Former Chairman of Guinness Nigeria Plc., and Chairman Taijo Wonukabe Limited, Mr. Ralph Alabi, is dead. A statement from the family spokesperson and  daughter of the late former Guiness boss,  Mrs Yetunde McEwen, said he died at his Ikeja GRA, Lagos home on Wednesday, 11 November, 2009.
Conferred with the  Officer of the Order of Nigeria (OON) award in 2003 by former  President Olusegun Obasanjo, Alabi, aged 68, was a quintessential Guinness man; joining on  March 9, 1964 as a technical trainee, rising to the position of managing director/chief executive and vice-chairman on October 21, 1991 and chairman on December 6,1996.
The late Alabi was a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE).
In his review of Divine Deal, the book  Alabi released in 2004 to celebrate his 40 years in Guinness, Dr Onukaba Adinoyi-Ojo, a director of TaijoWonukabe Limited,  stated: “As a good christian, Ralph Alabi believes that nothing in life happens by chance. Everything has been pre-determined by God, including the place of birth, the family which serves as a vessel to this world, colleagues, bosses and role
The impact of these people, the places any man will go, the events that will shape his life, the pains and challenges of life has all been ordained by God.”
The late Alabi devoted his last days to the service of God as a pastor of the Merciful God Ministry, a ministry dedicated to deliverance, word of God and prayer.
He left behind many children and grandchildren and a large army of persons from all walks of life who sought his counsel on various facets of life: spiritual, entrepreneurship, management, alumni relations, discipline and  family.
