Oil Should Be A Blessing, Not A Curse To Ghana – Kuffour
Learning from the problems the presence of oil has created in Nigeria, former Ghanaian president, John Kuffour, on Thursday, said his country was not only learning from Nigeria ’s experience, but trying to ensure that the discovery of oil would be a blessing to the country rather than a curse.
In a brief chat at the presidential wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos on Thursday, Kuffour advised Nigerian politicians to play the game of politics by its rules, as the nation prepares for the 2011 elections.
Speaking on the leadership crisis confronting Africa, the former Ghanaian leader, regretting that Africa was always involved in leadership crisis, expressed hope that the continent would soon get out of the problems.
When asked on how the continent intends to get out of the problem, Kuffour, who said though it would take time to overcome the challenge, stated that “Africa is integrating from a more difficult time into better times ahead.”
