Come early October, Abuja, the nation‘s capital, will rock non-stop for at least a week during the Annual Festival of Nigerian Christain Choirs.

Professor of music and actor, Chief Laz Ekwueme; veteran gospel artiste, Panam Percy Paul, among others will perform at the festival of songs.

AFCN, a brain child of Royal Life in Christ Ministry International, an interdenominational and non-congregational support services provider, is floating the programme to commemorate the Golden Jubilee celebration of Nigeria‘s independence.

The president, RLCMI, Evang. Ify Edozie, at a press conference to hearld the activities lined up for the festival, said the initiative was to empower youths, groom and grow talents, as well as developing innate skills.

This, she reasoned, would contain and exploit the various career prospects within them.

”Royal Life Ministry International is determined to model the Annual Festival of Nigerian Choirs into an instrument of re-directing our youths, who are talented in the arts, thereby moving the society to a new and godlier ground.

”The competition will provide an alternative avenue for youths to expolit their potential and bring the church in Nigeria and outside the country together through music because most of the musicians in Nigeria today started their musical career right from the church,” Edozie said.

Paul, who atended the press conference, said, ”The event will be a festival of songs that will bring back the glory of God into this nation.”

The competition, the organisers says, is a reality show that will hit the air waves for 15 weeks featuring choirs from the six geographical zones of the country.

The winner will go home with N3m, while the first and second runners-up will go home with N1m and N750,000 respectively.
