Have you seen zebra lately?

These gorgeous animal prints have roared back. Lately, the fashion scene is getting quite adventurous with the wild.

While the leopard print may be the most famous and widely used of all, there is a place also for the snake skin, the crocodile and now the black and white stripes of the zebra takes over.

The zebra print stands out on its own as one of the most stylish patterns on the runway currently. In fact, they can be just as chic as snakeskin and leopard prints.

Zebra prints can be sophisticated or sexy (depending on the colour pairing and cut of the item). They almost always give off a slightly sporty air.

Now that they are everywhere, especially on the international scene, at varying price appeal and making the look accessible for most budgets, they are now the object of every woman’s obsession.

While other prints tend to flatter women with different body types and ages, zebra prints can appeal to women of all ages, sizes and races.

From handbags and shoes to diaper bags, bed linens, furniture, snuggies and sneakers, all are available in this hot, fun and funky trend which seems here to stay.

Designers such as Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Gucci, Marc Jacobs and Miu Miu, have played with this trend and discovered that they can be fun and sexy. At the just concluded Milan fashion week, where Roberto Cavalli had a showing of some of his pieces aptly called, Just Cavalli Fall 2012, some of his most striking pieces were the animal prints, specifically, the unmistakable zebra prints.

What more! He made judicious use of colour by mixing pops of orange and red with the black and white stripes.

So, whether the subtle muted out prints or bold and bright statement pieces, there is something for everyone in the zebra lane.
