Recipe: Stuffed chicken cabbage rolls

1 pound of chopped and cooked chicken

12 cabbage leaves

15 ounces of tomato sauce

2 cups of uncooked rice

A dash of pepper

1 teaspoon of salt

1 medium onion, chopped

1/8 teaspoon of garlic

1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice

1 teaspoon of sugar

1 tablespoon of water

1 tablespoon of cornstarch


Pour boiling water over the cabbage leaves

Cover till leaves are limp

Remove leaves and drain

Mix the rice, ground chicken, salt, tomato sauce, garlic, pepper and onion. Place a bit of the chicken mixture on each leaf

Roll leaf around chicken mixture, tucking in sides

Place cabbage rolls sides down in ungreased baking pans

Mix remaining tomato sauce, lemon juice and the sugar

Pour over the cabbage rolls

Cover and bake in 350 degree microwave oven till chicken is cooked

Mix cornstarch and water and stir into cabbage liquid

Heat to boiling, stirring constantly

Stir and boil for a minute

Serve as sauce with cabbage rolls
