Fufu, Eba cause problems for Eagles – Aminu

A former Chairman of the Nigeria Football Association, Col. Abdulmumuni Aminu (rtd.), has said the Eagles lost 2-1 to Greece on Thursday because they were too heavy to move after consuming Nigerian food.
Aminu said it was always a surprise to him that the players and some officials always clamour for local food like fufu and garri each time they were in closed camp.
He said, ”Our dishes are good but they are always heavy in the body. If players must take them it must not be frequent and must not be on match days.
“The Eagles were too heavy against Greece and they must have been taking too much of the stuff. When I was in the NFA, I insisted they take it once in a while because I know the implication.”
