% of people who die of cardiovascular disease died because of smoking,

It's a slow poison.

As you know, cigarettes contain nicotine and tar.

According to the latest fatwas given by almost 400 scientists, smoking is forbidden because the Qur'an says:

"and be not cast by your own hands to ruin."

It might seem beautiful to see some smoke coming out of the mouth and nose, but what does this smoke hide?

Not only is smoking harmful to you but it is also dangerous for those around you.

Research shows us today that women smokers are more likely to be affected by lung cancer because passive smoking is more harmful, so this smoke is even more dangerous for people around who are in the process of 'inhale. To harm one's health is a sin and to harm others is another sin.

It should also be known that smoking has segundary effects:

 - blackening of the lips, teeth, fingers,

 - damage to the gums, throat,

 - cause of peptic ulcer and constipation,

 - causes the loss of libido (set of sexual impulses), vigor (energy), appetite, memory, ...

And unfortunately with all these disadvantages, we continue to advertise.

The main media are ads, posters and spots shown in cinemas.

In movies there is still a connection with smoking, so another way of encouraging people to smoke.

Smoking is an obsession, it is not easy to quit, and it is very difficult to change these habits, but many people have managed to do so and so it is not impossible. You have to have the will and seek advice from the experts (or doctors), be sincere to Allah, do prayers and inchAllah with the help of Allah you will be able to do it.

This video shows the autopsy of the lungs of a deceased smoker:

Is the real purpose to criticize the marriage of young girls, or distorting the imageof Prophet Mohammed?

Most of western people are astonished when they realized that Prophet Mohammed, peace and blessing be upon him, married a nine- year old child when he was fifty years old, neglecting that marriage in such age was a natural matter, therefore it is clear that they are not criticizing the early marriage of a nine- year-old as much as they are keen to criticize and distort the image of the Prophet of Islam; this unveils their false human feeling under the pretext of defending the rights of Islam.

If they are not so, they should have spoken about such marriage as a general phenomena, before and after Islam.

If such Marriage was strange, then why didn't the disbelievers of Quraish use it as a pretext against Mohammed?

Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) was born in a society in which early marriage was something normal.  Moreover, his enemies, who tried to kill him, didn't use such marriage as a pretext to distort his picture.  Thus, marrying girls in such society is normal.

Quran recorded their claims, but Quran didn't say anything about this misconception and other prophets "Even so there came no messenger unto those before them but they said: A wizard or a madman!" (Quran 51: 52)

Did they know the marriage age in Judaism? All those claim should also focus on the stipulation of the Jewish religion which allowed marrying a girl of three years and one day!! The old testament narrated the story of the marriage of Isaac from Refka while she was just three years old.  (Genesis 17: 17) and (Genesis 25: 20) The 55 th commandment of Sanhedrin stated: "A maiden aged three years and a day may be acquired in marriage by coition. " The 11 th commandment of Talmud Khathboth mentioned: "The sexual intercourse between an adult man and a young girl is something ordinary. " While their book permit to marry one- day old, they criticize a man marry 9- year- old- child.  Absolutely, you are a double person standard.

The new testament recorded that David, peace and blessing be upon him, when he was very old, he married a young virgin child.  Did David (PBUH) commit this rape by your judgment?

Europe also allows marrying young ladies; the marriage in early age was prevailing in Europe itself, especially the early marriage of kings and rulers in the 12th century; for example, according to (William of Tyre), Anias was just eight years old when she reached Constantine while Alexis was thirteen years old (2).  Moreover, the wife of Alexis kimonos I was twelve years old when she married and became an empress before attaining fifteen years.  As for the empress of Byzantium "Theodora" the wife of Manwel, she was thirteen years old when she married the prince of Jerusalem "Baldwin iii"; moreover, "Margret Maria Hingaria" married "Izak Anglos ii" when she was nine years.

The age of consent in most countries all over the world, if we look at the current era i. e.  after 14 centuries from the marriage of the prophet from Lady Aisha.  AVERT, is an international charity based on UK and was interested in studying HIV/ AIDS diseases as she wants to prevent such diseases, mentioned a detailed table in its website about the age of the contest i. e.  the legal age of practicing the sexual intercourse worldwide.  For example,

the age of consent in Mexico is 12 years
while in Spain, Cyprus, south Korea, the age of contest is 13 years
Bolivia, the sexual age is the maturity age.  hxxp: www. avert. org/age-sexual-consent. htm

Is it logical to judge a marriage case that took place before 1400 years under the laws of the 21 th century.  Do you know that Lady Aisha was engaged before marrying Prophet Mohammed, thus it is normal.  Therefore, he did not marry his wife for lust or worldly desires.  If Prophet Mohammed, peace and blessing be upon him, had married for his lust, whims, and desires, why wouldn't he have married many virgin and young ladies? If you look for the Prophet's marriages, you will find that he didn't marry a virgin except Aisha! How come for a lusty man as you claim to marry a single virgin among his wives!

qibla change in islam

It is about humankind united in the worship of the One God, Creator, and Sustainer of the universe

The messages
of Judaism, Christianity and Islam
  from God
He is the same God

But after the distortion of Judaism and Christianity
God sent the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him
To correct the distortion in the previous books

1 - You can see in the Bible what can be described as: the Word of God

2 - You can also identify what can be described as: the words of the Prophet of God
 Jesus peace be upon him

3. What is more clear is that most of the contents of the Bible consist of reports of eyewitnesses, or others who wrote what they heard about, which we can call the words of the historian.

  4- .......
The Muslim agrees with the correct verses
remaining
Of the Bible
And cares about them
To explain to non-Muslims
How the Bible was distorted

the contradictions,
in the Bibles due to men not to God

- the authors did not consult one another,

- they have not checked their sources,

- that they were not inspired by God.

God ordered them to save the books, but they failed. God actually inspired the Psalms, the Torah and the Gospel to the Prophets, but the scribes failed to preserve them. God can not be the author of all that has been written in the Bible, and we can not know what is really the word of God, that of the prophets, or historians, ...
The Trinity in the Bible:

In the "King James" version: "There are three who bear witness in heaven; the Father, the word, and the holy spirit, and these three are one. " [The Bible, First Epistle of John 5: 7]

In the Catholic version: "For there are three who bear witness [in heaven: the Father, the Word and the Spirit; and these three are one. [The Bible, First Epistle of John 5: 7]

When this Bible was revised by 32 Christian scholars accompanied by 50 religious groups, they considered it to be a falsification, so they removed that word from the 1952 version.
