Green House Art Empowerment Centre is set for another session of the annual workshop for art teachers under its training and conferences series. According to princess Iyase-Odozi, proprietress of the art centre based in Olambe, Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, this year’s event which will kick off on July 22, is aimed at fostering a competent, efficient and results-oriented approach on art teachers in primary and secondary schools in the host community and beyond.

Themed Empowering Art Teachers, the organisers said they have put together a strong team of art scholars and seasoned professionals to facilitate the conference/workshop, one of several initiatives undertaken by the centre to expose participants to new trends in art education and what it takes to be a good art teacher.

“It will also provide insights on effective classroom management skills and create a rare opportunity for experience sharing and networking by art teachers,” a statement released by the centre said.

As a non-governmental organisation, Green House Art Empowerment Centre has the promotion of Nigerian arts, artists and empowerment of the youths, women and other disadvantaged groups in the society as its core objective. This it hopes to achieve through the provision of skills in art and crafts for self and paid-employment of youths.
