Tiger Woods, American professional golfer and indeed the number one living personality in the sports whose achievements to date rank him among the most successful golfers of all time was born on December 30, 1975. Currently the World No. 1, he was the highest-paid professional athlete in 2008, having earned an estimated $110 million from winnings and endorsements.
Woods has won 14 professional major golf championships, the second highest of any male player, and 71 PGA Tour events, third all time. He has more career major wins and career PGA Tour wins than any other active golfer. He is the youngest player to achieve the career Grand Slam, and the youngest and fastest to win 50 tournaments on tour. Additionally, Woods is the second golfer to have achieved a career grand slam three times along with Jack Nicklaus. Also, Woods has won 16 World Golf Championships events, which he has won at least one event each of the 11 years they have been in existence.
Woods has held the number one position in the world rankings for the most consecutive weeks and for the greatest total number of weeks. He has been awarded PGA Player of the Year a record 10 times, the Byron Nelson Award for lowest adjusted scoring average a record eight times, and has the record of leading the money list in nine different seasons. He has been named Associated Press Male Athlete of the Year a record-tying four times, and is the only person to be named Sports Illustrated’s Sportsman of the Year more than once.
Since his record-breaking win at the 1997 Masters Tournament, golf’s increased popularity is attributed to Woods’ presence. He is credited for dramatically increasing prize money in golf, generating interest in new audiences as the first non-white person to win the Masters, and for drawing the largest TV audiences in golf.
On December 11, 2009, Woods announced an indefinite leave from professional golf to focus on his marriage after his past infidelities came to open.
Tiger Woods spoke of his commitment to his wife, Elin Nordegren and family in an interview filmed last month.
Tiger Woods spoke of his commitment to his family during an interview screened in New Zealand, but conducted in the days before his car crash and subsequent admission of several infidelities.
The interview, filmed in Melbourne last month, had been scheduled for broadcast on Christmas day, but was brought forward after the world No1 announced he would be taking an “indefinite break” from golf.
The interview principally focused on Woods’ relationship with his New Zealand caddie Steve Williams, although did also address family issues.

Marriage
In November 2003, Woods became engaged to Elin Nordegren, a Swedish model and daughter of former Minister of Migration, Barbro Holmberg and radio journalist, Thomas Nordegren. They were introduced during The Open Championship in 2001 by Swedish golfer Jesper Parnevik, who had employed her as an au pair. They married on October 5, 2004 at the Sandy Lane resort on the Caribbean Island of Barbados and live at Isleworth, a community in Windermere, a suburb of Orlando, Florida. They also have homes in Jackson, Wyoming, California, and Sweden. In January 2006, they purchased a $39 million residential property in Jupiter Island, Florida, which they intend to make their primary residence. Their Jupiter Island neighbours will include fellow golfers Gary Player, Greg Norman, and Nick Price, as well as singers Celine Dion and Alan Jackson. In 2007, a guesthouse owned by Woods on the Jupiter Island estate was destroyed in a fire caused by lightning.
Early in the morning of June 18, 2007, Elin gave birth to the couple’s first child, a daughter, Sam Alexis Woods, in Orlando. The birth occurred just one day after Woods finished tied for second in the 2007 U.S. Open. Tiger chose to name his daughter Sam because his father said that Tiger looked more like a Sam. On September 2, 2008, Woods announced on his website that he and his wife were expecting their second child. Five months later, it was announced that Elin had given birth to a boy named Charlie Axel on February 8, 2009.

Marital infidelities and break from pro golf
On November 25, a tabloid published that Woods had had an affair with nightclub manager Rachel Uchitel, a claim she denied. The story began to attract media attention when Woods had a car accident a day and a half later. He was leaving his home around 2:30 a.m. in his SUV, a 2009 Cadillac Escalade, when he collided with a hedge, a fire hydrant, and finally a tree down the street. Woods was treated for minor facial lacerations and cited for careless driving. He refused to speak to the police and the accident fanned intense speculation for the following two days until he released a statement on his website. He took blame for the crash, but said it was a private matter. He also praised his wife, Elin for getting him out of the car. Woods later announced that he would not attend his own charity golf tournament, the Chevron World Challenge, or any other remaining tournaments in 2009.
Interest in the story grew until San Diego cocktail waitress Jaimee Grubbs publicly claimed, in a gossip magazine, that she had a two and a half-year affair with Woods, producing voice and text messages that she says Woods left her. The voice message stated: “Hey it’s Tiger, I need you to do me a huge favour. Can you please take your name off your phone? My wife went through my phone…You got to do this for me. Huge. Quickly. Bye. Woods released an apology on the same day the story was published, expressing regret for “transgressions” and saying, “I have let my family down. Woods was not specific about the reason for the apology, but requested privacy.
After over a dozen women claimed in media outlets that they had affairs with Woods, media pressure increased. On December 11, he released another statement, admitting to “infidelity” and offering another apology.
Woods’ December 11 statement also announced an indefinite hiatus from professional golf. The world no.1 revealed has taken an indefinite break from professional golf to mend his personal life. The day after the statement, several companies indicated they were reconsidering endorsement deals. Gillette suspended advertising featuring Woods, and said they would not be hiring him for any public appearances for the company. On December 13, management consultancy firm Accenture completely cut its sponsorship of Woods, stating the golfer was “no longer the right representative.
But sponsor, Nike decided to stand by Tiger Woods amid revelation of his multiple affairs has and called the ace golfer’s infidelities a “minor blip”.
Nike Inc Chairman and co-founder, Phil Knight said the controversy surrounding Woods was “part of the game” in signing endorsement deals.
“Obviously, he was one we checked out and he came out clean, and I think he’s been really great,” Knight said.
“When his career is over, you’ll look back on these indiscretions as a minor blip, but the media are making a big deal out of it right now,” Knight added.

The women in his life
Tiger Woods’ extra-marital affairs continue to unveil with the addition of a former nightclub waitress taking the number to 12.
Julie Postle is reportedly the 12th lover in the list of the women linked to the golf great.
According to a report, Woods allegedly met Postle at Roxy nightclub in Orlando, Florida. Her former beau Brian Kimbrough told the New York Post that the 33-year-old star confessed to Postle about his marriage, saying it was only to support his public image. Former bartender Kimbrough, “She said Tiger told her that his marriage was for publicity. She said it was for his image and the tabloids and wasn’t real.”

Tiger Woods’ first girlfriend speaks out
Tiger Woods’ high school girlfriend was a beautiful blue-eyed blonde. Dina Gravell (now known by her married name – Gravell-Parr) met the golfing ace in 1992 when she was 17 and he was 16.
They both attended Western High School in Anaheim CA. The couple dated for three years before calling it quits. “We dated in high school and he broke up with me through a letter I still have,” Dina told a website.
Talking about her physical similarities with his ex-model wife, Dina told the website, “It’s kind of an interesting parallel because people say I look a lot like his wife Elin. I’m a twin just like her, my father-in-law’s name is Earl, which was Tiger’s father’s name, and now my last name is Parr, which is a very golf related name!”
But it seems Dina doesn’t regret the end of the relationship with her first love. “I look at Elin and think, ‘That could have been me’,” she tells the website. “Thank God it’s not!”

Jaimee Grubbs
One of Tiger Woods’ mistresses, Jaimee Grubbs, has appeared on US television to apologise to the golf star’s wife, Elin Nordegren. Jaimee said she couldn’t describe how remorseful she is to have hurt Elins family and her emotionally.
Grubbs, 24, who says she got intimate with the golfer 20 times over about three years, said: “If it wasn’t me, it was going to be other girls.
“I did care about him – I didn’t do it for superficial reasons. I didn’t do it to purposely hurt her.” She stopped short of saying they were in love. “Love is obviously a very strong word for me to even use,” she said. “I wouldn’t necessarily say that I didn’t love him. But I couldn’t … I did never say that I did love him. I didn’t let myself get that far.”
Grubbs said Woods and Nordegren should “try to work” out their relationship.
“He’s an amazing guy despite everything that is coming forth,” she said of Woods, who has been linked to 14 women. Grubbs said she wasn’t sure she’d be intimate with Woods again if he and Nordegren split up. “I can’t say that I would ever go back to him. I would definitely have a relationship with him whether it was friends or just to have him in my life,” she said. “But as far as going back to him emotionally like I was – I don’t know if I can put myself through that again.”
Grubbs said Woods “never mentioned his wife” when they were together.
“I wouldn’t have pursued him if he didn’t pursue me. I mean, when he did, I just figured he was single and I didn’t think to ask,” she said.
By the time she learnt he was married, they were “already in a relationship”, she said.
“I knew we had a respect between both of us, that we cared deeply for each other and we did very much trust each other.
“But the words were never there. Nothing about the relationship was fake that I felt.”
Grubbs described her first kiss with Woods, whom she met in Las Vegas when she was just 20. It wasn’t until the morning after they met.
“We were sitting to eat and we were play fighting and we had our first kiss,” she said. “It was very gentle, very sweet. It wasn’t quick, but it wasn’t a make-out session or anything like that. It was very respectable.”
She said she kept their “intimate relationship … very sacred. It was something between the two of us that I did grow to love very much”. Even when they weren’t in the same town, “we very much had a relationship”, Grubbs said.
“We did talk very often, we did talk about my jobs or whatever it may be. He was always interested in how my life was going and every holiday he would say, ‘I hope you have fun with your family and I hope things are going well.’
Grubbs said she was last with Woods on October 18 – about a month before his controversial November 27 car crash.
She said Woods made her “feel like I was the only girl, so to go back and see specifically now when there’s more and it’s really hard”.
She explained that she felt the need to come forward with her story after hearing she wasn’t Woods’s only woman.
“Seeing that was devastating. It hurts,” she said, adding that they were “done” as soon as she found out. Hearing about Rachel Uchitel – whom she calls “very similar to, very social, very outgoing” – “hurt” the most, she says.
What would she say to Woods if she had the opportunity? “I would tell him that no part of our relationship was fake and I cared for him. It would hurt the way he made me feel because he was doing that with other women and I am sorry that everything is coming out and happening the way it did, but I needed to get everything off my chest.
“I’ve learnt from everything that I did. Had I not acted on emotion, I probably would have taken a second to think of how it was going to affect my family and the impact it was going to have not on my life, but on everybody that’s been involved in this,” she said.

Woods’ Mistress No. 4 – Intoxicating Behaviour
From the photos of the mysterious 4th Tiger Woods mistress, Julie Postle, judging by her hair, skin colour and liberal use of the tongue, she definitely seems to be Tiger’s type.
Postle, a VIP host at Roxy nightlcub in Orlando, claims to have had a two-year affair with the golfer during his marriage to Elin Nordegren. Postle also claims Tiger used to tell her that his marriage to Elin was purely “for publicity.”
Rachael takes precaution
Tiger Woods’ alleged mistress No1, Rachel Uchitel has flipped out after learning how many women now claim to have had unprotected sex with Tiger, and she is telling friends she will get screened for sexually transmitted diseases. Friends say Rachel is particularly upset that Tiger allegedly slept with two porn stars.
However, she claims she was lying when she said she did not have an affair with Tiger Woods. It was alleged that the fight at Tiger’s home the morning of the crash was triggered by a series of text messages between Tiger and the woman.
Rachel Uchitel had publicly denied she had sexual relations with Tiger Woods, but later agreed she did have an affair with the golfer. And it was revealed that it was her not Jaimee Grubbs who caused an argument between Tiger and his wife, Elin Nordegren, that immediately preceded Tiger’s SUV crash.
Sources say less than an hour before Tiger’s accident, Rachel and Tiger were texting each other. Elin confronted Tiger and asked whom he was texting. She grabbed the phone and we’re told she called Rachel to confront her. According to sources, Tiger and Elin began arguing and the phone broke in the process.
It was learnt that there was damage as a result of the altercation in the vestibule area of Tiger Woods’ home damage that cannot be easily repaired, and that is why Tiger would not let police come in.

Theresa Rogers
Tiger Woods’ extra-marital affairs continue to unveil with the addition of Theresa Rogers, a woman in her 40s, taking the number of mistresses to 14. Rogers is staying in Wellington, Florida. Interestingly, her affair with Tiger occurred both before and after he married Elin, making her the mistress with the most longevity. She also is apparently the oldest of Tiger’s women, and is in her 40s. Sources inform that Rogers travelled with Tiger extensively during the past five years. She met him in various cities for sexual hookups. She is the only known woman to continue a relationship with him after he married.

Woods’ apology
I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children. I want to say again to everyone that I am profoundly sorry and that I ask forgiveness. It may not be possible to repair the damage I’ve done, but I want to do my best to try. I would like to ask everyone, including my fans, the good people at my foundation, business partners, the PGA Tour, and my fellow competitors, for their understanding. What’s most important now is that my family has the time, privacy, and safe haven we will need for personal healing. After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person. Again, I ask for privacy for my family and I am especially grateful for all those who have offered compassion and concern during this difficult period.

No more wedding ring -Wife
Tiger Woods’ wife Elin was finally spotted in public this weekend, but she was noticeably missing a vital piece of hardware- her wedding ring.
Elin who used to wear her wedding ring out in public all the time – was photographed, sans ring, as she gassed up her red SUV near her Windermere mansion in Florida.
…Plans to ‘dump’ him after Christmas
Disgraced golfer Tiger Woods’ wife will reportedly dump him after Christmas.
Shattered after learning about Woods’ series of affairs, Swedish model Elin Nordegren is said to be in talks with divorce lawyers. However, she’s pretending a normal family life for the sake of their two children. Nordegren is said to have told a close friend that she wants to spend Christmas with Tiger and the kids in Sweden before a trial separation in the New Year. “In the short-term, they’ll act like any other loving couple. Elin won’t break it all up right away. But she does need some time alone to herself and a legal separation will happen very quickly,” the friend added.
Nordegren has already moved herself and the children-two-year-old daughter Sam and 10-month-old son Charlie – out of the marital home to a separate house 200 yards down the road in Windermere, Florida.
The pal said Nordegren weight has plummeted as she loses sleep and struggles to eat with all the stress. “To have been lied to for so long and not have a clue about it, she’s got to wonder about the man she married,” said her friend.
“And she’s also blaming herself, which is the worst. Elin is doubting her own abilities to chose the right people in her life.
“The trouble is Elin had no idea Tiger was cheating on her. He did an excellent job at keeping his lifestyle under wraps.
“And Elin isn’t one of those controlling wives who checks up on her husband 10 times a day. He’d never have married her if she was high maintenance or suspicious at all”.
