Obi continues to make impact in Awka

The once sleepy Awka capital city is changing for good. Since the advent of Obi’s administration the once neglected capital city has been changing. From the now glamorous Zik Ave to Arthur Eze, Court road and even the Agu Awka link road to Enugwu Ukwu, it has been one story of rapid development.

What then can one say of the streets behind Government House? Obi has been slowly turning them into what one can call GRA. Every road there is now either tarred or being tarred and this has opened up the areas.
Now Obi is constructing an entirely new road that will link Works road to the Zik Avenue to ease traffic congestion. Tarring will begin any time from now. He has also embarked on the tarring of the road leading to the Immigrations office where lecturers of UNIZIK reside. The road links up to the streets behind Government House and the GRA.

Besides the roads Obi has built a library in Awka, sited the first Teaching Hospital in the state at Amaku, built Workers’ Secretariat, SEMA building and completed the overhead bridge initiated by his predecessor the only attempt made then in developing Awka.

Obi has shown that where there’s a will there will always be a way. He has become the best example of how to use public money for public good, recognising that development should not only be concentrated on his home town like Ngige did, while abandoning the capital city.
